On Super Bowl Sunday you will see the first glimpse of Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson as the stars of Fifty Shades Of Grey. The funny thing about that is the cost of the ad will cost more than the salaries that Universal Pictures is paying the two actors who will play Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. Apparently the two were cast after a screen test that was incredibly hot. The studio is hoping that the name of the movie will make up for the lack of star power and that it will follow the Twilight example of make a ton of money and pay your actors little. If the movie does great, the actors will do better in the sequels money wise but will make huge money in projects that have nothing to do with the films.
The casting could have been a whole lot worse. Charlie is great on Sons Of Anarchy and Dakota remains one of the people I would most like to have a drink with, so I can't complain about her too much either, except I always have thought of her more as a comedy type actress.
