Last week prosecutors in Texas decided there was not enough evidence to go to trial in the felony assault case involving Camille Grammer and her former boyfriend Dimitri Charalambopoulos. Camille had accused Dimitri of a horrific assault in their hotel room in Houston. She claimed he beat her and pulled out her hair. She also claimed he slammed her head into the headboard and choked her to the point she almost passed out. They were in the hotel in Houston because Camille was recovering from surgery. At the time of the assault Dimitri denied the charges despite all the photos that Camille produced showing the extent of her bruising and the clumps of hair she claimed he pulled out. Most domestic violence cases are a he said/she said situation and prosecutors are used to that so there must have been something that was very wrong with Camille's story that didn't jibe with what she was claiming. Dimitri is suing her now which was expected. I mean they were some very serious allegations she made and most people think of him now as a beater of women. Not only a beater of women but a beater of a woman who was recovering from surgery. Not exactly endearing to people. I really don't know what to make of it but Camille was fairly silent when the prosecutors said they were dismissing the charges. Her lawyer says they welcome the lawsuit filed by Dimitri and were filing their own to ask that he pay for the damages that he caused. If the cases are not settled quickly, there will be depositions and those depositions will leak and we will probably get a better idea of what transpired and I'm really curious because I think most of us probably thought it was going to be a slam dunk verdict. Obviously something happened. Hopefully we will find out what did.
