Today's Blind Items - Jackass

I guess this actor would be considered A list because he does have a franchise. I would call him more B+ list. He is not married currently. He has really begun to change from the funny, sweet guy he was always portrayed in the media to be. Lately though he has snapped at people quite frequently. A couple of weeks ago there was a prime example of this. Our actor took his car to be washed. Well, at this particular car wash, the attendants vacuum and do other things prior to the car going through the wash. Most patrons just go inside and wait. Not our actor who stayed with them every second and made them do everything three or sometimes four times. The lines of cars backed up because of the actor was about 20 deep. After he was satisfied, they moved the car into the wash. The actor went inside to watch through the viewing window. That lasted as long as it took for the car to actually go through the jets of water. After that, the actor went inside the washing area and made sure the attendants got every spot washed and wiped and clean. What should have been ten minutes turned into 30, all because this actor was out of control. Finally, someone in management noticed the line of cars and ordered the actor out of the area. When he refused, they moved his car out, and told him to leave and never come back.

  1. Brendan Fraser. Lots of reports of him acting very manic lately.

  2. Have there been any body dumps in LA in the last 2 weeks?

  3. Whoever it is, I can see why they are no longer married.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Yeah NAFA I hope the ex isn't "on a long trip out of state/countery visiting her mother" Someone needs to tell this guy no matter how good you clean the blood and fibers still shows up...LOL

  5. is will ferrell married?

    ReplyDelete
  6. LOL Little Blue Pill--could be that is why he was so compulsive on the cleanliness!

  7. I'm getting on the Brendan bus.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I was gonna say Tobey McQuire. No reason.

    ReplyDelete
  9. norah, yes, he is.

i thought of bruce willis right away but i guess i'm the only one. as usual....lol.

  10. Umm...I do this. You pay 20 or 30 bucks for a wash and when you get home you see a big splotch of dirt on your car, you lose it. I spend five to six hours a week cleaning my car. It's a personal relaxation thing. Some read, takes naps during downtime, I clean my car. If I'm taking it to a wash, it means I didn't have time. This isn't that bad...

If you think of your car as just a car, you wouldn't understand this. Seriously, you won't.

As for his other antics, I guess ent would have to describe them. BTW, I don't think it's Frasier. I just don't see him being a car guy. Whomever this person is, has to be a car nut. Use that as a clue.

    Chris Tucker.

  11. @trogdor. I have to disagree. in L.A. there are any number of mobile car washing/detailing services that cater to those car afficionados/"car nuts" who can afford it. An A list celebrity with a franchise can afford it. This screams manic/compulsive/crazy behavior and I'm on the Brendan Fraser bandwagon.

  12. Whew! I'm relieved there are guesses for this one. Because of the title of the blind and the franchise hint, I'd assumed it was Johnny Knoxville (whom I adore). I'm delighted to discover no one thinks it's him! Yay!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I hate when the car wash doesn't get the car clean also. I don't have the nerve to actually watch and point out the spots though. Is Tobey Maguire married.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I am thinking Mike Myers...Maybe he was trying to get "another stain" out-maybe a little backseat lovin?

    ReplyDelete
  15. LOL. I say Bruce Willis also. I was thinking I was the only one:)

    ReplyDelete
  16. but I think Mike Myers is pretty up there as well.

  17. It can be cool to get 86'd from a trendy bar or party, but a car wash? That's pathetic.

I know we Californians love our cars, but how much of a car lover can he be if he went to a public car wash? Those places are notorious for scratches, dings, and missing items. As long as they have signs posted that they're not liable, your car is their's to thrash.

Maybe its just the Southern coming out in me, but I feel like if someone else managed to get your car 99.99% clean for you, what's the big deal about wiping a spot or two off yourself?

Of course, I held off getting a remote control for my TV forever because I couldn't understand why people were too lazy to get up and change the channel. Then I discovered channel surfing.

  20. Yes, Tobey Maguire is married, so he's out.

binkym -- The "Jackass" title doesn't necessarily refer to Johnny Knoxville and his gang. That's just what Ent calls them when they act like, well, jackasses. For these types of blinds, it's either a "jackass" or a "kindness." So, rest assured, it's probably not Mr. Knoxville.

trogdor -- 5-6 hours a week! You would probably just die on the spot if you saw my car! :)

So, all of that, and I don't even have a guess of my own. :(

  21. I'm on the Brendan Fraser train too. Has he been drinking his Rogaine by mistake?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm feeling the Mike Myers guess too. He's got a rep as Mr. Nice guy but it has come out lately that he is an insufferable tool who is a wicked control freak. I think Fraser is just a meth/coke head and/or possibly a bipolar. Myers is DEFINITELY bipolar as Britney.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Trogdor, if you're that picky, then expect every single customer to be as picky and plan to be 20 cars back, waiting 30 minutes per car, as every single customer gets the same treatment as you expect.

Oh, and bring War and Peace.

And I doubt this will save you any time.

    ReplyDelete
  24. No it can't be Daniel Craig! I was thinking Bruce Willis too. He always seems charming, but I can totally see him being neurotic and obsessive compulsive. Plus maybe he's mad because he hasn't had a job forever so he is taking it out on others.

    ReplyDelete
  25. This doesnt really seem like that big a deal. this carwash sounds like the one in Woodland Hills, I've seen celebs there before, and I think it is fine to watch your car through every step of the process.

    ReplyDelete
  26. God forbid you get what you pay for these days... if you're gonna do a half-assed job you should be called an almost car wash. I don't care how much money you have or don't have; if your paying to clean your car then they should clean your car. I live in the Midwest and it's crazy what a lazy job they do and no I'm not lazy myself. We have several months a year that you can't wash your own car. Although I could probably piss on my car and get it cleaner. Change this from jackass to hero!!!! So it is written; so it is done!

  27. I'm gonna go against the grain here and say Shia Lebouf - he's been getting out of hand recently (remmber the go get me a cigarette thing?) and Transformers is a franchise although so is indiana Jones but they won't make any more of those probably (hopefully). Besides I don't think Mike Myers would get his own car washed anyway. Also, I don't think it's Brendan Fraser either cause wouldn't Ent have said divorced?

    ReplyDelete
  28. ME!>>>>>>

oh, wait, i forgot, i'm not a celeb. but i am damn picky about my car. i had to stop taking my *sob* traded in firebird to the full service because i couldn't remember how to turn off the alarm. plus they stole $11.00 once.
i've taken the new one to the "no touch" high pressure drive through, but let's face it, those are not made for rag tops. and mr. bunny didn't think yesterday and had the super wash with the wax and everything. he SHALL be SEVERELY reprimanded.

wait, what were we talking about?????

    ReplyDelete
  29. Cash- Doesn't 'not married currently' imply divorce?

Not that I am jumping on the Brenden Fraser train...I think even with Mummy franchise he still is not even B+.....

I like the Mike Myers guess.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Cash: Shia's never been married. Also, Enty said that this person is not currently married, which implies that he has been in the past.

I would go with Fraser or Myers -- probably leaning toward the former a bit.

Bruce Willis is an interesting guess, but I can't imagine him getting his car wash. I would imagine him hiring a service to come to his house/office or something.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Clearly Tyler Perry

    ReplyDelete
  32. Tucker is married. Perry never has been. I'm not sure anymore. I do agree it was someone recently married because of ents wording. Also, ent purposely points out 'a' franchise and not franchiseS.

Willis - Die Hard, Whole Nine Yards
    Myers - Shrek, A. Powers, Wayne's World

I guess it is Fraser (mummy, recently divorced). But remember they said he had all those people around him in some recent blind? I doubt he would get his own car washed as well.

@Brendalove - It sucks when you notice a spot. Today's clearcoats/overcoats can receive extensive damage from just rubbing dust or dirt across it. When you see the leftover spots, you have to get out the bucket, the soap, rinse the spot....etc. Might as well do the whole thing yourself.

    @mikael - agreed!

    @pickyb - I don't judge people by their cars!

I judge them by their skin color.......

    J/K J/K!!!

@grace - I wouldn't wait that long to get my car washed. I'd just do it at home. The thing is, if I'm paying 30 bucks (about the price for the all out wash) I would like to get at least a dollar/minute. To pay 30 and get ten minutes worth of work is robbery. That's phone sex type money!

Also, after my first wash, I tipped the guys. Sure they were pissed when I kept telling them to do this or that, but when I tipped all of them each a coupla bucks, they were happy. Since then, whenever I do need to get it cleaned and I go to pick up my car in the clean lot, I notice mine is always alot shiner than the others.

(Which also makes me realize they could, in fact, clean the cars a lot better, they just need a compelling reason to do so)

If you got 20 customers jammed up waiting for a car wash, you shouldn't be in the business. Get more employees, instead of ripping us off!

  33. @Picky B: Thanksfor letting me know about the "Jackass" title! I knew about the "Kindness" ones, but hadn't known about these, so thanks for the intel. Now I'll know not to get rattled again the next time one of these rolls around!

@Jessi22 re: your comment "maybe [Bruce Willis is] mad because he hasn't had a job forever": Perhaps you were out of the country when he did "Planet Terror," or missed "Live Free or Die Hard," or didn't hear that he's currently working on Jonathan Mostow's "The Surrogates," or that word is that he'll play Hannibal Smith (seriously!) in the upcoming "A-Team"! Most actors only dream of working so little!

@everyone: "He is not married currently" sounds to me as if he's planning to be married, or is in some sort of long-term relationship, not necessarily that he's divorced.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Wow Ent, you really touched on a hot topic here.

"He is not married currently" could mean engaged. Or perhaps his divorce was long ago. Or perhaps he's living with a long-time love. He's normally been portrayed as a "funny, sweet guy". As much as this pains me to say, Mike Myers does not fit this clue. Plus, I think he'd get his assistant to get his car washed.

I believe Brendan Fraser was usually a sweet, funny guy while he was married. Now he's a bit manic.

I think mikael is Yul Brynner's ghost.

Can anyone recommend a good upholstery shampoo/stain remover? Damn kids.

  35. This might be a stretch, but to back up the Brendan guess... Ent says the car went through "jets of water." An odd phrase, no? Well, Jet Li was in the latest Mummy movie.

trashtalker that's not a stretch, its a very good observation!

trogdor: this type of machine line car wash is a quick and easy clean. I almost said quick and dirty..LOL. I think this jackass blind is because the guy was waaaay too anal about it. You don't go into a Walmart and expect Bergdorf service and this is what this guy was doing. If he expected pristine detailing then he can pay $400 and up and wait a few hours for it like everyone else. This quickie thru the line car wash like brushing your teeth: flossing and minty rinse takes extra time and effort and if you want the comprehensive package along with the plaque removal, polishing and the whitening treatment its gonna be a whole lot more of everything. Don't expect miracles from just a quick brushing, the brushing does what it was meant to do and nothing more. Same with the quick clean car wash. Brendan opps I mean the guy was way over the line. Good on the mgr for getting rid of that pompous anal asshole, at least someone had the sense to know that keeping one unbalanced freak happy for 10 minutes was not worth losing 20 customers over.

  38. Vin Diesel.

No reason. Just the first one that popped into my head (even before the car stuff). Not sure he's even B+ though....*L*

    ReplyDelete
  39. The way Enty talked about his overall personality change makes me think this is about a new or worsened drug addiction rather than car care.

    ReplyDelete
  40. One little blind. It's one of the 4 that never had a blind. Which one, on the set of the last feature that person worked and still to be released, had the extras instructed to avoid even eye contact?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well, not Julia, 'cause she doesn't have a movie in the can. I'm going for Tim Daly. When people say this about actors, though, I'm always curious if it's because making eye contact will take them out of character? I once gave a huge smile to a friend who was in a play, and he lost his train of thought for a second - I felt so bad! :)

  42. My 2 favorite from you guys:

    Brendan Fraser

    Mike Meyers

"Not currently married" hit me as either divorced or that the marriage is *pending* so it could be one of the "engaged" lot. But I think it's a divorcee, most likely

    ReplyDelete
  43. RE: binkym
Bruce is that you? I am glad to see you got some work.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Tim Allen? Nice guy, Santa Clause movies, car buff, rumored to be very OCD about cleaning, etc.

Just who popped into my head when I read it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I can't imagine some of these guys who are true car buffs, driving their car through a community ragwash. No way for Meyers, nor Tim Allen. Meyers is already a DIVA and TIm Allen is just too cool. I still think he is the Doggie Bag Blind Item guy who feeds homeless people.

Anyhoo, I think it is Fraser too.

    ReplyDelete
  46. i wouldn't put it on tim allen, either. mr. bunny knows the guy who is his "tech bitch". tim calls, says, dude, i have a problem, and is more than happy to pay through the nose.
and he always parked his cars (during home improvement) with the other folk on the lot, and was rumored to be a decent guy. and i never got to meet him, damn.

    ReplyDelete
  47. So I know that I am going way the hell of the radar.

But I couldn't help notice the only numbers that were actually not written out were "20" and 30". Now this get me perplexed and I am probably wrong. But "franchise" + "numbers" to me = Kiefer. I know that he is not prtrayed as such as a sweet guy, but I mean, this has to mean something.

Steve Carrell doesnt fit. but what do those numbers mean?
