So, every week my good buddy Samantha sends me an electronic copy of Star. I'm not sure if it's an advance issue or just stories they might think you, the reader would find interesting. As I was perusing today, I came across this story.
After a short split last year, American Idol’s Carrie Underwood and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo are bound for the altar! The couple, who started dating soon after the Country Music Award-winning singer appeared at a Cowboys game to sing the “Star Spangled Banner” on Thanksgiving Day in 2005, plan to marry on, what else, Thanksgiving! “Tony’s family all loved Carrie and told him not to let this one get away,’ says an insider. “And he’s not.”
Now at first glance you might think there's nothing wrong with this story and that Carrie and Tony are being romantic by marrying on the anniversary of the day they met. I'm guessing this story was not written by a football fan. You see, every Thanksgiving Day, the Dallas Cowboys play a football game. It generally is at 3pm local time. Now, I guess it's possible they could get married really early in the morning and then Tony could go play or they could get married Thanksgiving night after Tony has taken a beating for 3 hours.
Of course after giving Star a hard time, they did reveal a blind item. Look for it later today.
Frankly, I thought the whole romance was a publicity stunt.
ReplyDeleteThey showed her in the stands more than the actual game last Thanksgiving. so annoying
ReplyDeleteyawn
ReplyDeleteWhy would anyone be surprised that fabrication and exaggeration are the name of the game at Star?
ReplyDeleteenty is a cowboys fan. fess up. woo hoo, yay cowboys. :)
ReplyDeleteSTEELERS Rule!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hate the Dallas Cowboys. Denver Broncos all the way. Oh for the days of Elway!
ReplyDeleteis the BI that is to be revealed about the football player who wants to come out?
ReplyDeleteGood catch, EL, unless the Cowboys' new administration is planning to cut Romo after the debacle in the playoffs last year . . .
ReplyDeleteIt's tradition - Cowboys have played on Thanksgiving for how many years now? Pro athletes usually marry during the off-season. Star's a lame rag - always has been, always will be.
