Back in 2007, Dancing With The Stars was still a television show. It was that year that Cheryl Burke partnered up with Ian Ziering. A partnership she says made her want to slit her wrists. “My least favorite [partner] would be Ian Ziering,” she confessed on Matt Weiss and Theo Von’s “Allegedly” podcast via TMZ. “The fact that his name is not EE-AN and it’s EYE-AN makes me want to throw up.”
When the hosts admitted that they didn’t exactly like his behavior on Celebrity Apprentice, Cheryl argued that the reality show showed his authentic self. “That’s the true colors that they didn’t show on Dancing With the Stars,” she shared before the hosts described him as “captivating” and “very intense.”
“Think of spending time with that for like eight to 10 hours a day, seven days a week for three months,” Cheryl explained.
While the pair ultimately made it to fourth place in season four, Cheryl said the experience was far from a pleasant one. In fact, she confessed that she went to the higher ups to find a way to end the season early. “It made me want to slit my wrists,” she said. “I was like crying to executives. I was like is there any way to please to just eliminate us? They’re like we can’t. We can’t do that and I swear, every time I asked, we just kept going. We would last till the end.”
