Blind Item #3
This former US X Factor top five finisher says her career has gone nowhere because she refused to have sex for tracks. She is naming some names and they are big names with a whole lot of detail. She has a book proposal out to publishers.
I don't watch the show so I have no clue. But good for her.
ReplyDeleteThat Melanie girl who won the first one but never had an album released
ReplyDeleteAnother book that we'll never see.
ReplyDeleteEveryone knows you must 'roll' with the Cowell gorilla...geez!!!! Who do these molls think they are???
ReplyDeleteA top fiver? No one barely remembers the name of the winner let alone the others in the top 5. The sooner these fame wannabes realise that they're just being used and abused as entertainment fodder and not for any future pop star career they might have, the better.
ReplyDeleteI wish these vics wld name names and expose these shitholes. But then again, what if Dylan Farrow telling truth, look at the shit she has to put up with.
ReplyDeleteRight on, @FSP. We've heard this shopping a book with names before.
ReplyDeleteIf no publisher will take it, long as you are sure you can prove everything, publish it on the internet or as an ebook. And yes be prepared for the abuse. Would it make a difference in the way the entertainment industry operates? Hard to say but maybe some people who are prone to watching these shows or wanting to be on them get a reality check.
ReplyDeleteThat is have at least one lawyer vet it, go for it. A libel specialist.
ReplyDeleteLiddy: They aren't victims. If they were that talented, people would be lining up to have them sing their songs. If they were that talented, they would create their own songs.
ReplyDeletecount, I dont know about that. Think of all the amazing talented people you know who cant make it. Sometimes it seems talent has not to do with it. Even so, predators are trying to extract sex for a shot at the brass ring. i find that amoral. (to deliberately lead someone on to get sex)
ReplyDeleteActually Count in the music business it makes no difference if you are an untalented wanna be famous, or a talented but unknown name. If you are female you have to fuck to get the good songs. Ask Madonna and Joss Stone about that. What is worse is the producers will spin it to make it sound like they had no part in the asking.
ReplyDeleteNow here's where I have to disagree Count. They're performers and interpreters of other people's songs. Linda Rondstat is considered one of the top singers (and muse to some) of an era. Still never wrote a thing. Ditto opera singers. These "contests" are purely for performance not writing a song.
ReplyDeleteCould've been worse - at least she didn't have to sell her soul ;-)
ReplyDeleteIf you only bring 1/2 a meal to the table, don't cry when yer hungry.
ReplyDeleteDid Barbara Streisand have to bone Marvin Hamlisch for The Way We Were?
Who did Carole King blow for You've Got a Friend?
You either make your own way, or you play the game. If you don't like the game, then get a real job. Just because you can sing, doesn't mean you are entitled to a career. I can do math, but I'm not whining no one is making me the Chair of the Fed.
You REALLY don't want to see who you have to blow to be Chair of the Fed! Trust!!
DeleteCarole and Babs were a long time ago, like back when real talent meant something. Unfortunately, that's not the case now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mental image of Barbra giving Marvin a BJ.
@ Count Apparently, Carole King did herself. She wrote the song.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally not buying this "fuck for tracks" thing. Maybe in the hip-hop world with small players, but I assure you no legitimate record label would ever suggest it; nor would any legitimate manager ask that of their clients. I can 100% assure you Adele never fucked Dan Wilson for "Someone Like You."
ReplyDeleteNo producer, or manager, or performer, or any human being on the planet knows which songs will be hits and which ones won't. If anyone tells you they do, they're lying through their teeth, and you should run like hell away from them.
@audrey Madonna has written/produced her own songs/albums since day one.
ReplyDeleteCeCe Frey - the pretty one from 2012 with the terrible voice. Her limited range tied to her hot sexy image probably got her the fuck for tracks deals but I doubt any big time people wanted her...maybe Scott Storch...but ick....
ReplyDeleteI was thinking her too. She was so effing obnoxious.
Deletemadonna has not produced her own shit, perhaps write, but house music producers have made all her songs for decades
ReplyDeleteMadonna has a clause where she can "add" something to a song and be given writing credit. Sometimes it is just a few lyrics and poof, she wrote the song.
ReplyDeleteNow she is coming out with her own skin care line. I am sure she is mixing up potions to give everyone that pulled back, bloated, plastic filled look she sports.
