Blind Item #3
This celebrity chef who has never appeared in this space before, walked off the set of a shopping network when his regular hostess was not scheduled for the chef's block of time. Apparently the director scheduled the space with a male host. Our married chef was having none of that because the chef usually has some after show time with her alone in his hotel room and he refused to go on the air until she could make it to the studio.
Aww, I wish I could understand this BI.
ReplyDeleteEmeril
ReplyDeleteI agree with Emeril. He has a show on QVC.
ReplyDeleteWhy couldn't he hook up with her anyway?
ReplyDeleteAt least he's loyal?
ReplyDeleteSugar! Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteShazbot!
Emeril is on QVC? How the mighty have fallen. :/
ReplyDelete@Sugar lol *whispers* shazbot.. *gets a little louder* shazbot! Im getting the hang of it!
ReplyDeleteThank God it's Emeril and QVC. I love my Canadian "The Shopping Channel" but I don't think any of the female hosts are worth ruining your marriage for.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet it's Todd English. He's on a lot and has that sleazy vibe. I think if Emeril was denied some expected nookie, he'd be just as happy with some beignets and coffee.
ReplyDeleteTodd English, or Wolfgang Puck.
ReplyDeleteExactly Loopmommy. Plus I'm having trouble with someone wanting to fuck the little Ewok anyway. Todd English I can see even if he is smarmy.
ReplyDeleteExactly, Sherry. I just can't picture it. I remember hearing English was a bit of a diva anyway.
DeleteThough Wolfgang and Todd were on The Shopping Channel recently, not sure about Emeril.
ReplyDeleteIt is becoming less and less a shameful thing to go on these Shopping Channels. Especially if you got cooking items to hawk, you will make a killing on these channels.
Joan Rivers is laughing all the way to the bank and she was one of the first to see its potential.
I could see Emeril being like that, although I'm not quite sure I believe this story.
ReplyDeleteShopping channels will have several shows of a given product (like Todd English pans) in a day or couple of days. There may be a show at like 8am, 1pm, 6pm and midnight. On-air hosts are usually only on for about 4 hours per day, so each show will have a different host.
The networks do tend to pair hosts with certain product genres; you won't see a dude hosting a makeup show, for example. Guests will tend to have the same hosts, but not one particular person.
The networks decide in advance which hosts they'll have for each show and the guests know this -- the Bare Escentuals Facebook page always posts things like "Watch our 5pm show tomorrow with host Bobbie-Sue (or whoever.)" HSN even goes further, they put in their program guide, who is hosting the upcoming shows.
The only things worse than celebrity chefs are reality stars and tweeners. Who gives a flying fart?
ReplyDeleteactually - some of the chefs like emeril who have shows that are recurring on QVC are always on with the same person. However, the main cooking person on QVC is a man, not woman - david venebal. dont know anything about HSN (i'm QVC legacy, HSN is a four letter word) but i can vouch that emeril has been a regular for over a decade.
ReplyDeletealso - to those who pooh pooh at QVC - it helped turn Jessica Simpson's brand into a billion dollar corporation and it put me through college and law school so THERE.
Todd English. I find it hard to believe that he hasn't been written about here before, but this has GOT to be him. He's the biggest chef whore around.
ReplyDeleteTodd English is just so damn yummy!
ReplyDeleteI hope it isn't Wolfgang, I love him! And own a lot of his cooking things (pots and pans, rice cookers ect)
Emeril jumped from HSN to QVC right?
HSN used to showcase a lot of chefs..
Curtis Stone is over there, I hope it isn't him.
Emeril. A pal of a pal interned on his show and they had a fling. He was married then, too.
ReplyDeleteIs Shazbot! the new Betty White.
ReplyDeletei agree that doing home shopping is not sinking at all. these channels are mesmerizing if you are interested in the psychology of marketing. every trick in the book but so well delivered. the regular guests make a killing - you have to achieve certain sales levels to stay on.
ReplyDeletei was once stuck in a home for six weeks with only qvc and cbs so i ended up watching it all the time and was shocked by its non-cheesiness, the information i was learning and the staggering number of items they sell by the minute.
other than that, no idea who this is because i try to stay away from these cracktastic channels.
