Say It Isn't So--Goonies To Be Turned Into Animated Series

I'm all for a sequel to the Goonies because I think there was room for one and it wouldn't destroy the memory of the original. I would love to see everyone all living in the same neighborhood and the kids of the original Goonies having an adventure of their own. However, that is not what's being planned.

Right now there are serious discussions going on which would see Goonies on Cartoon Network as an original animated series by next summer. The pitch was Scooby Doo for today's generation. Well first of all Goonies came out in 1985 so I'm not sure how it's today's generation, and yes it was a mystery, but it was also a story of growing up and friendship and all of those great memories are going to be destroyed if they turn it into some spoof or simplify it for 4 year old kids.

  2. Why is Hollywood raping my childhood repeatedly??

Kids today won't be into it unless Sloth somehow turns into Optimus Prime and Chunk comes equipped with a sawed off and an assault rifle.

EL...it ain't right and YOU know it! Lol..funny I was just reading/researching this very article last night...hmm.

  3. Grrr! Way to rip off a classic, Hollywood. Like I'd let any kids of mine or even ones that I know watch a crappy Goonies rip-off. No Goonies cartoons! Bad idea.

It won't last an entire season.
