Keep Telling Yourself That

Do you have the new issue of Allure? Yeah, me either, but if you did you would see they have an interview with Carrie Underwood. I know, I know. Who the hell is going to spend the equivalent of a gallon of gas just so they can read an interview with Carrie Underwood. Hey, but they probably have perfume samples in there. A coupon or two. Still not worth it is it? Someone thought so. They probably lost their job by now.

Anyway, since she is on the cover, I guess they had to interview her which means that being the guinea pig that I am, I read it for you. Do you know how many women's magazines I read now? My basement smells like a perfume factory that had a moldy winter.

Anyway, Carrie whines in the interview that she can't get a date. You know the same old crap that every celebrity trots out there when they are single so that we can show appropriate sympathy for them and pretend they are just like us. Carrie takes it a step further though and say she is convinced that the reason she is single is because she is a celebrity.

Uh huh. And it has nothing to do with the fact that no one wants anything to do with you and that as far as I can tell you have no friends who are not actually on the payroll and thus, have to pretend to like you. Have you ever seen a photo with Carrie Underwood just hanging out and doing stupid stuff with her girlfriends? Nope. Every photo you ever see of Carrie Underwood is her alone. The reason for this, as Tony Romo and Chace Crawford discovered along with everyone else who meets her is that she is a royal pain in the ass.

The funny thing is she only has her success because of the American people calling into Idol. Right now though, she could give a crap about them. The only thing she cares about is herself, and I hope that she doesn't honestly believe what she is spewing about being a celebrity is what is keeping guys at bay.

  1. Crap, there's an old saying on the tip of my tongue that is a list of things to "beware of" and one of them is "women with no friends." I can't remember the rest of it, and Google is not helping. I know there's a warning about some kinds of men in there too, but y'all have too many possible flaws for me to narrow it down. ;)

  2. Don't blame me. I voted for Bo. His rendition of "Vehicle" was the best A.I. performance EVER.

Generic, generic, generic. Every other girl I see is more interesting in both looks and personality than Carrie freaking Underwood. Even her NAME is boring.

  3. There's also an interview where she states Tony Romo still calls her all the time but she doesn't always pick up the phone! Jeez, what a bitch. I mean Jess may be the dumbest girl alive but I don't think she's a bitch. She's too dumb to be mean. You just know that Carrie said that as a stab in the back to Jessica. And she wonders why she's single? Not because she's a celebrity but because she's a mean selfish bitch.

  4. I don't like Carrie. That is all. Except, someone needs to tell her that there are lots of celebrities who aren't single.

  5. I have never understood the Carrie hate but that's just me. heck, I like Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Aniston too... maybe I am just boring? ;-)

  6. Eh. You can keep Underwood and Aniston, but I LOVE Jennifer Garner! Hellllooo? ALIAS, anyone? She was hot as hell in that show! She wasn't always all about playgrounds and farmer's markets. Not that those things aren't lovely and all. And I adore Violet, which helps.

  8. not boring at all - I too like Jen and Jen/

Miss Carrymy Under-roos tho??? That's a whole nother story - I hate bitchy girls, unless they are funny bitchy girls (they have friends) and Under-roos always struck me as the type of girl who would flirt w/ my man behind my back and then blow him in the parking lot just cause she knew it would cause drama.

    What??? yeah I have issues...

  9. Carrie Underwood just LOOKS like a pain in the ass. She always looks like she doesn't want to be there and when people interview her she gives off a snotty vibe.

  13. @ mooshki, the saying I always heard was that you should beware a woman with no female friends or one who says "I don't know why, but I really just get along with guys better for some reason" because that's the woman that will sleep with your man. Not even because she wants him but just because she can. This goes along with irishstayc2's theory, but I personally am not even sure I see Carrie letting her own boyfriend touch her let alone giving it up to someone else, so I don't know if it applies to her.

Now to be fair, I haven't read the article and am not going to, but a lot of times when celebs whine that they can't get a date because of said celeb status, they're usually just pointing out the awkwardness as far as dating 'regular' people. You can't tell if that person is really into you or just your fame and (supposed) money. And I tend to agree with this theory. If I were a celeb I'd probably have that same doubt in the back of my head, though all the other celebs are just one big circle of disease and infestation so I would just have to buy a vibrator and call it a day because it's clear that no one can be trusted and I just won't be dating at all.

I almost want to meet Carrie now because it seems that SO many people are convinced she's a bitch, and I don't necessarily see 'bitch' so much as someone who is just on the milquetoast and humorless side, the kind of person that never gets the joke and takes everything super-super seriously. Those people mean well, but they come off cold and dry because of it. I do like her music though, I must admit.

  14. i can't believe she is so conceited that she has to hurt someone else/...jessica simpson. jealousy makes you say all kinds of stupid things and jessica is so much better looking than that stringbean that carrie can't stand it. tony romo better thank his lucky stars he got away from her.

  15. she does seem to whine a lot about not getting dates, getting dumped, and getting cheated on ... must be a way for her to "connect" with her country-music fans
