Want To Be On A Reality Show?
MSNBC has compiled a list of all the reality shows currently in production and a link to their respective casting and application pages. Personally I am going to audition for Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader because I really want to humiliate myself as much as possible. A show designed to make people look like idiots on immediately after American Idol will surely allow as many people as possible to see what a complete moron I am. I was in the 5th grade for three years and I know how tough it can be. None of these kids have ADD or television in their house or video games. They probably all eat three meals a day and have parents that care. I obviously need more therapy. If any reader of this blog makes it onto one of these shows, let me know.
Heh. A customer last night told me all about this new show. He insists that the 5th graders have the unfair advantage of youth. For instance, he says, he KNOWS the pilgrims came over on the Mayflower, but when the question was asked, he drew a complete blank.
ReplyDeleteMy mom made bank on Jeopardy many years ago, but when we watch it now, I always get the answers quicker than her. There's that (relative) youth factor again ;) No way would I play against a ten year old.
No plans to hit the reality show circuit yet, but I've heard rumours somewhere that Law & Order is developing a script about me. How cool is that?!
ReplyDeleteWhich flavor of Law and Order?? I'll set my TiVo for that one!
ReplyDeleteI'd say, Hez, you have 'arrived' ;)
LOL - watched it the other night - my 11 year old son (who is a 5th grader) beat me on it hands down... though I have to say I like the concept of the show and all that but they DRAG IT ON so badly that I am practically yelling, just ask the damn questions. Definitely a TIVO type of program...
ReplyDeleteOooh, I hope it's Law & Order: Criminal Intent and not Law & Order: Special Victims (or worse, Law & Order: No Cool Acronyms).
ReplyDeleteI mean, if I'm gonna be portrayed as a blogstalker, I'd at least like credit for being one with some really big ideas. ;-)
So, now the question is, Noth flavour or D'onofrio flavour? Both so tasty!
Before we get too deep into plots and casting here, I'm opening a thread on the MB about this. Fun!!
D'onofrio, for sure, if you can only have one of them. Myself, I'd suggest one of those episodes where they actually have BOTH.
ReplyDeleteCan we kill off Eames early on, though? She just annoys me.
Ugh! This show made me want to chuck my TV out the window in frustration! I totally understand that these folks haven't had to think "academically" in a long time but goddamn, some of these questions were so easy I was dying. That UCLA graduate guy was a total joke! Didn't answer one question correctly by himself! UCLA should ask for their diploma back. Also, I died when Lakisha answered the question, "Which country has the longest border with the U.S.?" as Mexico! *headdesk* This video says it all!! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJuNgBkloFE&eurl
ReplyDelete*toddles off to find funny cat videos on youtube to console herself*
it's amazing to me that the reality genre has lasted as long as it has...i thought it'd have been played out by now. incredible.
ReplyDeletestill don't want to take on a 5th grader tho.
Haha, I love this show! It does drag on, as do all prime time game shows, but it's an interesting look on brain function through the years.
