You Just Know It's Haunted
Want to live in the apartment where Heath Ledger died? You can. If you have $26,000 a month you can rent the 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom apartment where Heath Ledger died. For the privilege of living where he died, you will be paying $4000 a month more than he did. Hell, it does come with a wood burning fireplace so that extra $4000 is probably worth it.
Look, I know apartments are tight in New York and I'm sure someone will rent it really quickly, but it wouldn't be me. If I had $26,000 a month, I think I would find a different place to rent. Sure, people would want to come over and have a morbid curiosity, but they are not the ones who have to spend the night there. I don't know if Heath would haunt the place, but from what I understand, don't people who have been murdered or killed themselves or died under unusual circumstances in their homes come back to those homes? I mean it isn't like they would decide to hang out at a Motel 6 on the side of an interstate. I mean if ghosts could haunt wherever they wanted don't you think the women would go to Daniel Craig's house and the guys would go hang out with their favorite porn star.
And, just for the sake of argument, lets say the apartment wasn't haunted, don't you think that every night when you were trying to sleep, that you would be listening for that kind of thing. Every bump, or groan or strange sound is going to cause you to jump up and turn on the lights. You will talk yourself into it being haunted. Images of The Dark Knight will run through your head constantly because you know every friend who comes over is going to want to watch the film right there. They aren't going to watch something light and fluffy like A Knight's Tale. Nope, they are going to want full on intensity, while you just curl up in a corner in the fetal position and mumble "don't kill me Mary-Kate." (Satire people. Satire)
"I don't know if Heath would haunt the place, but from what I understand don't people who have been murdered or killed themselves in their homes come back to those homes?"
ReplyDeleteso whatcha saying there EL?
murder or suicide? didn't they coroner rule it an accident?
interesting...
I would never want to live there. I watch "Ghost Hunters" and they have shown some pretty convincing stuff that shows haunted places. Who ever moves in there has to be out of their minds. Why doesn't Mary-Kate just rent/buy it so no one else will?
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you one thing for sure...If I can come back, Colin Farrel better call an exorcist...
ReplyDeletei'm sure he's too busy watching over matilda.
ReplyDeletetalk about using heath's death to one's advantage by taking a bit of news and writing three paragraphs of bullshit, is it a slow news day, enty?
ReplyDeleteTHAT LOFT BELONGS TO THE GREEDY LITTLE TROLL....MARY-KATE, SHE OWNS IT...ALWAYS HAS...LITTLE CREEP
ReplyDeleteand that kind of coin is nothing for an apt in nyc. if it's in manhattan, it's a steal.
ReplyDeletelol@kris
ReplyDeletewell come on Molly, we're all waitng for you to write a post on your blog since you are the go to for good taste and judgement lately.
ReplyDeleteI'd be worried that the bumps and groans in the night would be Mary Kate and whatever greaseball she's screwing. Things I'd never want to see/hear.
ReplyDeleteI would think that the ghost of Heath would be kind of like Marley in A Christmas Carol, haunting, depressed, and wanting to help.
slow day picking a fight in the real world jax? go smoke a joint, you might chill out a bit.
ReplyDelete"don't kill me Mary-Kate." Bwaaaa-haaaa-haaaa!
ReplyDeleteAs I understand it, a couple of factors that tend to figure in whether or not a spirit decides to "stick around" are dying suddenly/unexpectedly and having unfinished business--parents (esp. mothers) of young children are very prone to wanting to stick around for their kid's/kids' sake--there's some kind of extremely strong emotional connection to either people or a place (and/or shock and/or anger over being dead) that tends to tie a spirit down and keep them from moving on. (Hence my not being at all surprised when it was rumored that John Lennon's ghost was hanging out at the Dakota.) Given that, it wouldn't be at all shocking if Heath turned out to be around and about, would it? (Mary-Kate, if you're reading this, you may want to think about having the place spiritually cleansed--sure, it's new-agey mumbo-jumbo & all, but it can't hurt, it might help a soul in turmoil, and it's not as if you can't afford it...)
ReplyDeleteI believe MK is responsible too. Had she immediately called 911, or someone in the apt called, and they had administered CPR he might of had a chance to live, but our little dope fiend was too dumb or to out of it to direct her employee appropriately.
ReplyDeleteAccidental overdose, with the assistance of Mary Kate Olsen. I hope Matilda haunts her for the rest of her creepy life. It will be MKO soon enough. Influence that bitch.
molly, I think that's an exaggeration. $26,000 is on the ridiculously high end of Manhattan rentals. That's not even CLOSE to being an average price, even for a 3-bedroom. Yes, there are rentals that cost that much, but NO ONE would consider that a steal.
ReplyDeleteayesha, is it? i don't live there but friends of mine moved out of there about three years ago and they were paying $40K. all i know is it wasn't overlooking central park and the place had no a/c. i thought they said it was that high everywhere in manhattan. they're in a big house in ct now.
ReplyDeleteHeath lived there...how long? like a couple months? i don't think he'd haunt there. he'd have better things to do. lol
ReplyDeleteWait Molly, you're saying your friend was paying 40k/month in rent? thats double my total house payment in a year plus some.
Were they living on Park Ave? I don't even think the Dakota is that much... wow thats insane.
julie, yup they were paying 40K a month. so they paid more in one month for rent than a lot of people make in a year. it wasn't on park ave. i wish i could remember the details, but other than it being a really old building w/o a/c, i don't remember.
ReplyDeleteok.... this scares the crap outta me...

ok...HOW do you know this? NOT being a smart ass... just a chicken. (I have no problem admitting it...) (And can you tell my Daddy I miss him? not a kid, but i am angry)....
I think Heath will always be with Matilda regardless of how or why he died.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah I'd be one of those who had a morbid curiosity. My regret of my visit to Manhattan is that I didn't make it to the Dakota.
You can't mention Daniel Craig without showing a new picture. It is a new rule made by me.
ReplyDeleteI'd be creeped out living at the place Heath died. Then again, I might get over it because I'd be filthy rich and could afford the rent.
OH, COME ON!
ReplyDeletehe's with the people he loves. my mother in law hung around for a while, until my father in law died. she pops in once in a while, but not as much and not as worried.
my poor sweet kitty cat, who slept by my head, had diabetes, and eventually died of an intestinal bleed has been back here to see us all. none of them are scary, especially bubba. he even woke me up with a meow TWICE the other night, and i'm not shitting you.
our loved ones watch us. they are here when we need them. according to sylvia browne, they can see EVERYTHING, but are not in the habit of being rude and jumping out and yelling "boo!", and i've seen some strange things, so i tend to agree.
i just wish bubba would hang around a little bit longer.
i miss my kitty.
i'm sorry, what were we talking about??
Thanks for that bionic bunny.... as someone who has lost my only sibling AND my kitty in the same year I always appreciate comments like that. Made me smile. Cyberhugs.
