An anonymously filed lawsuit involving a much-talked-about disease has surfaced in federal court in Detroit, where an unnamed woman is suing an unnamed celebrity from California for allegedly giving her genital herpes while having sex with her multiple times in Royal Oak last summer.
Why the secrecy?
"This complaint is brought anonymously due to the social stigma attached to the damages as well as the celebrity of the defendant," according tothe lawsuit, which seeks at least $75,000 in damages.
The lawsuit does not say whether the celebrity is an actor, musician, athlete or politician — only that he is a citizen of California, and that he had a residence of some sort in Royal Oak in July.
The plaintiff, who is a Michigan resident but currently is in New York, claims the unnamed celebrity has permanently scarred her physically, emotionally and psychologically by failing to warn her that he was infected with genital herpes, and "by failing to altogether avoid sexual contact" with her. Her lawsuit also alleges that the defendant "knew or should have known" that he was infected with Herpes Simplex Virus 2.
According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff had repeated sexual encounters with the defendant in July, primarily at his residence in Royal Oak, and "did not and has not had any sexual relations with anyone other than" him since then.
The lawsuit is claiming:
The infection is permanent and irreversible, forcing the woman to take medication for the disease for her entire life.
She will never be able to have a child through normal vaginal delivery because if she has an outbreak the child can contract the disease during pregnancy.
She fears she may never get married or have a long-term relationship because of the stigma of the disease.
"She will be forever branded with the social stigma of this disease," the lawsuit states, adding she will have repeated outbreaks throughout her lifetime.
The plaintiff's attorney did not return calls for comment.

Too funny. I read this in the local paper yesterday and thought about emailing it to Enty... it screamed Affleck to me, but I believe his primary residence was in Pleasant Ridge rather than Royal Oak. It could just be some local athlete; a lot of them live in the lofts in downtown RO.

I know several people who have this who have had natural deliveries. That part should be easily debunked with a decent lawyer.
Paris Hilton gave it to Henry Cavill earlier this year, then he passed it on to whoever this lucky bitch is.

That is the amount required to be stated for the lawsuit to be allowable - jurisdictional, I believe. It has nothing to do with the actual damages - just a minimum filing requirement.
Simplex 2 does not guarantee genital herpes. It is a dormant virus that usually shows up with fever blisters, which are entirely different from canker sores. It's also hereditary Simplex 1 is Gential Herpes. Don't they sell condoms in detroit?
That is just the minimum amount required by the statutes to list on the pleading to file the lawsuit, I believe. It's not the amount sought, just a minimum requirement.

Well this part, to me, says it isn't Affleck: "... but I don’t think any of us expected this actor to have herpes." I mean, everyone knew he forever cheated on his wife and no one thought he was a saint. So someone more low key or who doesn't have a horn-dog image. Also, people, people -- condoms don't cover EVERYTHING and won't fully protect you! Oftentimes, the virus is in the mouth. I wonder what percentage of the population has herpes, because in a couple decades I suspect almost everyone will.
I think this is trying to look like Affleck but im guessing Cavill. Also im surprised Ben didnt stay in a much higher rent area. Dont remember Royal Oak being high-rent district unless it has really built up in last few years.

This was last summer, as in 2015. BatmanVSuperman was filmed LAST year in 2014. Its not Ben Affleck. or Henry Cavill.

It's $75,000 because that is the threshold amount in controversy required to bring a suit in federal court with diversity jurisdiction. The damages the plaintiff are actually seeking will be much higher. This is just a pleading requirement. Yep, I'm a lawyer.

You’re totally wrong. Simplex 2 is genital herpes. Simplex 1 is oral. However, either can be spread to either area. Simplex 1 can be hereditary passed during birth.
