Just because so many of you seem to be interested in the new music video from Ashlee Simpson, I am going to post it here. It is definitely a little strange. Enjoy. For some reason it seems really familiar.
off topic but another blind revealed? natl enquirer claims john edwards' mistress is knocked up. is there something in the air?
ashlee's sound reminds me of missing persons and the look of the video includes nods to such 80s flashbacks as The Cars' Shake It Up and Tom Petty's Don't Come Around Here No More.
that is the worst shit my ears have been subjecting to since i bought no name Qtips. Why do i get the feelin this weetard is gonna cover 99 Red/Ouft(sp?) Balloons??
I applaud her for trying something new and trying to go in a different direction, a reinvention of sorts. It may not be the best, or perfect, but it certainly is a good effort, and entertaining.
I'm so ashamed to say I liked it. Someone please kill me. The video was very retro and I felt as if I were behind the scenes in the fake studio--it was a weird, but not unpleasant feeling. It also reminded me of something that would be spawned from a Men At Work/Gwen Stefani/Missing Persons orgy.
Missing Persons was much better, but this isn't too awful for what it is. Better than expected. And Ashlee is less of a diva basket case than I thought.
har!
ReplyDeleteOh WD yr the best;)

ReplyDeleteat least it's better than anything Jessica has ever done.
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see her do it Live on SNL
cool video
ReplyDeleteShe looks really good in a straitjacket.
ReplyDeletecould she try a little harder for cred?
ReplyDeletewhat - now that she's a major pillhead like her boyfriend she's trying to be all SURREAL.
god, she can't even be real addict - if that isn't the definition of failure i don't know what is!
Yeah, it's def a retro vibe. I'm old enough to have tried to dance to that '80's techno-crap back in the day.
ReplyDeleteA frickin' rubik's cube? Try hard much?
I really love the song and video! I think they should change the ending with the straight jacket, kinda lame!
