Jessica Williams Blind Item

On Sunday, during her Vulture Fest panel with 2 Dope Queens co-host Phoebe Robinson, Jessica Williams recounted her recent too-close-for-comfort encounter at the Peabody Awards the night before:

Yesterday, I was doing the red carpet for the Peabody’s so I was doing interviews. I was doing an interview, and all of the sudden, this guy, this popular actor comes up behind me and just grabs me and just pulls me in towards him. I was literally talking to somebody, and was like, “What? What is happening?” And he was like, “Yeah, girl. You fine” … If I was at a f**king bodega in Harlem and this happened to me, I would literally stab you. But because he’s a great actor, everybody’s, “Haha, that’s funny, right? Good one, you got touched.”

I only added Steve Martin because she stated "he's a great actor" though it is something AA would say.

i don't get what happened.
anyway maybe justin theroux

You think the words "Yeah, girl. You fine," would come out of Steve Martin's mouth?

Oooow...she is going to stab someone if he was in Harlem. Oh please.

Doesn't sound like something Letterman would say so I will throw Anthony Anderson out there as a why not guess.

No but again she said, "he's a great actor" AA is not a great actor but I agree this is most likely him.

Cary Fukunaga was there. He's not an actor but I'll pretend that this is him anyway. Because if he did this to me I would fuck him right then and there in front of all.

Your second tweet wasn't there when I originally replied. :) Jessica might have a different idea of what a "great actor" is. A lot of people have said good things about Blackish, so maybe he got better at acting since I last saw him in anything.

justin theroux ius in a double bearding relationship with courtney cox's girlfriend jennifer aniston, so it isnt him.

steve martin.....hahahahahaahaha doubtful.

I call anthony anderson.

Me too! And Jessica would NOT have complained (unless she's a lesbian which is always possible).

Well this one intrigued me so I went through all 142 photos on wire image of the Peabody's.

Not a single actor photographed could be described (except sarcastically) as great. So no idea.

I'm trying to figure out who Jessica Williams is.

all i know is that Ethan Hawke was there b/c I was just reading about him discussing that he missed River Phoenix & he was jealous of him(his talent).River set the bar for his age group with his performance in "My Own Private Idaho".

LSA is leaning towards Anthony Anderson with the "he's not a great actor" caveat, and they've been picking at this all day, for what it's worth.

I once saw Steve Martin be an absolute dick to a girl at the Carlyle. She wasn't interested and he wouldn't let it go. He went from disbelief to whining to nastiness in no time. It was very unpleasant.

But there was no "Hey girl, you fine" or grabbing involved. Not his style.

well, that's disappointing to hear...not surprising b/c he was wierd with victoria tennant but still..
-pretty funny you caught that scene though.

Room for one more? I'll hold your stuff until it's my turn.

Yes. Don't forget he was born a poor black child :)

A lot of people are praising Blackish and Anthony, so this is probably him. The phrasing suggests that the person who grabbed her is black.

i like steve martin's novel "An object of beauty": great knowledge of modern art (painting), cultured language....
it doesn't eliminate the possibility of being an asshole....

Her skit on the awfulness of catcalls was so brilliant. It makes it extra sad to me that she had to go through this.

Anybody else remember this? http://www.thesmokinggun.com/mugshots/celebrity/hollywood/anthony-anderson

oh shit!

i've tried to watch black-ish a number of times and think the majority of the cast does great work, but kept finding AA to be off-putting (and unfunny) for reasons i couldn't put my finger on. not that awful scumbags aren't capable of being extremely likable and charismatic in public, but his whole vibe just never sat right with me. now i have a good inclination as to why!

Jessica Williams is a correspondent on The Daily Show...pretty sure that's who the subject of the blind is unless there's another famous Jessica Williams.
