Seriously I wish people would either be gay or straight because even I am getting confused. I mean I want Portia de Rossi to be straight but she is not and I can live with that. It can be just hard sometimes to get the image of Ellen out of my mind, but with effort anything is possible.
Another singer. Not the one from yesterday is now switching between guys and girls. I guess the guys are even interested now that they have seen the photos and he is more than willing.
A marriage that everyone thought was headed to divorce years ago because of bad boy behavior is actually heading to divorce now because of drug use and violence. His wife has always denied it in the past and been a big supporter of this bad boy. BUT that is all about to change and will become public knowledge very soon.
This female A list celebrity and B list actress has always alternated between men and women. Now it seems as if she has gotten herself in the family way and is not quite sure who the father is and so for now is quietly asking all of her recent boyfriends what they would want to do about the situation if they were the father.
This aging C list actor cannot get a date, but he does have money and so he always pays a woman to be his date/relationship for the month prior to and immediately after any movie he is in.
I know the last one is practically impossible so here is a bonus.
This aging former cable star was heard lamenting the other night how her very rich husband has cheated on her from almost day one of their marriage. He married her when she was still something. Now she is a oh, yeah I remember her. She just accepts the cheating because they have an iron clad pre-nup and she has no job prospects and no money.
so jessica biel for #3 - she left stella's show after 2 min. because she was "hung over" and was oddly dressed at oscars.

A list, to me, means their name and face has cropped up enough that someone's menopausal mother in Kansas remembers their name by now. That's why people like Mel Gibson, even when they're not working for years at a time, will always be "A list."
Household name? I don't consider Jessica Biel a household name. B-list celebrity at best, C-list actress for sure.
My first thought was KRISTEN DUNST, and I saw others who posted the same. Mandy Moore was a great guess, too. I just never heard about them being bi.

ReplyDeleteWhen I used Mel as an example of being A list even when he doesn't work because he is such a well-known household name, you could say, "well, why isn't Dan Akroyd A-list, then?" Some 50 year old housewife from Kansas would know him for sure.
But does the household name have star power behind that name? Is the name like a brand? Would slapping his name on something draw big box office bucks as a result? The answer is yes for Mel, even when he's unpopular (that anti-semitic misogynist!) and returning from a long time out. The answer would be NO for Akroyd. He doesn't have studios clamoring to slap his name on something to guarantee some box office draw.
So maybe E.L. could be implying Biel for #3, but if so, I think the A-list/B-list labels are misapplied here.

A list celebrity is the ammount of publicity one would consider them to be categorized under, not necessarily red carpet oscar only status. I agree that Carmen Electra would fit in with A list celebrity status, but B-list (being generous here) acting status. And for that matter, Anna Nicole's status as of now, is blown out the water, but her acting will always be a D.

A List star means how bankeable as person is. Anyone that's currently getting hired for big name movies with regular work is bankeable.

Think, sadly, Lindsay Lohan, Paris etc, who while they may not be the best most bankeable actresses around, are still the most newsworthy ones.
That would be my interpretaion of this.

They must not watch movies: "Failure to Launch" was a hit, "The Family Stone" was a modest hit, both did well on DVD, plus she has a couple movies in the pipeline.
As for Broderick, he probably was wealthy when they married but SO rich that someone would marry him just for his bucks? Nah. And as for the other blind item, unless he's seriously pulled the wool over everyone's eyes, in no universe is Matthew Broderick a "bad boy."
I guess I didn't consider "Failure To Launch" or that other awful thing SJP was in to be great, but even if I granted that they were oscar worthy, the BI only list "aging cable star" and "very rich husband". She is most *definitely* aging (ain't we all), her "star" is on HBO and she's not only a "oh yeah, I remember her", in some areas, she's "who the hell is Carrie Bradshaw?" Re: MB's sexuality; I don't know for sure whether the guy is gay or not, but the women-at least of my generation-the ones who were the right age during Ferris Bueller, do loooooove the little boy. Boys might love it too, and he might love em back, or both of them.
