Leighton Meester Is Out of Veronica Mars

For months and months, everyone knew when Veronica Mars was going to start filming. Apparently though, despite the advance notice and the flexible schedule for shooting, somehow Leighton Meester was not available to reprise her role from the show in the movie. "Scheduling conflicts." Uh huh. Believe what you will. It was not that big of a part, but it was a very important part for Leighton Meester. It is going to be a very popular movie when it is released. You don't think she wanted to be in the movie? There were no scheduling conflicts. There were personality conflicts. replacing Leighton will be Andrea Estrella of the band Twin Sister. Estrella had never seen an episode of the show before being cast. She sent out a statement that was written by the publicist for the movie or for Rob Thomas. It was way too flattering and exactly what a movie publicist would say. "I watched the Veronica Mars pilot and was totally into it!" she wrote. "It's the exact kind of show I would get obsessed with, so it's been a bit of dream to be in a movie, especially being a messed-up rock princess. How could I say no? I think the VM fans are going to be very happy!"
