Heterosexually attached for a long, long time, he recently faced his inner gay and admitted the truth. His partner apparently took it well. As well as any woman can under the circumstances. She felt much better when she found out how much of the bank account she was entitled to. And given that he was the one walking, and he is the one who’s famous, he’s also the one who has to pay. A lot.
So now he’s broke – relatively speaking. In Hollywood terms, I mean. Lost his job, no work on the horizon, he seriously considered coming out as a way of “reinventing his image”, not for gay rights but because he needs the money. Only problem is, he was told over and over again that “no one will care if you’re gay”.
On the flipside, a fake Hollywood romance with a famewhore like Denise Richards for example won’t fly either since the ex will flip her sh*t and out her himself, preferring to be passed over for a mo over another woman. Me too!
He was encouraged to do Dancing with the Stars but pride got in the way. If things don’t turn around, it’ll be a last resort next season.
"lost his job" makes it sound like someone whose show got canceled.
ReplyDeleteDylan McDermott?
ReplyDeleteDominic Monaghan?
ReplyDeleteNO way it's Dylan McDermott. Really, think about it, it's some one who is older and their career has dried up. Does not fit you must aquit.... So not Dylan.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean they are married and she legally has access to the money after a divorce or is he going to pay for her silence?
ReplyDeletebob barker
ReplyDeleteno no no, i'm kidding
Eric McCormack? he's got a couple movies...no one would care if he was gay. def out of work. married 10yrs. i can see dancing with the stars wanting him and def think he would turn that down. wife would be happy to know she'll be getting half of all that Will and Grace money.
ReplyDeleteDominic Monaghan wasn't married to Evangeline Lilly, so I don't think she'd get any money out of it.
ReplyDeleteAlso Dominic just got cast in the Wolverine movie. Oh well, back to the drawing board. :)
ReplyDeleteFrom Lainey (Hee!): PS. Brendan Fraser is not gay and broke. Those sh*tty Mummy movies make a LOT of money! Also not Matt Leblanc – residuals from Friends will keep him pudgy forever. And not the Hoff either. Baywatch and Germans who listen to his ass cheese music have loaded him for life.
ReplyDeletecap- that sounds really good. I could see that. I def think this was a marriage, not just together for a long time.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI think Eric McCormack is still married - are they even separated? To me this sounds like they're publicly separated or divorced.
ReplyDeletethis one is impossible. there are NO clues whatsoever in the blind. might as well just take a dart to a dartboard full of names.
ReplyDeleteworthless.
Eddie Murphy?
ReplyDeleteDermot Mulroney, he and Catherine Keener are split. And my favorite...Bud Bundy. It wouldn't surprise me if it was ole Bud. With him, the "no one would care" is totally correct.
ReplyDeleteLost his job is a HUGE clue. Anyone who was on a show that is in syndication will NEVER be broke in any way, shape or form.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking more along the lines of someone with a contract job, such as a newsperson, talk show host, TV host.
It can't be a musician because musicians don't "lose their job."
Or it could be someone on an ensemble show, like Grey's...hey...how about Isiah Washington...I'm kidding...or maybe I'm not...hmmmm...now THAT would be hilarious!
Catherine Keener is famous. I'm thinking the wife is a complete lay person.
ReplyDelete"broke" in hollywood terms. could be cancelled show + losing half your assets in divorce + no real prospects. sitcoms typecast so many actors.
ReplyDeletehmmm what about Rob Thomas - the blind doesn't say Actor .....
ReplyDeleteor even better nick lachey hahaha i would LOVE that
ReplyDeleteBrendan Fraser? Though what job did he lose...
ReplyDeleteThere's an update that says it is not the Rock. This makes me think it is the Hogan...
ReplyDeleteThe wording of "attached" and "partner" make me think its an unmarried couple - otherwise why not use married and wife ??
ReplyDelete**Just so everyone knows, Lainey has ruled out Brendan Fraser, Matt LeBlanc, and The Hoff.
ReplyDeleteIce Angel: Isiah Washington totally fits! His homophobia goes waaaay back though.
I'm leaning towards Dermot Mulroney.
"On the flipside, a fake Hollywood romance with a famewhore like Denise Richards for example won’t fly either since the ex will flip her sh*t and out her himself"
ReplyDeleteI do not think it is a coincidence to mention Denise Richards or the typo, "her himself", which is not Lainey's style (unless the guy dresses like a woman). I am thinking it could be someone Denise has dated or a past John??
This was in PageSix this morning:
ReplyDelete"JENNIFER Aniston's one-time love, Tate Donovan , is back on the market. Donovan, 44, has been holed up with friends in a New York apartment after his wife of two years, 26-year-old actress/stylist Corinne Kingsbury, kicked him out of the couple's Hollywood Hills home, according to an insider. "Her motives [for marrying him] became obvious," said the source. "She squeezed everything she could out of him, including a new BMW." Neither Kingsbury nor Donovan's agents responded to multiple calls and e-mails. "
Hulk Hogan?
ReplyDeleteno one will care if you are gay to me means either they are ahasbeen or someone we always thought was gay anyway.
ReplyDeleteHugh Jackman?
Pierce brosnan?
no idea.
kathryn too funny I guessed the same. He's always rung the gaydar for me but my cohorts say he's hosting American Gladiator, whatever that is. Oh for all you blinds guessers I posted a link above for Musto's Village Voice blind items. It is LOL funny.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.villagevoice.com/nyclife/0808,302315,302315,15.html
ReplyDeletehogan is protecting his assets -not gay. look for that couple to get back together after the court battle is over for their douched up son's accident.
ReplyDeleteHugh Jackman lost his singging shitty show and Pierce lost out as Bond.
that's all i got.
later...
Really? No one else thinks "it's NOT the Rock" is a major clue??
ReplyDelete1. Since the word "Hollywood" is mentioned, this is an actor. Out of a job could mean that his TV gig has been cancelled or his character was killed off. (I guess it's not John Schneider).
ReplyDelete2. This is someone most of us know if he was encouraged to do Dancing with the Stars, and his age range is young enough to be considered dating Denise Richards.
3. Out of a job but lots of money there -- or residuals -- and married long enough for the non-famous wife to get a big chunk of change out of the divorce.
4. Child support is not mentioned, and for his friends to say that "coming out" would be no big deal, then this might be someone with no kids who could be damaged by this information.
5. Mike Myers fits the bill, but he continues to direct films and I would imagine is still in demand in Hollywood. Eddie Murphy?
I think it's Johnny Knoxville. Didn't he get divorced from his wife of 12 years? And also, would we care or be surprised if he was gay? I think the Dancing With the Stars/Pride got in the way is a big clue....who would consider that losing the battle?
ReplyDeleteJohnny Knoxville on DWTS would be some television worth watching!
ReplyDeleteDYLAN MCDERMOTT.
ReplyDelete1) He & his wife, Shiva Rose, separated in September, after 12 years of marriage. (They were together for 15 yrs - "a long, long time.")
2) He's famous; she's not.
3) His ABC show "Big Shots" was (very) recently CANCELLED.
4) According to IMDB, he has NO work on the horizon... at ALL.
5) This particular "pretty boy" never did anything for me, so I'm not that shocked. (I'd probably brag about my "well-tuned" GAYDAR if I weren't still so upset that NATE BERKUS is gay ...Now that is just WRONG!)
Curious,
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on both accounts:
-I think it is McDermott and
-am also upset that Nate Berkus is gay. How could I have missed that?
Dylan McDermott is man-pretty. I'd slice a piece of McDermott meat off for myself, and hey, I'd even be his beard, ex be damned!
ReplyDeleteThe first name that popped into my head was Anderson Cooper. He totally doesn't fit any of the clues, though.
ReplyDeleteEw, not into McDermott.
ReplyDeleteNate lost his boyfriend and came close to losing his own life in the So. Asia tsunami. Horrible and tragic. Took him a long time to to get past it. Love him; he's such a good guy.
MIKE MYERS!!!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteMike Myers isn't a bad guess, except he hasn't lost a job and he has PLENTY of work "on the horizon." (He's finishing up "The Love Guru" right now.)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear I'm not alone in my NATE BERKUS appreciation! :) I live in Chicago and I remember seeing him YEARS ago when he was a guest-diner on "Check, Please!" (a local PBS restaurant-review show). I thought he was an absolute DOLL, so I was pretty much giddy when he landed on Oprah! It took me another YEAR before I could accept the fact that he played for the "other team," though(!)...
Yes, that was really awful when he lost his boyfriend in the Tsunami. The only (small) positive thing that came out of it was he no longer had to "play straight"...although he doesn't really address that either way. Which is fine with me - As long as I get to see his adorable-ness on TV, I'm happy!
Although Lainey thinks Mike Myers is an a**hole and has previously referred to him in 2 BI's, It's not Mike Myers. Also, he just recently wrapped up a film in Ontario.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's McDermott either. Although some of you ladies think McDermott is "ho-humm", he's still a pretty sweet hunk o'man and as a gay person I can tell you we'd LOVE to have him playing for our team. So in his case, coming out WOULD be a BIG deal to us.
If no one cares that this B.I. guy is gay, it means he's probably not much to look at and is past his prime. Like imagine if George Michael had just come out, we'd all be like: "Ewww, whatever you hideous walrus!"
this was posted on lainey...but no long term gal ??
ReplyDelete"Jared Leto clinging to his career, trying to make some moves during a week when the industry is all aflutter. But since his obituary has already been written, both his singing and his acting potential don’t hold much promise"
