Gwyneth Paltrow had been on her best behavior for the entire promotional tour for Iron Man and so the executives at Paramount wanted to say thanks. They asked her if they could throw her a party, and she said, "yes." They asked her what kind of booze she wanted at the party and she gave them an answer. They asked her which of her friends and family she wanted invited, and she told them. Paramount even arranged separate red carpets so she could make sure she wasn't photographed with her husband. Total cost for the party $120,000. 30 of her closest friends and family were there including her in-laws.
Where was Gwyneth? She decided that she would rather go out to dinner with her husband and Robert Downey Jr. That's right. She blew the party off and Paramount wasn't happy. Gwyneth said she never promised to be there. Just because you don't use the word promise doesn't make it better. She knew perfectly well they were expecting her to show up and her family was expecting her to show up. Apparently Gwyneth though is getting a little of that diva again. It's been so long since she was in a movie that made more than $5, she is going to milk this Iron Man thing for all it is worth. She better hope it is a huge hit.
Well this is just rude, it would be different if she was unwell or something like that.
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't she like being photographed with her husband ?
This is shocking, but I've read she was always like that, very much a spoiled celebrity child now grown up and feeling very entitled.
ReplyDeleteI can't STAND her. Period. Every SINGLE time she opens her mouth, I have an overwhelming urge to shove my fist through her teeth. I wanted to see Iron Man, but since she's in it.... I'll just wait until it comes on cable....
ReplyDeleteThe year she rambled on and on at the Oscars was the last year I even attempted to watch it. I find her really, really annoying.
ReplyDeleteShe's such an entitled, no talent slag.
ReplyDeleteWTF? It's bad enough to blow off publicity that you've agreed to, but to blow off her friends and family?! Not okay.
ReplyDeleteI used to really like her and her elitist comments didn't even bug me. Lately...yuck. Lainey had a thing the other day about an interview with her and Maggie Gyllenhaal (sp?) and Liv Tyler where they were asked what super power they would want. Gwyneth was all, "oh, not xray vision, that would be dishonest." Oh relax!!
ReplyDeleteAnd now just being rude not only to her employers but to family. Yuck. I guess you would be a bad person were you to utilize xray vision if you had it but it's just a-ok to give people the shaft.
She needs to get over herself or just go away.
Her movies never make any money.
ReplyDeleteI'm confused...doesn't want to be photographed with her husband, disses her in-laws...but goes out to dinner with her husband and co-star? SO confused. If this is true on any level, we should be calling him Cuckold Martin instead of Chris.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've heard - saying "Gwyneth Paltrow is an ass" is a little like saying "the sun is hot". She's a horrible example to all fellow Librans. Obnoxious twit. Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteI like her as an actress, but not as a human being. She seems phony beyond belief.
ReplyDeletei went to lower school with her for a bit- even back then she was so phony and taken with everything qwynnie...
ReplyDeletemmm this story sounds a little fishy to me
ReplyDeleteI think she sucks and she probably would do this, but she ditched her bday party thrown by paramount and went out to dinner w/ robert downey jr, her costar in the new movie made by paramount??? sounds like a publicist wanted her name, paramount, iron man, and robert downey jr's name in the press

Gwyneth is one of those 'starlets' that refuse to believe that they have reached such pinnacles in their careers because of who they are. She just acts as if she is some kind of acting prodigy and runs off at the mouth because she feels she's the epitome of class. Bitch, please!
ReplyDeleteStudios need to start drawing up contracts in which stars that renege on their agreements are punished monetarily and/or passed up for meaty roles. I'm sure that these 'actors' would fall into line real quick.
She is becoming a caricature of herself
ReplyDeleteI can't stand her. I think getting an Oscar went up to her head. My sister saw the movie that she won an Oscar for and she said she didn't think she deserve the Oscar for the acting she did.
ReplyDeleteAny movie with her I will not see.
Sylvia, she won for one of the best movies ever made - Shakespeare in Love. Don't miss it just because she's in it. It's truly a wonderful film.
ReplyDeleteTwisted I really can't stand her LOL.
ReplyDeleteWell then that's not gonna work...lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat sealed it for me was that I read an interview where the interviewer asked her all her favorite things and when they asked her favorite candy she said: "I don't like candy."
ReplyDeleteWho doesn't like candy? Some people don't EAT candy, but I can't think of a person who doesn't LIKE candy. So either she's lying or she's a big uptight goody-goody.
Feck her.

She comes off as just insufferable; a snob even when she's doing charity work like the time she was photographed reading for a group of children. That speaks volumes for her PR team -- all that money and motivation can't create a better image!
ReplyDeleteI remember reading in Allure years ago that a girl she went to school with reported that Gwyneth had once looked at this girl's plump body and then at her own, and exclaimed that it was so strange how two girls the same age could have such different shapes.
ReplyDeleteI despise her too, and don't even think she is beautiful at all.
that is what u call a true spence girl-
ReplyDeleteps- i don't know of any "plump" spence girls- i don't think they were allowed in! i think she makes things up whenever she feels like it- like her age- she gets younger all the time funny thing is we are the same age - but i am the only one getting older... hmmm
ReplyDeleteshe's insufferable.
ReplyDeleteanyone remember when she was quoted on how wonderful it is to live in England while subtley putting down America??
that was IT for me. Prior to that, I would wonder if she was misquoted but you just have to start to believe the preponderance of the evidence at some point.
I believe that she did this. She's issued a denial from her publicist and I'm sure that her inlaws and the other 'close friends' that were snubbed were far less suprised by this behavior than we are.
can't stand her and I cannot understand Lainey's obsession with her.
I didn't even know she was in Iron Man.. that's why she's been around on the gossip blogs lately.
ReplyDeleteWhy would she want a separate red carpet so that she wouldn't be photographed with her husband?
Tsk tsk, blow off your own party.
Actually the oscar she received for Shakespeare is widely regarded in Hollywood as a fluke and total mistake, given the other, superior performances that year in the same category.
ReplyDeleteGwyn looks like she tastes bad.
ReplyDeleteHow did she come out of the Blythe Danning's womb? Wouldn't some class have been left over?
