Wow a kindness at Fashion Week. B list actress who does television most of the time. She might actually be C list but she has a fairly unique look and had one show which gives her staying power for a little longer. Plus one very memorable episode on a great show. Didn't actually happen at a show so I will save you the time of wading through all the actual shows. This was a party. Happened in the restroom. Our actress was standing at the sink with another woman and chatting with her. The woman said she was leaving on an international flight and was already running late. The woman left. A minute or two went by and as our actress was leaving she saw a purse on the sink. She knew from her chatting that it belonged to the woman she had been chatting with. She grabbed the purse and made her way back into the party. The place was packed and she couldn't see the woman. She remembered that the woman was leaving to go catch a plane and so went outside to look. All of the cabs were about a block away all lined up and she saw the woman about two people back from getting into a taxi. Our actress took off down the street. After about three steps one of her heels broke and she went tumbling down onto the pavement in her designer dress. She took off the other heel and went running down the street yelling the entire time. If this were a movie she would have only caught the woman at the airport or something, but the reality is that everyone waiting for a taxi looked up including the owner and she actually realized at that moment she had forgotten her purse and headed back to the actress. Our actress had a ripped dress, no shoes, and a scraped hand but delivered the purse to the woman. The woman was extremely grateful and said the flight could wait, and that she wanted to make sure our actress was ok. They took a cab back to the party where the woman made sure our actress got her hand looked at by someone and made sure she got back with her friends okay as well. The woman offered to pay for new heels or dress, but our actress declined.
Alicia Witt
Wow! Did anyone get this?
ReplyDeleteI don't even know who she is! IMDb here I come!
ReplyDeleteNo, because Alicia Witt is NOT B list. How could anyone say that she is B list???? I mean, Philip Seymour Hoffman who has won an Oscar is B list and Ent lumps her in with HIM?? I get so baffled by him sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI have loved Alicia for years. I am very happy to find out this blind was her.
ReplyDeleteShe's a B-lister? I don't even know who she is!
ReplyDeleteShe was so cute & funny on Cybill - I always thought she would have been great on That 70's show as Donna.
ReplyDeleteI just did a GIS for her....unique look? Looks dime a dozen Hollywood to me. She was in Vanilla Sky, which I've seen a bunch of times, and I still didn't recognize her.
ReplyDeleteWhat movies/shows does she come out on?
ReplyDeleteHappy V-day to everybody!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so who is the other woman? I hate when he reveals half the blind - like we know Julia Roberts is the one who (while married), had the studio fly her to Europe to try to convince some actor to join her in a project (as well as in bed), but we never found out who the actor was. I HATE that!
ReplyDeleteHe said B list and then said "she might actually be C list"...
ReplyDeleteShe must be an E-lister if none of us know who the heck she is.
ReplyDeleteWhat was the memorable episode on a show? I remember her from Urban Legend and that's about it.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I have liked her since she was the lead in Urban Legend a loooong time ago! She was really great in the upside of Anger too.
ReplyDeletetotally sweet :)
ReplyDeletebut srsly Alicia Witt = B list? Because of Four Rooms? lol I loved that movie. And Cybil. actually, my dad was in love with the Cybil show, but I really think that was love with TV in general.
The dad from that show...i've seen him lately..Oh CSI, he was that creepy lawyer guy that was stalking (the girl from species, who 15 years later looks even better. i won't imdb because i need to load the dishwasher instead of sit on the net lol)
Natascha Henstridge (or something like this)
ReplyDeleteShe was Paul Atrades' creepy little sister in David Lynch's Dune. I always have to watch this movie when I stumble across it on TV. Kinda like a train wreck; you just can't look away...
ReplyDeleteLynne
I count SIX friends of Dorothy's up there, lol
ReplyDeleteI loved the Cybill sitcom, too. And so I'm glad to see that Alicia Witt is still doing things. (Though I wouldn't call her b-list either, definitely C since she hasn't hit with anything recently).
ReplyDeleteIf Jezebel James (her Gilmore Girls produced show) had aired already, then maybe B. But it's not going to start til late March, and it sounds like it may be dumped.
nothing sacred: it's either Alan Rosenberg who is/was head of SAG or Tom Wopat (dark-haired Duke of Hazzard).
She's on Law & Order: Criminal Intent now...I don't know what the memorable scene she was in is though.
ReplyDeleteI get the B list grade... she's on L&O CI now, and she works pretty steadily. I always remember as the girl from Mr. Holland's Opus, personally. I think the memorable TV episode was Ally MacBeal?
ReplyDeleteEmily Deschanel?
ReplyDeleteI know she was at Fashion Week and she's done a few movies, but she's better known for TV and has a bit of a unique look about her.
Plus, it sounds like something she would totally do.
I think the memorable scene was in The Sorpranos, where she ended up topless and having sex with one of the guys. Definitely memorable.

ReplyDeleteI agree with the the memorable scene being from Sopranos. She has a pretty full body of work and yes is currently on Law & Order. There are rumors that she turned down the role of Mary Jane in the Spidy movies but I don't know if it's true. I do remember her being considered for the part though.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the woman was concerned about Alicia's hand because she knew that Alicia is a classicly trained pianist or just concerned about the scrape. I used to think that Julia Tiles was the poor-mans Alicia Witt.
Yay Alicia! I'd say C lister at best, she really doesn't have the name recognition, though she shows up in some photos on here from time to time.
ReplyDeleteThe Sopranos? "where she ended up topless and having sex with one of the guys"- you mean like half the women at the Badda Bing? Hardly memorable. I watched the whole series beginning to end and had no idea that Alicia Witt was in any episodes. I had to look her up on IMDb...she's pretty, and evidently kind too, so good for her. It looks though that her recent TV stuff has been Law & Order. Never watched Cybil, so no comment there. The mention of Four Rooms helps though...for some reason I sort of remember that.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea who Alicia Witt is but from other people's comments I gather she's B-list by resume and C-list name recognition? So I cn see where Ent is coming from wth that one. It's hard to decide whether to go by body of work or general popularity/notoriety when doing the list thing.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I've seen her in anything but Cybill's show, but she was good in it. She is a wonderful pianist and apparently a good person as well; nice story, thanks for the reveal Enty.
ReplyDeleteI've always got the vibe Alicia Witt was a kind person, nice to know it is true.
ReplyDeleteI wish her well on L&O:CI.

ReplyDeleteI agree that calling Alicia Witt a B-lister is a little bit of a stretch and that probably threw off a lot of the guesses. However, it was a good deed and it definately is worth mentioning.
ReplyDeleteSometimes she really sparks for me, but most of the time her bad acting is a big distraction. I liked her on Cybil, and almost as much in Urban Legends, but I think as she got older her lack of ability started showing more. She reminds me of Rachel Blanchard. They both have "something," but reliably good acting isn't it.
ReplyDeleteAs a child Alicia also starred in "Dune" so that may add to her "B-list" status even though it wasn't mentioned in the BI.
ReplyDeleteHere's another little fact about Alicia: After not working for at least 5 years after "Cybill" was cancelled, she actually turned down the role of Mary Jane in the 1st of the blockbuster Spider-Man trilogy.
What was she thinking?
she was seated with the regular folk at a jimmy buffett concert, i want to say just after "cybill" went off the air, i don't think anyone else recognized her, but she seemed nice enough...
ReplyDeletepretty and nice!she already has a place in Heaven!
ReplyDeleteShe had a pretty funny appearance in 2 and a half men a few years back as a teacher turned stripper.
