Blind Item #3

With the recent revelations, I am actually shocked this foreign born former A- list mostly television actress from a show turned movie didn't go ahead and tell the world it was this permanent A/A- list actress who ruined the franchise by wanting so much money. The foreign born actress always takes the blame, but as I told you before it is the permanent A/A- list actress who is at fault.

  1. I didn't realize Catrall was foreign born, but yep, born in the UK. Defintitely her/SJP/SatC 3.

  2. I like Catrall. I believe she's had a bad rap, but if she doesn't expose SJP, she'll be the one labeled.

    1. This is disappointing.... I liked her when I met her
But it was her home and she definitely “held court” so to speak.... I can actually imagine it was not easy for her to share the spotlight (especially with a character that is/was beloved as Kim’s “Samantha”

    2. I loved her in "The Ghost Writer", and I loved that film too. But then I learned all about Roman Polanski. It's so hard to enjoy things these days. Meh.

    3. Ever since I saw her search of her grandfather for her mother and aunts I've had a soft spot. It was very moving.

  4. I doubt Catrall gives a shit who the public blames. That's one of the reasons I like her.

SJP was raised in poverty and was the sole supporter of her family of 5 since childhood. She has a relationship with money that reflects that. It also explains why she is such a scene stealer in all her movies and shows. She has a bad habit of stepping on other actors' moments and trying to seize the focus during group scenes.

    2. I admire that in a person (the not giving a fuck who the public blames). Can't imagine how they do it, I'd go mad and blab...

  5. Considering that she's so discreet about her brother's problems and death, I think that Kim Cattrall's just more of a lady than we expect her to be (based on the Samantha role). Not everyone thinks it's okay to publicly assign blame and point fingers.

  6. I dunno, I like them both but Cattrals lates IG post was plain embarrassing. Mourn for your brother, block SJP from social media/ya phone if need be and just move on. Thank god there won’t be another movie, I hated them so far and they’ve almost ruined the tv series (which I loved).

Also, side-note - is anyone else experiencing issues with the site crashing?

    1. No? If anything it's been quicker these past few days. About two weeks ago there was a slow spell for a bit, but now it seems okay again. Maybe it's your connection?

  7. She was excellent in The Ghost Writer

  8. The name dropping, shoulder rubbing jabs are real..real lame.. 😒😒

  9. What did she expect? SJP produced the show. She was also the big name when the show started. Of course she was going to get more money. I found Cattrall's reaction to be really toxic and OTT, especially given some of the ridiculous things she took issues with regarding her character. Other characters on the show were put into much more humiliating circumstances than Samantha.

  10. Oh man, I was hoping it was something to do with the site, but I’m guessing it’s something to do with my cell connectivity. (Literally had to type this three times as the site kept crashing/reloading)😞

    1. After typing your comment, should do "Select All" and copy what you just wrote. That way if the site crashes/your connection goes bad, you can just paste what you just wrote.

  11. Well sound like they had some mean girl action on the, set. I think SJP is jealous of Kim's sex appeal and the movie will suck if she is not in it. Sharon Stone is too old and not voluptuous enough to fill her shoes.

  12. Regardless of this blind, I'm going to blame Nixon

  13. @Two Dots YES! The site has been crashing/reloading for over 3 days on my iPad... I’ve tried restarting it, etc. Glad it’s not just me

    1. Oh. Sorry about that. FWIW, I'm in a different timezone, so maybe I was asleep when the site was crashing.

  15. I did not realize Cattrall was British Canadian, make sense now - she certainly was considered a working Canadian actress when she signed on to Sex and the City. Her lovely HBO series Sensitive Skin was filmed in Toronto though in fact a Canadian version of the original British show.

SJP is probably the way she is because she had to be driven to succeed which is understandable but I find many people like that can't turn it off or are never satisfied once they seem to have it all and it seems SJP is massively insecure at the heart of it in spite of her success.

I don't blame Kim for blasting SJP's phony "sincerity" regarding her brother's death I was waiting to see when and what she would say because I rolled my eyes when I read about it. Though yes the classier thing to do would have been for both parties to keep their communications private. You don't post condolences on social media if you are a real true friend, you give them a phone call.

One thing is Kim is absolutely right - NO APPETITE FOR SEX AND THE CITY 3 let this dead horse stay dead, the sequel was corny enough. SJP need for more money or work is not Kim's problem.

  16. @Jen Ty

Yeah, can't turn it off, that's probably right concerning SJP. I read somewhere once that an obsession with fashion, real unhealthy obsession, is often preceded by a childhood of want and great insecurity. SJP and Imelda Marcos seem to fit that paradigm.

SJP can't really be blamed for who she is, but taking her condolence to social media sure shines the light on herself, doesn't it.

    1. I heard that's how people feel when they win Oscars: They feel nothing/empty inside, and then nothing seems to satify them in life.

Speaking of SatC and fashion... I wonder what Enty would have posted about Andrew Cunanan if CDAN were around in the late '90s. Scary AF man... Saw his profile on ABC's YouTube.

I just have a feeling that if he had lived through the social media era, we'd have a différent story (still fucked-up AF, but a very different story). The guy was obsessed in status and wanted to make his mark in the world and was complete whacko. He had the looks... Maybe if social media quenched his figurative thirst, he wouldn't have killed so many people. Or maybe it would've enabled him to find his marks easier. We'll never know.

    2. I have a similar post-poverty issue. I was raised in ‘the projects’ in a family of 7.
When I became successful, I hoarded clothes. ALL THE CLOTHES.
I now fill every closet in a 3 bedroom house with my stuff. I need extra bedroom furniture for stuff that goes in drawers. It’s a problem.
      I need a bigger house.

  17. OMG-Tricia was @ SJP's casa?!!! Dish on that bizarro marriage with her band aid babies! Sumthn isnt kosher in the Broderick house! Was Mat & Andy Cohen cudled up? I imagine Kelly "I sell fridges" with my doubke AA tatas Rippa was flitting around with dull as a doorknob Anderson Cooper too? ;)

  18. @TwoDots, I’ve also been having major problems with the site forcing reloads and crashing. It happens both on my WiFi and cell phone. I never comment, but this is seriously annoying, and I’m glad it’s not just me!

  19. If my brother killed himself and some bitch I hated dared to wish me strength in a public post I'd give her the hose of hate too.

Friend of mine knows Kim Cattrall and has nothing but the nicest things to say about her. Says she is classy and lovely and generous and wonderful.

    1. I feel much the same way. SJP could easily have sent a private note instead of a public post.
I suspect her motives may not have been altogether pure. ‘Oh, look! I’m just being nice and she’s being mean to me?’
      I hate that crap.
There’s no reason to make a bereavement message public in an iffy relationship.

      Delete
  20. Oh FFS. It was a condolence message. Sending one is always the right thing to do, it is common courtesy to send one whatever the relationship is or has been. Even Melissa Rivers expected one from Jay Leno, and there was no love lost between Joan and Jay.

Cattrall's reaction was rabid and insane. She is 60+ years old, time to grow up. Ignore it or say thank you and move on.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sharon Stone would be a great addition if they did go that route. She and Cattrall both have the tall, lean, not particularly voluptuous look.

And SJP has said , FWIW, that she did try to send condolences privately before going to social media. And had she said nothing, people would have ripped her for that too.

    ReplyDelete
  22. i don't like kim cattrall. but she maybe could have claimed the high road until she engaged in that shit on IG. that could have been handled with a nasty phone call or an angry knock at SJP's door something. it was out of line, IMO and made her look like a total bitch.
they're probably both horrible divas. that never mixes well.

    1. I admit it was uncomfortable to read the verbal lashing at SJP. However, I have to imagine she was dealing with the anguish of losing her brother and then reading what she interpreted as A condolence shared more out of PR purpose than sincerity just pushed her over the edge. So she channeled that anger and anguish into her response.

  23. Lol NY Post Page Six story telling Kim’s side of the story just went out this week.

  24. I've been having issues and I'm on a laptop. Seems Enty has added a movie ad which is draining.
What I read about SJP's life was a tad different. She grew up in entertainment family. And as exec producer of SATC she reaps huge $$ rewards that she makes sure no one else does. The second movie was a major flop. Leave it alone.
I also wanna know scoops about SJP's personal life!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I can understand not liking someone but all SJP did was offer a condolence. Kim could've easily just ignored it and let it go. If you dislike someone and truly do not care, you ignore them. She's well within her rights to post whatever she wants on her social media but it just came off incredibly over the top. Why let someone you claim to despise have that much power over you? Make em irrelevant.

    ReplyDelete
  26. So glad Kim is finally speaking out and defending herself.

  27. SJp was dam'd if she did and dam'd if she didn't. Fans would have noticed if she didn't say anything but saying something in response to the social media notice left her at risk. I admired she stayed the course of trying to maintain her nice girl image though she was crossing a line they both knew was there.
@plot: agreed that she doesn't care about public opinion per her Oprah where are they now interview. she said it was incredible how people couldn't separate the character from her as a person so she puts little into public opinion.

  28. @two dots - yes! The site’s been crashing then immediately reloading for days. Very frustrating.

  29. Team Catrall. There are more folks in Hollywood who don't like SJP and her behavior on set. For example Matthew Mcnaughhay and Bradley Cooper (see their appearance on Graham Norton a couple of years ago). I think SJP is the villian in this scenario, not Kim.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ugh, SJP is so fug. I've never liked her and she's as phony as they come. I can see her try to deflect everything that is/was wrong with SITC onto Kim. Maybe she'll fullyo away now and retire gracefully or play the old, crabby mother in law roles.

  31. I loved Cattrall's petty takedown of SJP. Seems like it's been a long time coming.

  33. I met Kim when I was managing a book/music store in the Palm Springs area. It was at the height of Sex and the City popularity and even though the employees were instructed to not engage the famous people that shopped there in any way that acknowledged their celebrity, one of my stockers (who didn't have cable) approached her and told how much she loved her and how Mannequin was her favorite movie of all time. The had no knowledge of Sex & The City and I am pretty sure at that time, Kim was riding high on that show so talking about Mannequin probably wasn't her favorite thing. She was extremely gracious and genuinely engaged with the employee. I thought was really lovely and let a 20 yr kid prattle on about Mannequin for 10 minutes.

  34. I met Kim when she shot Sensitive Skin. She is the opposite of Samantha Jones. Very soft spoken. She’s gracious and polite. She’s also reserved. I jumped out of my chair when she laughed between takes about something - her laugh is the only thing she has in common with Samantha Jones.
SJP strikes me as a try hard and it’s showing in her comments/actions/body language when she’s asked about this situation.

Kim’s reaction on IG was normal to anyone who has experienced grief.

  35. I like SJP and don't begrudge her ambition and demand for more money, if this is true. I like her look and style and find her watchable although I don't get Sex and the City and have only watched it late at night when nothing else was on, prior to Netflix and my iPad. What I don't like is the same as @SugarCoatedBitch, she seems like a tryhard and always seems desperate to be liked, hence her one-sided relationships with RD jr and Broderick. I didn't notice she said she had tried to reach out in private, but it doesn't surprise me she would try to get the last word in, I don't think she can stop herself.

  36. SATC lasted for six seasons because of the writers who gave Samantha such brilliant dialogue and scenes. We would not be talking about it these days otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Who sends condolences on public forum, when you aren't getting along with that person? Something smells fishy about the whole thing

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think we should listen to exactly what Kim Cattrall said -- that her mother and she agree that SJP is a phony who is opportunistically abusing this moment of deepest family grief to try to resurrect her past nice girl image. Doing so, knowing that it would likely set off Kim in her grief, making Kim look crazy and overreactive, is especially evil, imo.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I don't get the hate for Kim Cattrall. How would you Feel if your co star gets paid $1 million PER EPISODE and you make A LOT LESS. YES, SJP was the lead in SATC BUT STILL it wasn't fair.

  40. I’d love to know the ages of the people who think it’s appropriate to leave condolences on social media!
