Charlotte Gainsbourg Has Brain Haemorrhage Surgery

Charlotte Gainsbourg who was featured in this blog for a recent photo spread she did in Elle, had emergency brain surgery last night in a Paris hospital. Charlotte, the 36 year old mother of two who starred in The Golden Door and 21 Grams was injured in a water skiing accident last week while vacationing in the US. Earlier this week while attending the Venice Film Festival for her role in the Bob Dylan biopic I'm Not There, she began complaining of non-stop headaches and nausea and were impervious to medication and rest.
Doctors determined she had swelling in the brain and she elected to have the surgery in Paris. Her agent Dominique Segal (another DS) said the operation went very well and that Charlotte would be released from the hospital sometime this weekend.

I know when I posted her photo shoot, many of you had no idea who she was, and that's because she primarily works in Europe and hasn't sought out the limelight. However, she's a great actress, a great mom and truly one of the best people around and I wish her a speedy recovery.

  6. This is so sad. My heart goes out to her kids, especially. I hope she recovers.

My favorite movie of hers (one of the coolest movies ever, should you get the chance to rent it) is The Cement Garden. I really hope she'll be fine...
