Studio 54
Yesterday, I made the comment that the Amy Winehouse photo with the Olsen twins reminded me of the combinations you used to see in the photos from Studio 54. I spent some time last night finding a few photos, but there are obviously plenty more which show an even odder assortment or combination of people.
Jerry Hall (pre-Mick Jagger) and Deborah Harry
John Travolta and Sylvester Stallone?
Clockwise from L to R - Halston, Jack Haley, Liza Minelli, Andy Warhol, and Bianca Jagger
New Years Eve
Liza Minelli and Mikhail Baryshnikov
The busboys
Rupert Smith and Tom Ford
Awesome shots..lol nice camel toe Cher.
ReplyDeleteOh, Jax, you beat me to it!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say the same thing.
LOL
Ah yes, the good old days of the late 70's, early 80's. I never got to Studio 54 - which was closed by the time I visited NY, but among the places I did get to were Limelight, Visage and Area. Area was the most bizarre place with THE most bizarre mix of people I've ever seen. They had theme nights. I happened to be there on circus night. Scary.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the pic of Diana Ross....haha drunk or mdma???
ReplyDeleteWow, there will NEVER be a club like Studio 54.... ever!
ReplyDeleteIt sucks that I was too young to ever have enjoyed it.
Thems were the days.
54 was awesome, there will never be another club like it.
ReplyDeleteEnt Stallone and Travolta did a movie together. the sequel to Saturday Night Fever.
Great pics! Thanks!! And bring on more any time.
ReplyDeleteIsn't the guy next to Travolta Keith Brian. I think that is his name. If it is he is a pretty decent actor. Doesn't come out in too many movies.
ReplyDeleteWoW! Tom Ford has really aged well!!!
ReplyDeleteAh, cocaine glamour. Thems were the days, I bet.
ReplyDeleteI want to concur with the first two posters: Cher - a camel toe for the ages! Now we know why high-waisted jeans are failing to come back.
Very Cool! :) Thanks Ent!
ReplyDeleteI think his name is David Keith... the guy with Travolta and Rocky. He did tons of movies during that time period. He was opposite Richard Gere in Officer and a Gentleman. Now I see him doing alot of the cop TV shows...
ReplyDeleteLOL - I remember once reading an excerpt from Andy Warhol's autobiography (or journals, maybe?) and he was complaining about seeing Bianca Jagger at Studio 54 and she had bad body odor. And now VOILA! Photographic evidence!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ent!! It looked like a hot mess, but a fun one. Oh to be a fly on the wall.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is indeed David Keith.
ReplyDeleteBrian Keith was "Uncle Bill"on Family Affair. He was also Police Chief Link Mattocks in The Russians Are Coming the Russians Are Coming (1966).
He killed himself in 1997.
Thankyou Ent. AMAZING surreal pictures!
ReplyDeleteTom Ford hasn't changed a bit and
Debbie Harry is gorgeous.
I love laughing gas night!
ReplyDeleteIs that the guy from Firestarter with Sly and Travolta?
ReplyDeleteI happen to know the folks in the Laughing Gas photo and they "did" get in that night!!!
