Here is an interesting question. Should a celebrity care about you? One the one hand you could argue they should care about you and what you think because it is your decisions, especially with dollars that decide whether the celebrity is going to be successful. I think there is a reason why Mel Gibson has not made many movies in the past few years and the ones he has made bombed. The public does not like him and will not pay money to see anything that has his name attached to it whether the end product is good or not.
You can argue that celebrities shouldn't care about you because they are still human and they need to live their lives for them and the only thing that truly matters are the friends and family that surround them and not strangers. That is a tough argument to make though. It is especially a tough argument for Gwyneth Paltrow to make because she relies not only on the public to support her by buying tickets to her movies but also to purchase all the items she plugs on her website and where she derives a great deal of income from purachses she is trying to influence.
In an interview with Red, The Goopster says, “If your partner comes to you — or your best friend — and says, ‘Listen, I want to talk about something you did that hurt me, or I think you could improve,’ sit down and listen to what they have to say. But some friend of so-and-so’s — it’s like, who gives a s**t?”
The Goopster has obviously taken option 1 which is why she is getting less work and the work she is getting is not as successful.
