Today's Blind Items

#1 This former A list award winning actress is now B list because she doesn't work much. She still has A list name recognition however even without a famous sidekick. What she doesn't have any more is a husband. Seems as if the husband has grown tired of the inflexibility of our actress and the pair are in the midst of a separation most likely leading to divorce.

#2 This trashy B list actress with the marriage from hell has sunk even lower than Paris looking for coke on a floor. What was a bad marriage with a horrible husband has turned into our actress being loaned out by the husband to pay off some debts. The actress has agreed because of the skeletons in her own closet which would ruin her career if they came to light. Well ruin her career for serious films. Wouldn't ruin her career if all she wanted to be was the host of Wild On or something.

  1. #2: Brooke Burke? Is she even B-list?

  2. 1, Deborah Messing, from Will and grace

2.I'm kinda stuck on this one.

  5. Nancy, I think you're right on both counts: Julia and Brittany. (I don't think Debra was ever A-list.)

#2 - do you mean loan out for sex? Its the 21st century, how can this be happening??

    Oh, its Hollywood, never mind.

Hi, I'm slow and/or out of it. Nancy and trashtalker, could you elaborate on the Julia and Brittany guesses? Like who was Julia's "famous sidekick" and what are the skeletons in Brittany's closet that she's trying to keep under wraps?

    ReplyDelete
  8. I saw on the national enquirer (real classy & reliable, I know, just bear with me) that Julia's husband was sick of her.

but you know what they say about smoke and fire and all that.

#2...I dunno, thats a tough one. I thought pam anderson (hahha) but she's definitely not B-list, or film acctress.

    #1 - Don't know

#2 - for Sure Trashy Pamela Anderson. I read somewhere that she went to bed with her now husband so he could pay off her gambling debts.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I love reading the guesses.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I went with Nicole for #1 and Brittany for 2

    ReplyDelete
  12. 1) Who Susan Sarandon's buddy in "Thelma & Louise"? Has she won any awards?
    2) Oh, hell to the no. She should walk away and go type and file for a living before letting anyone use her like that. And if he talks about her skeletons? She should beat him to it, write a script and sell it based on her own life. But after a legal separation -- otherwise this guy would try to get some of the money.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Julia is a great guess for #1, but Demi Moore is a possibility also, although I would think the separation would be due to her jealousy over his castmates rather than her inflexibility. Of course, she probably does wear the pants in the relationship.

Still doesn't answer the "sidekick" question.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I guess one of the things that's throwing me off is "the famous sidekick" clue. When did Julia have a sidekick?
I'm thinking its a TV actress who one a GG or an emmy.

    ReplyDelete
  15. 1- Courtenay and David..Jen being the Sidekick...is Dirt even on anymore?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Famous sidekick could refer to a close friend or her co-stars.

Like Julia as a guess. Don't think Demi was award winning. What about Gwyneth?

    ReplyDelete

OMG are you people brain dead?!? REMOVE HEAD FROM SPHINCTER, THEN READ THIS BLIND AGAIN--

its stating that #1 DOES NOT have a famous companion--a reference, in my belief, to Julia Roberts and her not-famous husband.

    STUPID STUPID STUPID

  19. 1. Gwyneth. I am pretty sure Julia Roberts is still A list.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Great call Megan. I change my vote.

  21. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Or... #1 could be Gwyneth Paltrow (who went through a few famous sidekicks--Brad, Ben). The "inflexibility" reference may refer to her being a yoga fanatic.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Chris Martin is fairly famous. So is David Arquette. Danny Moder, however, is not. I take "She still has A list name recognition however even without a famous sidekick" to mean that most really famous A-listers also have a famous significant other. So this actress doesn't have a famous SO.

    ReplyDelete
  24. trix, it doesn't mention anywhere if the husband is famous or anything... It says a 'famous sidekick'. I'm thinking Debra Messing, her sidekick being the guy who played Will (who's name eludes me at the moment...) Then again, Courtney Cox and David Arquette are a good guess too.

  26. sandra bullock? she was a-list for a bit and seems to have slid. her husband, jesse james, may be famous in certain circles. there have been internet rumblings about their demise for a while now.

    ReplyDelete
  27. it says she has "A list name recognition WITHOUT a famous sidekick" Is the sidekick the husband or someone she used to work with?

If it's an A-lister with a non-famous husband, the Julia makes sense

    2. Do you really think Pam Anderson would care if Rick wanted to use her to pay off debts? I think Brittany Murphy is a good guess.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yea why would #2 be a blind item when Pam came out and admitted that she met her new hubby that way. Think people think. If you saw it on the 5pm news then i dont think Enty would repeat it here in code...

    ReplyDelete
  29. I disagree with comment by the poster trix, who seems to be channelling anon's issues.

I think the word EVEN makes the blind for #1 that much more ambiguous. "even without a famous sidekick" to me can mean the actress is famous with or without her famous sidekick.

    ReplyDelete
  30. i took famous sidekick to mean - she once had a famous sidekick and this person is famous with or without them. the famous sidekick i thought was obviously - madonna.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anonymous2:26 PM

#1 I take "A name recognition even without a famous sidekick" to mean an A list now B list actress who is recognized as part of a duo. Like a Laverne & Shirley team. And that she is famous with or without her sidekick. Then again, the sidekick could be an animal.

But not a husband. Sidekick is something different than a husband.

    My two cents anyway.

#2 Britney Murphy is a good guess, but was she ever A list? What about Jennifer Love Hewitt? Who has a notoriously crappy husband?

    ReplyDelete
  32. 1. I took "a list name however even without a famous sidekick" to mean she still has name even though she's not doing film or dating or hanging out with another celebrity. Julia seemed to fit.

    2. Britney Murphy, I don't get that relationship. I understand that I don't know them, but it doesn't make sense in light of his past...

    ReplyDelete
  33. #1) Gillian Anderson? But not quite A or B list...

    ReplyDelete
  34. I like the Madonna guess. Would her famous sidekick have been Rosie or someone else?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Just a thought: What about Catherine Zeta-Jones? Maybe the sidekick references the T-Mobile (which makes the Sidekick).

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anonymous3:22 PM

Great guess trashtalker. A CZJ divorce would be huge.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I bet Trix is pulling out his/her hair at that comment about the sidekick possibly being an animal, acetomato777!

I thought Julia, too for #1.

Pam Anderson doesn't make sense for #2 because I don't think she is worried at this point about being seen as a sleazy sex symbol who won't get serious films. I could see Brittany Murphy with those aspirations, but I don't know anything about her marriage except it seems odd and mismatched.

    ReplyDelete
  38. #1 could definitely be Sandra Bullock. The blog makes no mention of whether the husband is famous or not famous. She was once A list and is now B list and her "famous sidekick" would've been Keanu Reeves, who has been in movies with her and they had been friends outside of work too.

    #2 Is Jules Asner married?

    ReplyDelete
  39. #1- Gina Davis

    #2- Britney Murphy

lainiekazan I think you're right about "Thelma & Louise" for the sidekick clue.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Southern Innominate,

Jules Asner is married to Steven Soderbergh.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Southern, Jules Asner is married to Steven Soderbergh. Hardly likely to be selling his wife to pay off debts.

    ReplyDelete
  42. "She has always been the president at home," teases her husband Dr. REZA JARRAHY. "No doubt about it. She doesn't need a TV show for that."

Quote from Geena Davis's husband on her role as president on "Commander In Chief"

    ReplyDelete
  43. If Sandra Bullock's sidekick could be Keanu Reeves then Julia Roberts' could be Richard Gere.

I immediately thought of Julia Roberts too.

    Dunno...

    ReplyDelete
  44. My guesses

#1 Nicole Kidman (sidekick) Naomi Watts used to be her bff. Not sure why they don't seem that close anymore...perhaps Naomi did the wrong thing by having a baby.

#2 I instantly thought of Jenna Jamison but hse's not married so I'm going with Britney Murphy.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Anonymous4:47 PM

No. 1 is about an "award winning actress." Does that mean Oscar, GG or Emmy only, or can it mean People's Choice Award, Golden Satellite Award, TV Guide Award and crap like that?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Anonymous4:57 PM

I think that "Sidekick" can either mean someone this actress worked with on a regular basis, had a professional partnership with, whose character is inextricably linked with another character (like Laverne & Shirley or Thelma & Louise)or hung out with...
For example Will & Grace, Martin & Lewis, Abbott & Costello, Jackie Gleason and Art Carney, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston, Affleck and Damon, Paris and Nicole.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anonymous4:57 PM

    P.S.
Ent, you have got to start using commas!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Reasons why it's not Julia:

Enty always names her as A+ in all items. He'd never drop her to B list.

Nicole Kidman it's not because she's been working nonstop, has a movie out now (Margot at the Wedding), another one coming out (Golden Compass) and has been shooting "Australia" with hugh Jackman in Australia for awhile now. She's got a very very busy career.

I'm more likely to go with a Debra Messing or Courtney Cox guess.

#2 Brittany Murphy. We all know how EL feels about her, her scumbag husband and all the debts and criminal wrongdoings in his past.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Jules Asner has been married to the academy award winning dirctor Steven Soderburgh for several years.

Sandra Bullock is one of the only women that can open a movie, like Jodi Foster, she's A list.

Sidekick is a wierd clue, like she works with the same person over and over.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Geena Davis won an Oscar as best supporting actress for her 1998 film The Accidental Tourist.

    ReplyDelete
  51. i think i found the answer to #1

    http://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2007/10/do-you-think-keith-urban-feels-like.html

    Nicole Kidman.

    ReplyDelete
  52. You guys are slow today. Julia Roberts' famous sidekick is George Clooney (reference their painful and only entertaining to one another interview of one another for Oprah). It's not Nicole Kidman, she works like a mule. Julia has not been working much and the new movie with Tom Hanks had better do well or else she really will be off the A-List.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I agree with the Catherine Zeta-Jones guess, probably tired of hubby's philandering. I like how many people guessed her to be the BI about the one who called every person on Mike's cell phone to say she's from the health department about whatever STD he has.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I think it is Gena Davis for number 1. She hasn't worked since the tv show was cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  55. 1 Reese Witherspoon
    2 Kathy Griffin

    ReplyDelete
  56. Anonymous9:34 PM

#1 Julia Roberts - she comes off as a huge pill and the only reason any man would put up with it would be because she is rich and famous.

#2 Whoever it is has to be a complete dummy for getting herself into that situation.

    ReplyDelete
  57. i'll go with julia because every chance she gets she tells anyone that will listen (bored) that OPRAH is her BEST friend, godmother to her kids... etc..boring........

    ReplyDelete
  58. Karen, it can't be Reese - she works like a dog. And Kathy Griffin isn't really considered an actress.

I thought of Julia and George Clooney as the sidekick right away. I have no guesses for #2.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I think Fabiola hit the nail on the head with his/her interpretation.

    "Fabiola Thing said...
I think that "Sidekick" can either mean someone this actress worked with on a regular basis, had a professional partnership with, whose character is inextricably linked with another character (like Laverne & Shirley or Thelma & Louise)or hung out with...
For example Will & Grace, Martin & Lewis, Abbott & Costello, Jackie Gleason and Art Carney, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston, Affleck and Damon, Paris and Nicole."

I think Debra Messing is a GREAT guess, however, she IS working and was just nominated for the Starter Wife. But I think we should be looking for someone like this - who is pretty much known for being part of a duo - like Will & Grace.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Trashtalker:

Brilliant guess with CZJ. She did the T-mobiel commericals and is no longer doing them. (I think>)

    She won an Oscar.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I think #1 is CZJ..."sidekick" refers to a phone, and she used to hawk for a phone service.

    ReplyDelete
  62. "I think #1 is CZJ..."sidekick" refers to a phone, and she used to hawk for a phone service."

    Purrrfect, pusssykatt! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  63. Trashtalker - I think you're probably right because Julia Roberts is still considered A list. Great job connecting the word sidekick to the T-Mobile phone and CZJ commercials!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hey, thanks! I usually suck at coming up with good blind item guesses. :P I guess time will tell which of these guesses is right, seeing as divorce is the most likely outcome.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze, Jr have not been seen together lately. Weren't they 'sidekicks' together in Scooby Doo moviies?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sarah Michelle Gellar finished filming an adaptation of The Girls Guide to Hunting and Fishing, and has 2 other movies coming out after that, so she's not having a problem finding work. Catherine Zeta-Jones sounds like the best bet (Oscar winner, doesn't work too much, when she does it's crud movies like No Reservations).

    ReplyDelete
  67. I like the Catherine Zeta-Jones guess too.

    ReplyDelete
  68. i know i'm late to the party, but here are my two cents:

nicole. the "sidekick" was tom cruise (being that a "sidekick" is usually someone smaller than the subject in question). people expected nicole to sort of just ... fade away after her divorce from tom, but, instead, she went on to win an oscar and the kind of critical acclaim that tom thinks is his due, so it fits the whole "having A list name recognition" even with her "sidekick" or tom to shore her up. she's also been referred to in other gossip columns (including, and not so obscurely, ted c.'s) as very ... well, "stiff," i guess. she's certainly not one to party down, and her current husband, as we all know, IS. so there's my take, for the two cents it's worth. lol.

oh, and yeah, brittany murphy for #2, poor thing.
