Today's Blind Items - Abracadabra

This one seems appropriate for today and is something that I find myself in awe of when it comes to the work of her team and the actress herself for saying this is what we are going to do. This actress is probably permanently A list. All of you know her. She was in the blinds a lot during her peak. Why was she in the blinds? Outrageous behavior. Crazy over the top stuff, but unlike Lindsay, this actress was A list and a very good actress. Studios wanted her to be the lead in big projects. She had everyone convinced she had a drinking problem, which she kind of did, but used to hide her real problem. That was a much more serious drug that would have at that time ruined her career. Everyone could handle a very young actress not being able to handle her booze and no one got hurt. She wasn't mean when she got drunk and she didn't get arrested or get into fights, so the studio looked the other way. Then, one day she did get busted by a studio because she failed a drug test. They didn't fire her and didn't tell anyone else. They ate the extra cost of the insurance and moved forward with her. But, they told her to clean up her act. So, she ramped up the booze look while behind the scenes was trying to quit the other drug. It worked and then slowly she got off the booze too. Great great job at a coverup.
