Today's Blind Items

This one was a shocker. This A list country singer who is really outspoken and appears to be morally on the straight and narrow, has some business interests he probably hopes his fans never hear about it. Turns out that he owns about a 30% interest in a group of brothels in Amsterdam as well as in Bangkok. According to person who told me about it, the singer sees nothing wrong with it because they are legal in those countries and he says it is much better than getting free drinks at some club you own. Nice.

  1. don't you know that people who are so morally or religiously wound up, are sexual deviants?

i'm sure he sees nothing wrong with owning brothels.

  2. TK is who came to my mind first also...

    ReplyDelete
  3. I'm gonna echo the TK guess. Country singers..*shakes head*

    ReplyDelete
  4. And I'm sure they always check really carefully to make sure there are no underage girls working there. :(

    ReplyDelete
  5. So basically he's a pimp. Nice is right, Ent.

    ReplyDelete
  6. ^^^EXACTLY, mooshki. but i guess this moron could justify that by saying underage girls working as prostitutes is more acceptable overseas.

    **rolls eyes**

  7. Garth Brooks? Ba ha ha.

    ReplyDelete
  8. What about Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Kenny Rogers, Trace Adkins, Rascall Flatts, Tim McGraw..Give us just a bit more of a hint Enty!!
Shakey-love the Garth Brooks-man has more money than sense!!!

  9. I think Toby Keith is right. He's very outspoken and has dissed the Dixie Chicks on many occasions for their politics. Gotta be him.

    Asswipe.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Tim McGraw. He's a coke head too so he needs the cash. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  11. I thought of Toby Keith also because of his politics. He also has a song about doing the right thing.

Also thought of John Rich form Big and Rich...he seems like a stounch conservative.

    ReplyDelete
  12. wasn't rascall flatts who everyone thought of with the old blind about country stars doing coke after the awards show? was that blind ever revealed? i don't remember seeing it.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I agree this has that slimeball Toby Keith written all over it. And p.s. I have always thought he was a slimeball.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Toby Keith was definitely who came to mind. But Alan Jackson kind of fits too. Or maybe I just want him to fit because his hair fits it so well...*L*

    ReplyDelete
  15. No idea who it is. The Amsterdam thing don't bother me. Red light district is fun to walk around, and safe. The Bankok thing is wrong (underage girls and slaves). This person should be outed just for that.

    ReplyDelete
  16. boy is john rich a staunch conservative...he was on larry king last night promoting the song he wrote for the mccain campaign...

    ReplyDelete
  17. The BI didn't say boy brothel, so I think that elimates Kenny Chesney.

    ReplyDelete
  18. keith urban - aussies love bang-kok. And after the investment made money, he went for Amsterdam too. Next stop, Moskva.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Toby Keith owns a bar/restaurant in Vegas, so it sure sounds like him. That sucks because I love his voice (not his politics though)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Kyle Davidson :P
and if you get that reference you get...a cookie.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Thought the same thing, cinephan.

    Otherwise, no eye deer.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Toby Keith is a democrat and is supporting Obama. So, all of you who guessed that he was the pimp based on his politics are right. lol!

    ReplyDelete
  23. J is right. He has always been a Democrat and his beef with the chicks was over them disrespecting the office of President and our country in a foreign country at a time of WAR. He also felt that they disrespected our military and those who fight for our country by saying what they did in London and to the foreign press. Had nothing to do with the chicks political party as he is of their party also.

Toby Keith is the only name that comes to mind for this blind.

  25. Clooney does seem to age remarkably fast. Fast living?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Speaking as a country music lover (watch your mouth!), I'm not really sure people would be surprised that Toby would invest in something like that. He has been known to raise hell.

I would be MUCH more surprised to hear Garth, Tim McGraw (who doesn't have an angelic rep) or Alan Jackson did, though.

    Kenny Chesney, hell no.

And please don't anybody say it's Billy Ray Cyrus cos he's in the randoms today. He still AIN'T no A list country star!

John Rich isn't really A list either in my book. Maybe high Bs.

As for the Kenny Rogers guess? I guess Moosefan never hear about his romps with underage gals!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. nunaurbiz, I was going to say the same thing about Toby. While I thought politically he leaned conservative I've been to a few of his concerts and there are always very sexy girls booty shakin' on stage. Which is not typically country nor is it very morally straight and narrow! wonder who it is...

    ReplyDelete
  28. I am going with Toby Keith. I know Alan Jackson has low morals because he cheated on his wife. I don't think it would be any of the others. Tim may have a coke problem but I don't think he would partake in prostitution.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Chesney owning a brothel?
    FRAUD! lol...

    ReplyDelete
  30. I so have to agree that it is Toby Keith. I love country music and he is the only name that jumps out as being outspoken. I agree with SGF, he always has girls on stage and in his videos that are not shall we say covered completely. I wouldn't say Keith Urban because he is not very outspoken about thigns although I could see him doing such a thing considering his past.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I thought of Toby Keith also, since the BI says "this one's a shocker." TK has an album called
    "Shock'n Y'all."

I TOTALLY agree! This is exactly what I was going to say.
A brothel in Bangkok could have ANYONE there...young girls, young boys, torture....all sorts of sick and demented things.

You all have heard about the people who purposely go over there to satisfy their sick urges. Money over there can buy you anyone to have sex with...willing or unwilling.

This person really should be outed.
It's not right for him to hide behind his "good" exterior.

  33. haha, most of you boneheads with the kneejerk reaction, "dissed the dixie chicks", republican, waaaa & big effen deal. if you bothered to read beyond the headlines, this is one guy that puts the country first over whatever party he favors,(dems, btw) wow, what a concept.
btw, owning brothels is legal in those countries, the gov. collects taxes on that & drugs. they might be a little bit more thought out in those areas than we are, it goes on here also, (politicians, dems & reps are frequent users of both) but we choose to sweep it under the rug, so eff off with your sanctimonious bs & think for yourselves instead of the party line they are feeding you sheep.
i had a bad day & you morons piss me off.
fuk it, nevermind, just go check the box you dumbass repubs & demos.

I dont know about Bangkok but its impossible to be an underage prostitute in Amsterdam...prostitution,while legal in some Euro countries,is EXTREMELY regulated by the government

    ReplyDelete
  35. Toby Keith! Plus I know he loves being out of the US a lot especially in Mexico.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I listen to country music... and I gotta say: Toby Keith. (As much as I like his Christmas cd).

No way is it Alan Jackson. Even if he cheated on his wife, he is one of the good guys. (I will forever love him for when he took up for George Jones, and I'm not even a GJ fan).

Big and Rich are not A List. (sorry) They're rowdy, that's for sure.... but not A List.

The only other one I can think of might be Trace Adkins... but it doesn't ring true.

I still say ol' Toby. bummer

    ReplyDelete
  37. Oh, and does anyone remember the blind about a country singer who had lost a lot of weight?

Could you repost it if you do? I've tried and tried to find it, and can't...

  39. John Rich is A list considering..he is a singer in a popular band (not my taste but..) He also has a tv show and amongst his peers is an outstanding writer.

It could be him, he is outspoken and comes off as trying to me moral.

Toby~ it sounds like it could be him w/the outspoken and drinking/bar parts..but moral?? Naw.

As far as other A list singers..Chesney, Tim, Jackson, Garth, etc.. none match both the moral and outspoken, they seem to be one or the other.

    ReplyDelete
  40. The ONE A-list male country singer who would be a REAL shocker because he really comes off as a sweetheart (and he really is) hasn't been mentioned yet.

But dammit, ol' George Strait is SOFT-spoken, not outspoken.

But wouldn't that be a hoot if it were George?!?!?!?!

I still don't think Toby's thought of as especially "moral." "Patriotic," yes. Moral, not so much.

And even with a TV show, John Rich isn't A list in my book. Big & Rich doesn't headline their tours even, they co-headline with other acts. I think to be A list, you have to hold your own.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Randy Travis lol Though I don't think he's outspoken.

  43. There are two "j"s here. I am not the "j" who posted at 4:40 pm.

If the whore industry was so well regulated, you wouldn't have third world women being brought to these places illegally and forced to work against their will or forced to work to pay off phony expenses which can never ever be paid in full. The whole thing sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  44. It would hardly shock anyone who has gotten an eyeful of Toby Keith that he was into brothels. Far too little on the straight and narrow. And George Straight, although straight, isn't outspoken. BUT nobody (and I guess we aren't really country fans here) mentioned Gary Chapman, who I think without looking it up, was Amy Grant's husband before she ran off to Vince Gill....or Ricky Scaggs..what a shocker that would be.

    [the other Rebecca]

    ReplyDelete
  45. I will say Billy Ray Cyrus. He's already spawned his own child prostitute with a groupie.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I didn't know any Country singers even had passports and traveled outside the US.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anonymous8:43 PM

Not that I'm doubting this... but with blinds like this one I always wonder why they are not just exposed. It seems like this would be very easy to prove with a little journalism.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm thinking John Rich, who has been very outspoken lately in his support of McCain.

Toby Keith actually has calmed down a bit, and no one has every accused him of being on the straight and narrow.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Isn't John Rich's father a Baptist Pastor? And in his world of country music he would be consider A list. The boy has written alot of hit songs. Is making alot of cash with all the touring. Yet, I don't see him putting his cash into over-sea sex trade.

As much as I think Toby Keith is a clueless douche-bag... I am really curious if he would really put his cash into this kind of business. Not going to discount him.

And I would love for it to be Billy Ray Cyrus. It really would explain why he has not put a stop to his idiot 15 yr old daughter... posting her self portraits on the internet... dress only in her panties. Obviously he approves of the images.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I don't know who this is.

Regardless, I am going to guess that this is a legitimate business investment, no matter how tawdry it sounds. Prostitution or sex work is a government-regulated business and profession in many countries. As much fun as it is to assume the worst about this person (who sounds like a hypocrite), I would not assume that this person is dealing in a venture that employs/enslaves underaged workers and sex slaves.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I don't think this could be Gary Chapman. He had a huge coke problem and it was one of the reasons Amy went bed hopping.

For some reason I think this could be Steven Curtis Chapman. He is a Christian artist that crossed over to pop contry. Sold over 10 milion albums. Has toured the Southeast Asia region several times.

    ReplyDelete
  52. sandman, whenever enty has written about the dixie chicks, which is rarely, people have said they love them. do you really think this site is filled with republicans? or that anyone here excuses what this dickhead is doing?

think before you rip into people. otherwise you look like a fucking moron.

    ReplyDelete
  53. OtherJ, yep. There are a few "poster girls" for how awesome prostitution is (Amsterdam's red-light district, Heidi Fleiss's girls), but even if there are a few women who find it a positive experience, the VAST majority are in a very bad situation. With the demand what it is, prostitution will never go away, but let's not try to make it sound like a good thing in any way.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Is Conway Twitty still alive?

I think TK is too obvious. He doesn't exactly put forth wholesome vibes, but maybe I'm the only one who finds him revolting? I doubt it. He pissed off plenty of other people a few years back. But hey, I won't go on some diatribe about how Dubya is a war criminal who needs to be assassinated or at LEAST impeached, and how people who claim that standing by whatever decisions the president makes equals supporting the American troops (who SIGNED UP for this shit -- it's NOT as if they were drafted, but that's ANOTHER tangent altogether) are simply mindless sheep who have been completely brainwashed and ensorcelled by Rupert Murdoch and the rest of those evil fucks at Faux News. Nah. It's not even worth it at this point, because Barack is going to DESTROY McCain this November.

I'm making GOOD RIDDANCE, FUCKTARD! shirts to don on January 20th. If there are any takers, send me your address or something.

Toby Keith was also quoted as saying how he likes Obama because Barack doesn't "talk or act like a normal black person." NICE!

I don't really think he's a Democrat. Not a yellow dog one, at least. I think if McCain paid him enough to perform at the GOP convention next week, he'd be flying straight to Minnesota. Whereas Springsteen would sooner take a dump in a baggie and send it to McCain's handlers rather than EVER support him by singing.

I obviously am not really interested in this blind, but I'd LOVE it if yet another McCain supporter turned out to be a total douche. That Rich guy is okay with me. I'll pick him. I believe he's partly responsible for that horrid "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" song, so I totally believe that each of them are capable of evil, evil activities.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I guess it could be George Strait given that one of the clues is "straight(strait) and narrow"

    ReplyDelete
  56. Hey Ernestine! You have a habit of making up phony quotes and taking quotes out of context:

"On the Glenn Beck show on July 30, Keith said, "I think also that black people would say that he don't talk, act or carry himself as a black person."

Glenn Beck: What does that even mean?

Toby Keith: I don't know what that means, I'm saying that's what I think that they would say. Even though the black society would pull for him, I still think that they think in the back of their mind that the only reason that he is in is because he talks, acts and carries himself as a Caucasian, but I think he's got a I think him and McCain are the two best choices, in my opinion, that we've had in years."

I'm sure all of us have heard blacks criticize other blacks for "acting white", so, shove it, Ernie. If you want to sling cheap political insults in every thread, You. Are. On.

And since you approve of this type of crap, let's talk about when Joe Biden called Obama the first "clean" African-American candidate.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Just had a thought about the "shocker" reference. Toby Keith had an album called Shock'n Ya'll which would be another clue that points to him....

  59. I recommend you read "Patpong Sisters" which is about the prositution trade in Bangkok. Patpong is the district.

Underage girls, virgins, to be exact, are in very, very high demand there. That means these girls are usually under the age of 12.

AIDS is very high there -- 20 years ago the government was denying that AIDS was a problem and it went undetected and rampant in the Patpong district. How the govt is resolving it now I don't know.

As for Amsterdam, it may be highly regulated, but don't forget that the sex slave trade is alive and well in all parts of Europe.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Patpong Prostitution: Its Relationship to, and Effect on,
The Position of Women in Thai Society, by Cleo Odzer

The dissertation investigates gender relations in Thailand and focuses on a "red-light" district in Bangkok known as Patpong to determine the impact of prostitution on the position of women in Thai society.

Traditional Thai culture views women as "the hind legs of the elephant" and grants them less rights and opportunities than men.

The sexual service industry provides women with a higher income than would otherwise be available; it offers them chances for independence; and presents them with alternatives to marriage, an institution which legally deprives them of rights belonging to single women.

My original hypothesis stated that, in view of the growth of the sexual service industry in Thailand during the past two decades, women's status should have been positively affected.

The hypothesis is disproved due to the power of stigma and the fact that ideas concerning women's equality are slow to take root in the country. Because the right to promiscuous sexuality is granted to
men but withheld from women, Thai culture clings to notions of "good" and "bad" women, which results in prostitutes and ex-
prostitutes going to great lengths— when away from the job— to give evidence of fitting a "good girl" image.

Enforcing existing laws or legalizing the profession will
do little to change the fact of prostitution itself.

Until women have the same recognized rights as men, including the right to
sexuality, commercial sex will continue to exist and uphold the present inequality.

  61. Wow. That Toby Keith quote really exonerated him in MY eyes! He's really a open-minded fellow. Silly me for thinking otherwise!

"I'm sure all of us have heard blacks criticize other blacks for "acting white", so, shove it, Ernie. If you want to sling cheap political insults in every thread, You. Are. On."

How many fucking black people do YOU know, J?

You're SO right. Racism is ALWAYS somewhat excuseable, right? And Toby sounded SO articulate and erudite in that interview you cited. WOW. He and Kid Rock probably hang out together and discuss Proust and Voltaire and whatnot.

Go keep thumping your Bible, enlist in the military so you can fight McCain's impending war in Iran and hopefully die there, and kiss my lily-white liberal ass.

And BRING it. I DO so love a good argument with a douchey McCain supporter, and I'm sure as fuck not intimidated by the likes of you!
