Is London on some different calendar system than the US? Is Harrods just trying to f**k with the people of the world? I know the time change is happening later this year so maybe Christmas is happening earlier?
It's August. Kids aren't even back in school and Harrods launched their Magical Christmas World. I think it's bad enough that Christmas starts the day after Halloween here in the US, but at least it's November and most of the country has a little chill to it.
Why don't we just go ahead and make Christmas a 24/7 thing all year long and that way it will have as much importance as a weekend. We'll all still look forward to it but it's no big deal. It's a couple of presents, a quick grope in the copy room at the office party and a short stay in jail because the cop doesn't believe that the coke belonged to the elf in the backseat who was just right there a few minutes ago.
And see those kids in that photo? Their parents are going to be sorry they let them pose because now and everyday for the next 4 months they are going to be bitching about Santa and how they want Christmas now. They are also going to go to school or the park and tell all their friends they met Santa and that Christmas is early this year. They will also probably say something about how Santa wanted them to sit on his lap several times but then of course that could have simply been my own personal experience growing up and not indicative of the way Santa's are today.
eh, Harrods is about 3 weeks early. Nothing is quite as full-scale as that but christmas shit starts arriving in stores at the end of august-mid september. Christmas shit starts earlier and earlier every year. it's disgusting. (I'm talking about in the US, too.)
