I'm not usually much for posting trailers and things because there are other sites that do it much better. This one though will make you laugh a little and so it is worth the two minutes. It is the trailer to Babylon A.D.
I love me some good sci fi and some Vin Diesel (Pitch Black is AMAZING, Chronicles of Riddick is HORRIBLE), so I'm trepidatious. Also, I just read an interview with Matthieu Kassovitz (the awkwardly cute guy in Amelie) who directed this and said the studio made him pull out anything deep or interesting out of the script, and they took out an important 15 minutes of footage. Might wait for director's cut on DVD.
Babylon A.D. has already flopped in France and it was the director's cut. Critics were really harsh with the movie, calling it a cheap Blade Runner knock off. The comparision to The Children of Men, which also dealt with a similar topic was also devastating.
Ha, the mere idea of a Vin Diesel flick trying to compare to Blade Runner or Children of Men is hysterical. (Although, DN, I LOVED Pitch Black as well.) I'm going to enjoy it, because I love stinky cheese movies.
OMG - I'd ask when it opens but something like this can't be a studio release. Can it?
ReplyDeleteLOL, Merlin, it's a fake trailer. Unfortunately. The actual Babylon A.D. is a sci-fi thriller.
ReplyDelete*sigh* for one brief and shining moment, there was Camelot.
ReplyDeleteThat's 2 minutes I will NEVER GET BACK! Grrrr! Lame.
ReplyDeleteThat really did sound like Vin Diesel.

ReplyDeleteThis promises to be a hot mess -- the director hates the studio.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere in my future there's a T shirt that reads "I'm Vin Diesel. Don't f**k with me."
