Maybe She Got Tired Of Playing The Hooker

The NY Post yesterday reported that Silda Spitzer not only knew that the ex-Governor loved him some hookers, but also just didn't care. Didn't care? Does this mean she was in the marriage for the fame and fortune and a life in Albany? I'm guessing that it is because Eliot hadn't touched her in about ten years and she kind of liked it that way. What did they have? Two kids? That was probably enough sex for her.

The only other possible reason I can come up with is that she might have some kind of monogamy isn't all that it is cracked up to be and so she understood when Eliot gave her the line about needing to be with other people. Unless. Nah. Couldn't be. Do you think she was seeing someone on the side? The new Governor of NY had affairs with women. Wouldn't it be crazy if one of the women was Silda?

Who the hell names their kid Silda anyway? You just know that kid is in for a lifetime of schoolyard beatings. That is probably the one thing she had in common with Eliot. That name must have been a real pleasure growing up also. What rhymes with Eliot? Smelliiot. Love it.

I would be really interested to know how much she knew and if it was just kind of a resigned kind of feeling or if she was going on Craigslist trying to find one for her husband when it looked like he was maybe interested in her for some reason.

  3. Hey guys, would love it if you'd put your two cents in on my blog debate, Why Is Porn Legal But Prostitution Is Not?

I'll probably get around to blogging on this Silda Spitzer thing later in the day. Women who "approve" or just dont care--I've come across 'em!

  4. Well, I see Les is out of the joint and off his meds again... I'd say "welcome back" but ... that would be lying.

  5. Maybe it's just my advanced age (I just qualified for yenta), but hasn't anyone figured out that Elliot said "My wife doesn't mind" or "she doesn't understand me" or "we have an understanding"?

I agree she *may* have sensed he was involved elsewhere, but frankly he strikes me as a real pain just to be around the house and super, hyper-competitive with every one and every issue in his path. Once he's achieved everything else in life, what else is there to do but compete with his marriage vows?

I don't know about blogger comments, but you can ban people easily with haloscan.

And haloscan's just more fun anyway, what with laughing emoticons etc.

Anything to get rid of this idiot with way too much time on his hands and an inflated sense of his intellect and humour.

  11. I really must have missed something.

    Probably not. hehe.

About Silda Spitzer, part of it was probably being married to someone high profile. Divorce is tough enough when its just between two people, let alone the people who would be interested in a "high-profile" divorce. Part of it was probably not wanting to disrupt life for her three kids. I know a lot of people who wait to divorce when their kids go off to college. They think it'll make things easier.

Living with Eliot Spitzer couldn't have been easy. I'll bet she just told him, "You do what you do, and just leave me alone."

  12. I think that poor hooker got the raw end of the deal. Having to sleep or whatever else with that guy had to be gross.

Silda has the life and credit cards. I'd look the other way too if I could move to NYC with some rich guy.

Go have fun honey, I'll be in the Saks Shoe Department.

  15. I would agree that Silda knew and was looking the other way until their girls got safely on their way -- but no way, if he was going bareback with an assortment of professionals.

That's just asking for an STD and worse. I still think she thought (at worst) that it was the Designated Young Blonde (there's always one -look at Gov. Corzine's car accident) in the office, germ free with an apartment he was helping her with.

  17. Enty, your rant is based on believing what appeared in the Post. I don't believe it. And I really take issue with people always blaming the wife for the actions of the husband. He's responsible for his life; not her.

  18. Maybe she knew he used callgirls and didn't realize it was prostitution. If I was married and 'the spouse' I'd get damn sick of going to all the boring parties/fundraiser dinners/whatevers and be so happy to have my partner hire an escort. It'd be win/win. They get an attractive date paid to be attentive and polite and I'd get to spend my time the way I want to.

I don't get why people are so confused. Some of us just aren't meant to be arm candy or don't want to.

  19. Eliot was ratted out for this article ...
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/02/13/AR2008021302783.html

The question is ... who are clients 1-8?
