Which magazine columnist with superior airs fakes a friendship with a leading dame of American TV - just so he can get tips from her dinner parties and mock her mercilessly afterward?
i don't know who the columnist is but Barbara Walters is the person i would think is someone who would be considered a leading Dame of American TV. you usually have to have a long career before you get knighted, for example Dames Judy Dench, and Maggie Smith. Barbara has had a long career and if she was British she would have been made a Dame by now.
Does Cindy write for a magazine? I read her in the NY Post and IMO she doesn't have superior aires. She's can be a sarcastic old broad, but I admire that in a woman.
Dominick writes for Vanity Fair and I think fits the description. I like his writing, but I know there are those who don't and he's been sued and snubbed a few times.
For some reason, Barbara Walters popped into my head.
Please. It's Dominick Dunne, and Martha Stewart. Cindy Adams and ALT don't even come close, not to mention the former is the wrong gender for this BI. way to go, Charles! first...and right!
Sarah, I'm sorry if you think I'm being mean. I'm really not a meanie, but it sounds so condescending to start out with Please. Just say who you think it is.
And seriously, don't think I'm being mean because I'm always fighting the mean.
Fab, this is between Sarah and myself and we're doing fine. Talk about mean.
Dominic Dunne and Martha?
ReplyDeleteSpot on, Charles!
ReplyDeleteMartha Stewart sounds correct - but I tend to think the columnist is a female. Like Cindy Adams..

ReplyDeleteI thought Oprah was the Dame. Just ask her - she'll tell you.
ReplyDeleteYeah?? But who would want to hang out with Oprah or Baba Wawa to get dinner tips?
ReplyDelete*googles for images of Martha's dinner parties*

ReplyDeleteYeah, Lainie, I agree. I like DD, and Barbara Walters is more of an American Dame of TV than Martha Stewart is.
