A man died while attending a Smashing Pumpkins show in Vancouver.
The 20-year-old was pulled unconscious from the mosh-pit at the city's PNE Forum after he was believed to have been crowd-surfing. It is believed that at some point the crowd dropped him and he was trampled. First aid staff attempted to resuscitate him by the stage before he was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. PNE's media relations officer Laura Balance said: "In fairness to family and friends of this individual, we just don't want to start speculating. It's just a really, really sad ending to what started out to be probably a very fun night for a young man." She added that crowd-surfing is allowed at the venue but is "discouraged" by security staff.
There was no comment from Smashing Pumpkins.
Sad. Just goes to show that life is short and people should enjoy it every minute and every second.
