Last Interview Of Heath Ledger

This interview with Heath Ledger took place about two months ago. It is the most recent interview I could find, although I am sure he probably gave some magazine interviews that have yet to come out because of the inevitable delay between interview and printing of monthly magazines. When I watch the interview I see a guy who is clearly uncomfortable and slightly distracted. I will let you watch for yourself and draw your own conclusions.

  2. I remember watching this interview a few months ago and noting that he seemed more than just nervous (read:drugs) It's so easy to comment on the downward spiral of people I don't like that I was completely oblivious to how antsy he seems here.
    sigh.

  3. Does les sukno stand for stalker? [shrug]

He does seem antsy, but is it due to drugs or some kind of breakdown?

  4. My thoghts on this tragedy are that it was accidental, he does look uncomfortable, almos as if he's having anxiety problems. I read somewhere he mentioned in an interview that he couldn't sleep while he was doing the Joker and had to take ambien (sp?) but it would only work for an hour so he would take another one. From my own experience I think his anxiety must've been pretty bad and was not being treated correctly and that's why he wasn't able to sleep. I took ambien and it would only work for 4 to 5 hours but I was told not to take more, so I can see how HE would take more. I feel so very bad about this and can't figure out which is worse accidental or suicide since they both could have been prevented.

  9. Ugh, the poor guy seems beyond exhausted. He often looked uncomfortable and fidgety when he was being interviewed, even in his early days, but this is sad to see. I read that he barely slept while he was playing the Joker, that can take a major toll on a body.

  10. This interview doesnt necessary mean he was on drugs.

  11. there ARE behavioural indicators that cops, etc use to tell when someone is on drugs.

there are inevitable things that happen: if you are on heroin your pupils will be pin pricks. if you are on cocaine they will be unusually dilated.

he has the heroin itch in that interview.

i say this with no judgment but it's plainly obvious to anyone who knows about the behavioral manifestations of narcotics.

  12. I just read a very perceptive commentary in the NY Times about Heath Ledger. The last part seemed especially apt:

"The dismaying sense of loss and waste at Mr. Ledger’s death at the age of 28 comes not only because he was so young, but also because his talent was large and as yet largely unmapped. It seems inevitable that he will now be inscribed in the cult of the beautiful stars who died too young, alongside James Dean, Montgomery Clift and Marilyn Monroe. Even before his death, he had been ensnared in a pathological gossip culture that chews up the private lives of celebrities, and Tuesday’s news unleashed the usual rituals of media cannibalism.

Mr. Ledger’s work will outlast the frenzy. But there should have been more. Instead of being preserved as a young star eclipsed in his prime, he should have had time to outgrow his early promise and become the strange, surprising, era-defining actor he always had the potential to be. "

  13. I agree Jindi.. he does appear to have the heroin itch....I guess we won't find out for a little while exactly what was in his system at his time of death

there's another reason people are missing from sundance.

    hear that sound?

that's the sound of quite a few toilets flushing away.

expect the see a few people gain a lot of weight in the next month.
