Blind Item #6 - Kindness

This actress is B- list. Mostly movies although she got her start on television. Now she does a little of this and a little of that but still has great name recognition because of that past relationship. She arranged for 100 people to fly to Disney World for spring break. They were all families who are homeless that she discovered while doing some volunteer work at a food bank. She wanted to do something special so foot the bill for airfare and admissions and hotel.

  1. Michelle Williams maybe? I think Enty had her at B, which I think is sad. I'll still snoop around

    1. Show: Dawson's Creek
      Ex: Heath
She just added theater back to her repertoire

  2. Ok, I guess, but for what she spent she could have prepaid a year's rent for each of the families for a year.

  3. Ok. Someone from Dawsons Creek then @ladyH?

    1. I'm going with Michelle for sure. My only hesitation is that she should be listed higher, but Enty calls her B list. She would definitely do something like this. Plus, she is a fan of Disneyland, as many of her theater friends from SD worked there in shows like Fantasmic. I'd be shocked if this wasn't Michelle. This completely fits

    2. But @lady. It completely fits Katie too!

    3. However, this fits Katie as well (with Tom as the ex) and other activities include fashion line etc

BUT I do not know Katie personally, I did know Michelle and her sister when I was a kid. Is Katie known to be charitable and nice? If so, it's a death match between those two. Katie was at Disney recently and is in the DM though. Michelle is kind and has Disney ties though

  4. We wanna invite this kind person to have lunch with us, everyday for the rest of the week.

  5. Katie was In Disneyland 2 weeks ago?

  6. Michelle is a good guess.

  7. Harry, I absolutely get your point, but as someone who came from a very poor background, I can tell you that those kinds of luxury, dream-come-true type things do so much good for their souls! They can get their basic needs met in shelters, but this kind of thing would probably never have been within their reach. Everyone needs a bit of magic in their lives. God bless her for providing it!

    1. And I get your point too, Tammy. I don't know, I still think prepaid rent for a year would be the best gift a homeless family could receive. The soul would just have to wait.

    2. While practical gifts may be more useful in the long run, paying someone's bill won't be build enduring memories of good times. Lower earning families have to focus on day to day necessities, so they do not typically get to go do fun things like vacations and amusement park visits. I have worked with hundreds of kids who have pretty much never even left the confines of their neighborhoods. At one program I worked with in SD, we took the kids to the beach because several had never been.

Whoever did this gave these families something they could never do just for fun, and they will remember it forever.

It's kind of like this: I'd take a day at Universal Studios or a pair of shoes any day over getting a toaster or something as a gift, and vice versa.

    3. Lady H, you and Tammy are thinking like girls, ie with your hearts, not your heads.

Sure, a trip to Disney World is a great experience for a kid that is living in poverty. Best thing ever. But kids can't eat smiles and memories and they're not going to keep them warm and dry. An apartment or house, with the rent paid for a year and the fridge fully stocked will do all that.

It looks like Sprink is getting pretty mad at me further down so I'll just scurry on out of here now. Like a rat.

    4. @Harry: There is an ass for every seat. My mom would take the toaster. I personally wouldn't. I am just saying that I understand the sentiment behind it. I know exactly what you meant but have fun pleading your case to the gender politics police on that one. Better call Saul, bro!

    5. Lady H, I'm thinking I just got my hat handed to me, but for the life of me I don't have a clue what you just said.

  8. That was very very kind, esp for the children. She probably gave them a lot of 'spending money' to go along with the trip so it would help them out when they got back.

  10. Stopping making this about you. I'm the one that got hit by the bus.

  11. I'm thinking Michelle because when it's Katie, Enty usually says A or A+ name recognition too.

  12. Really nice, I love Disney World

  13. I think Michelle has enough name recognition from her work, and is not as dependent on the past relationship as Katie.

My first thought was as people have said, use the money for a year of living arrangements. But I think this drop of magic is great for the kids.

  14. I think Michelle would be A list and the relationship with Heath wouldn't t give her more recognition. I think its Katie.

    1. In his list (aka binders full of women), Enty refers to Michelle Williams in the B-list Range He has done this for Blinds that included her as well, but there are only a couple about her. She has always been a very reserved and private person.

Still could be Katie, but sadly not because Michelle is ranked higher, as she is not

  16. I hate it when someone gives money to help people, and others see fit to criticise.

It really detracts from the generosity of the act.

This isn't the government, these are not our tax dollars; we have no say in how this money should be spent.

If you all want to help provide shelter or food, give away your own damn money.

  17. I'll throw in a couple fun facts about Michelle here, since she rarely comes up.

Michelle went by Shelly and was doing youth theater in San Diego when she got her big break in Lassie, which led to her Dawson's gig. Even as a teenager, she acted like a middle-aged woman. Incredibly mature, determined and talented beyond her years.

She is actually quite tiny, and I heard they "padded" her up a bit for her DC role.

One of her besties as a kid and teenager was Aspen Miller (now Vincent). Aspen got her big breaks by working shows at Disneyland's California Adventure. Other friends of hers got their start working on Disneyland's main show, Fantasmic. Plus, let's not forget she just starred in Oz, a Disney production.

Now the fun shit. She probably doesn't want her name associated with either of these hot messes, but this is too amusing not to share. Michelle previously attended high school with Tim Lambesis, the Christian hardcore vocalist who tried to put a hit on his wife last year and is now going to prison. However, Michelle was not friends with him. BUT here is a definite connection she would probably not like going public: Michelle used to be very close with Jason Russell, of KONY infamy. His parents ran the local theater groups and he used to hang out with Michelle a lot back in the day. Now he's the greatest social movements cautionary tale in history since he was jacking it in the streets of SAN DIEGO

  18. Michelle would probably be A list if she didn't make a habit of being nasty to her own fans.

  19. Not getting mad at all, @Harry. Promise.

  20. A family living in a shelter is living in hell. A safe apartment, some privacy and a normal life for a year would have been kinder. She did a nice thing, it's just a little clueless.

  21. Sam Simon gave an interview about his charitable works. He runs a vegan food bank in LA where people can sit down and have a meal. He gets criticized a lot for his animal rights views and his response is "if you don't like it, get your own damn food bank where you can serve all the meat you want."

    That applies here.

  22. Yeah, going Williams over Holmes, Katie usually gets the A list name recognition tag, doesn't she?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I feel like Katie would have made it public knowledge, if it were her. I'm on the Williams train.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Whoever did this was a nice gesture why can't we just leave it at that? I mean really celebs can't win here if they do something charitable its for PR or it wasn't enough(it could be but does it matter?) and if they don't they are heartless.
