Where Have I Heard This One Before? Jordin Sparks Waiting For Marriage To Give Up Her Virginity

I believe Britney Spears uttered those same words and kept insisting to everyone she was a virgin. Hell, I think she might have claimed she was still a virgin even after she got pregnant. Jessica Simpson made a similar vow, but I don't know if hers included relatives or if it was just for strangers wanting to have sex with her.

American Idol winner Jordin Sparks has revealed that she does not plan to lose her virginity until she gets married.The 17-year-old singer, who won the most recent season of the talent show, was encouraged by her parents to wait for sex when she was just 13.

"My parents gave me a purity ring and talked to me about waiting until I'm married to have sex. It wasn't forced; it just made perfect sense. It's going to be awesome to say to my husband that I waited my whole life for him."

I wish Jordin Sparks the best in her pledge and her commitment. I think every woman should be able to do exactly what they want and not be pressured by society. However, what I do hate is when a public figure makes this pledge and then it's obvious that she's gone back on it, but they never address it or just pretend they are still a virgin.

Jordin. If you want to stay a virgin until you are married, I'm all for it. However, if you do have sex, please let us all know so little girls don't find out you're lying later and do something stupid.
