#1 This B list, award winning, aging actress who was on a hit television show for years and is now trying again won't be getting any free clothes for some time. Seems that everytime she gets something free to wear to an award show she either purposely names a different designer or in the case at last week's Emmy's trashed the designer to whoever asked about what she was wearing. The latest designer was so ticked off that he called everyone he could think of to make sure she never gets free things again.
#2 What comic/actor, best friends/duo have been best friends for years but have seen their relationship crumble due to jealousy. One of the friends (A) was always the bigger television star and had the ego to match and was willing to be friends with his less than equal friend (B) as long as the second friend was second best. When A got into films, he thought his television success would carry over, but no such luck. When B got into films he kept scoring number one films and A began to seethe. Now, with B having another #1 film and A not getting his calls returned, it seems the once famous friendship has ground to a halt.
#1 - the chick from everybody does .. i mean loves raymond ..
ReplyDelete#2 - jamie foxx and martin lawrence
ReplyDelete#2 Piven and someone. Oh, Piven and John Cusack. Weren't they friends and now there is some trouble as the Piv is taking off, and Cusack I doing Stephen King movies.
ReplyDeleteDonna, Patricia Heaton is a great guess for #1.
ReplyDelete#2-Donna I think you're right about Jaime Foxx, but I don't think it's Martin. I think it's Will Smith.
#2 does sound like Foxx & Lawrence
ReplyDelete#1 -- Heaton fills the requirements, and I sense no one will ever accuse her of being stable, but she did always strike me as working the system to her advantage - why would she trash the designers, especially since at her age after 3-4 kids she has to be careful about how she dresses?
Piven and Cusack are much better fits for #2! I'm with ya Kevin.
ReplyDeletewhat about Elaine from Seinfeld?
ReplyDeleteI'll throw in my agreement with #1 being Patricia Heaton. No clue about #2.
ReplyDeletecUSAK HAS NEVER BEEN A tv STAR
ReplyDeleteCusack was in movies from the beginning..not him. I'm thinking Saturday Night Live guys....maybe David Spade and Adam Sandler or...David Spade and anyone else.
ReplyDeletepiven was on tv right .. not cusack .. so i am sticking with my martin for friend a and jamie fox for friend b .. jamie has been in a number of great movies and his latest has talks of oscar already .. but then again, this early on which film doesnt?? haha
ReplyDeleteRay Romano and Kevin For 2
ReplyDeleteJulia Louis Dreyfus doesn't need free dresses. She has Seinfeld money and her father(and grandfather) is a BILLIONAIRE!!!
ReplyDeletesecond the ray and kev guess
ReplyDeletejbeebs, having money has nothing to do with it.
ReplyDelete...
#2 - Kevin James and Adam Sandler
ReplyDeleteIt's not Julia. Nacisco Rodriquez is her favorite designer and she always says flattering things about him. He's dressed her for numerous award ceremonies, including this year.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's Patricia, but she should be dissing her hair colorist for giving her that babypoop green/blonde shade. yikes. She should go back to brunette or auburn.
J Dreyfuss has always made it clear that she is NOT related to that rich family of the same name.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Jane Seymour for #1.
ReplyDeleteactually she is part of that family

ReplyDeletesorry it got cut off!
That has got to be Patricia Heaton for #1.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller? Ben's not making nearly as many movies as he used to. And Will has been blowing up on his own. They both did TV first.
ReplyDeleteBut Ben's movies make serious bucks, don't they - and he's getting EP credit on the screen now? Anyone?
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I thought Rob Schneider/Adam Sandler
ReplyDeletenadiakotsev ... your link works fine; it just looks like it is truncated, but for some reason a copy/paste will paste the whole link (??) Confuses me too...
ReplyDelete1) Sally Field
ReplyDelete2) Beats me, but Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller sounds like a good guess
lol
ReplyDeletei dont like Patricia Heaton...sounds like she would do that...she is one of those celebs who shouldnt speak about anything other than what they are doing on tv or film...
I like the original suggestion of Jamie Foxx and Martin Lawrence ... were they good friends? If so, the description seems to fit.
ReplyDelete#1 i kind of like the patricia heaton guess
ReplyDelete#2 i second the ray romano and kevin james guess. ray was always the bigger star on tv but kevin is definitely bigger than ray in the movies now.
#1 Debra Messing (Ralph Lauren)
ReplyDelete#2 (A) Will Smith (B) Jamie Foxx
I have no clue! Ben has like 6 movies in the works and Will has two. Hmm...who else are comedians and good friends.
ReplyDeleteAren't Stephen Colbert and Steve Carrell really good friends? But Stephen hasn't made a movie yet, so that's a no.
Oooh! But on Steve Carrell's IMDB page it says he's good friends with Will Ferrell. And Steve has 5 movies in the works.
Will Smith has 4 movies in the works.
ReplyDeleteJaime Foxx has 1 movie in the works.
Martin Lawrence has 2 movies in the works. But there's no connection of them being friends...at least in the eyes of the force that's IMDB.
Adam Sandler is good friends with Rob Schneider, David Spade and Chris Rock.
ReplyDeleteCould the beef be between Chris and Adam? Rob can't be mad at Adam. Adam's his meal ticket.
Adam Sandler has 2 in the works.
Chris has 4 movies in the works.
#1 I immediately thought of Jane Seymour as well, now that she's on Dancing w the Stars. But by accounts she's a lovely person. Jennie Garth? Not that she's aging...
ReplyDelete#2 Dana Carvey and anyone? (I loathe him) Jimmy Fallon and anyone?
if ray romano and kevin james are friends, then that is an EXCELLENT guess that actually fits the description.....unlike most of them
ReplyDeleteLets review: steve carrell does great movies AND tv, will ferrell does not do tv, colbert doesnt do movies. Cant be them.
Will Smith? which one would he be? his tv show did translate into great movies, as did jamie foxx.
I have heard about the piven/cusack feud, but since when has cusack ever done tv?
Ben Stiller had a huge hit with "A Night At The Museum". And he produced "Blades Of Glory" after turning down the lead role. He isn't exactly in the middle of a carreer slump!
ReplyDeleteBI # 1
ReplyDeleteLove the Patricia Heaton guess... She truly is one really self center female... who runs her mouth way too much.
Julia Louis Dreyfus... is part of the very wealthy Louis-Dreyfus family. She confirmed it on Bravo's "The Actors Studio". But her parents have been divorce since she was a young child. Then her Mother married very well the second time too. She just does not name drop that fact about the old money family.
BI # 2
Love the Ray & Kevin guess!
Kevin has had a pretty decent/money making movie career. He just comes off as a nice decent guy. Plus Kevin seems to still be humble about his success.
I would not use "humble" to describe Ray Romano. So I would not be surprise by the jealousy.
My guess for 1 is the Mom from Raymond, not the Wife. Isn't she on some new show, too?
ReplyDeleteThe "aging actress" sounds like someone more like Sally Field. Not sure it's her, but I don't consider Patricia Heaton as "aging".
ReplyDeleteStephen Colbert has indeed made a movie;'Strangers With Candy'. It's hysterical! I don't think the BI involves him, though.
ReplyDeleteI thought of Debra Messing for #1, but I like the Patricia Heaton guess because I think she's a self centered ass. Although I have heard Debra is known for being greedy with the free swag and isn't a very nice person. Not sure for #2.
ReplyDeleteThe reason I didn't think it was Debra Messing... is that she normally wears Ralph Lauren. And she says so... and she did have on one of his dresses at the Emmy's. But sadly she does have a rep of being a pain in the butt and not above being nasty.
ReplyDeleteNow since Patricia Heaton is 50... I consider her aging. She is still my guess for the BI.
I agree w/Nosey Parker - Debra Messing for #1.
ReplyDeleteooh I like Debra Messing for #1. Great guess! She is so greedy.
ReplyDeletePatricia Heaton is also a great guess!
#2 I like the Chris Rock and Adam Sandler guess.
"This B list, award winning, aging actress who was on a hit television show for years and is now trying again"
ReplyDeleteLet's break this down as to why this screams Patricia Heaton and no one else:
Won an Emmy for Raymond.
Was on a hit television show for years = Raymond
Is trying again = her now show "Back to You" on Fox.
Sally Field did not have a long running show and isn't "just trying again." She's already on tv and won the Emmy for B&S. Debra Messing isn't aging too much. Plus she already did her tv "trying again" last summer with the Starter Wife. The BI implies it's something new, i.e. Patty's new show.
Patricia is known to be a royal biatch. So is Debra, but Patricia fits the item to a tee.
Second item, I'm up for Martin Lawrence/Jamie Foxx. Foxx has The Kingdom coming out this weekend which everyone expects to open at #1 so there ya go.
#1. I've never heard of Patricia Heaton being nasty. I've heard Debra Messing was a terror on Will & Grace and continues to be...so I'm throwing my ring in the DM pile.
ReplyDeleteAt least PH admits to having plastic surgery - I've always admired that about her.
#2. I watched a Ray Romano special on HBO once. Kevin James was featured prominently on it as well. They played golf together. Ray & PH even guested on KJ's show. I really think it's Ray for A, Kevin for B.
Hmmm...maybe #1 is PH if #2 is RR? Ent giving us BI for people from the same show.
patricia heaton is trying again with some new show with kelsey grammer...i didnt watch it but i heard that it sucked...which is suprising because kelsey grammer is a really good actor...i hated "raymond" because i thought her character was such a bitch and i could not stand her and if this BI was about her i would not be suprised...
ReplyDeleteI watched Patricia Heaton on Letterman years back when Ray was still popular and she came off as a royal bitch - very self appreciating and condescending - my guess is totally her for #1.
ReplyDeleteI've no good guess for #2...
This is too cute! Today's "Blind" answers played husband & wife on TV for years! (Patricia Heaton & Ray Romano)... It's PERFECT! They also fit the clues better than anyone else, I think:
ReplyDelete1) Ray and Kevin James met on the comedy circit years ago & have acknowledged being "best friends."
B) Ray had a HUGELY successful TV show, which Kevin guest-starred on -- eventually getting his own spin-off, "King of Queens." Although K-of-Q is successful, it's NOTHING compared to Ray's multiple Emmy- & GG-winning show...
C) Ray's "movie career" has been a total BUST (other than the voice in "Ice Age!") ... OTOH, Kevin had BIG success with "Hitch" in 2005 -- It was #1 for 3 weeks. (Ray & Kevin made the movie "Grilled" together that year, but it was so BAD it went straight-to-video.) But Kevin recently went on to MORE success with "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry" (#1 for July 20-22, still making big $$$..)
Re: PATRICIA HEATON... It just HAS to be her! The only other possibilities are:
A) Julia Louis-Dreyfuss-- She's ruled out b/c Narcisco Rodriquez always dresses her...and (unlike heaton) she's not known for mouthing off; or
B) Debra Messing. She wore a Ralph Lauren gown this year, got LOADS of compliments on it, & was quoted praising the dress... She's also consistently on the "best-dressed" lists, so designers wouldn't be so quick to write her off!
FYI: ON a somewhat-related note... John Cusack & Jeremy Piven don't fit today's BI, but they HAVE had a "falling out." In their case, though, they're both a**-holes! ... My friends knew them in H.S. (Evanston Township) & they were cocky back then - H-wood's just made them about 100x worse! (Nonetheless, Piven still takes the prize for most insufferable jack***.)
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Rita Moreno for #1.
ReplyDeleteB List (debatable)
Award-winning (one of 9 people to win an Emmy, Oscar, and Tony)
Aging 75 years old
Hit television show for years Sesame Street (debatable if this is considered a "hit show")
Now trying again The show Cane
Just tuned in...I just had to jump to Jimmy Fallon's defense on the guess from EmilyR....I was out for my friends 40th birthday, and she was, for some reason, really not being nice to me. I went to the bar to hang with one of my friends, who was a little depressed and Jimmy offered to by me and my friend a drink. (She is over 250lbs, so don't get any thoughts)....he proceeded to buy us shooters, and when we asked him why he wasn't drinking, he said he was the designated driver! He then went to the DJ, and dedicated a song to us, as some cool girls, and introduced us to his famous friends, and hung with us the whole night, just talking about his love life, etc. He was so cool, and down to earth. And I loved the woman he was with, who you would never guess from the tabloids, but was relly sweet, and told us how much she had a crush on Jimmy, but he considered her a sister. (She was REALLY bummed about that).
ReplyDeleteAny way...my point is...I love Jimmy!
linda ... that's a great story about Jimmy Fallon ... thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteBTW, who was the woman with Jimmy ... are you giving your own "blind item" there? ;)
lol-I guess it is my own "blind"....believe it or not, it was EVE...she was really sweet, and said she and Jimmy met when she was a guest on SNL, and were buddies, etc....this was about 2 yrs ago.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWow! thats a pretty awesome story linda,I would have never put those two together...
ReplyDelete#1:Patricia Heaton...I loathe this woman!
#2 I think that curiouscailyn sold me on the Ray/Kevin guess.
Hey now, I pointed out that it appeared Ent may have a BI for 2 people from the same show before Curious Cailyn did.
ReplyDeleteI want some credit here!!
Of course, my post wasn't nearly as well put together as CC's.
Sometimes, you just need to get the credit you feel you are due. Sorry if I'm being a brat.
As to the Sally Field guess
ReplyDeleteThe BI says:
#1 This B list, award winning, aging actress who was on a hit television show for years and is now trying again
That suggests to me it is someone on another television series after having been on a popular one initially. SF has had a couple of series over the years and is now on S&B.
>award winning,
She has won a couple of Oscars before her Emmy (and a couple of Emmys as I recall before that one).
She'll be 61 this year sometime. That sounds more "aging" to me than Patricia Heaton, while I couldn't disagree more with her politics, is usually politically nicey nice. Debra Messing is not even forty yet.
I'm changing my guess - as Beth points out, PH fits too, too well. I thought The Starter Wife was new and not a year old, my bad.
ReplyDeletePatricia Heaton was also the bitch who spoke out against Michael J. Fox's PSA during the '04 elections. Anything that woman says is hateful, so I can definitely see her bad mouthing someone working with or doing something for her.
I hope it's not Rita, P! I really like her.
Cool, Linda...thanks for the dish. ;) I did some searching on Jimmy Fallon and found that he just got engaged to marry Nancy Juvonen, who is co-owner of Drew Barrymore's production co. I guess Eve's outta luck. :-/
ReplyDeleteI'm going with Patricia Heaton for number one--she often says things that are a little abrasive, and the "trying again" bit refers to her AWFUL new show, Back to You. (They have serious script issues. Its just not funny enough. The dialogue is obvious and forced. There are no real "characters"...its awful)plus I think I've read somewhere that she misnamed the designer of the gown she first wore when she showed off her new rack and stomach.
ReplyDelete
