Kate Middleton Got Sick Again

What I think Prince William and Kate should do is set up video cameras inside their house. The world loves reality television and it seems like William has a million charities and the way they raise money is always the same. Bring in a bunch of people to play music and send the money off to charity. Well, considering the fascination the world has with the daily vomiting skills of Kate and the demand there will be for baby bump photos and the couple's willingness to try to be totally normal (and having a reality show is completely normal now) I think they should launch a pay-per-view channel and send all the money to charity and for those who can't afford the pay-per-view, there will be an hour long highlight show hosted by Graham Norton every week and the money from the ads can also go to charity. This way, the tabloids do not have to spend their resources reporting that Kate was sick yesterday again and William had to cancel his appointments and hold his wife's hair.

She's still really really early in the pregnancy, so I just wish people would leave her the eff alone. Jesus. I can't believe how ridiculous all this is and she's barely in the first trimester.

Oh, how I remember that feeling, while having to tuff it out and drag my ass to work. The 3 times I was pregnant I was sick for the first 4 months. Nothing like puking in a shared restroom. :^\ Must be nice to just sit back and have people take care of everything and to have your schedule cleared.

Poor thing can't afford to lose a single ounce, either.

God, I feel for her. It seems like the negatives of being pregnant and raising kids outweighs the positives.

Oh yeah, I totally covet her coat.

It wouldn't surprise me if neither William nor Kate feel like making a public appearance so soon after the tragic suicide of that hospital worker. I expect the incident will be the catalyst for an already uber private and press wary William to become even more so, so Enty you can probably rest easy in the knowledge that Kate's pregnancy will be spent in semi-seclusion.

Don't care. I dont understand why Americans like British monarchy.

I think it's a good thing that William is cancelling his engagements to be home with his sick wife. Sets a good example, even if most people can't actually do it.

And I don't understand why you don't, @Blue. Love 'em all! (Oh, but I'm Canadian. Maybe that's why.)

@ms snarky - definitely! My dude would do the same. They do seem like a sweet couple.

Ugh, my first pregnancy was miserable. If there were cameras in my face I would have eaten the photographers alive!! Haha, then I guess I'd throw them back up with everything else! Lol

It kind of makes me chuckle though how the media makes a big deal over her morning sickness when it happens to pretty much every pregnant woman. It's not unique to the Royals or to her. With some of my kids it lasted all day but you didn't see it splashed all over the news, ha ha!

That's a really good idea Enty. Even if they just did it for one day, it would generate huge amounts of money. But once they offer themselves up as a public product to be bought, they'll never be able to say, "We're private people, leave us alone!" Plus they're so much in a fishbowl anyways, they probably relish what little privacy they have. But great idea anyway. Maybe Linds should do a pay per view channel?

People can do alot for you, but SHE is still the one nauseaous and vomiting, 2 things I hate.

Difficult pregnancies are no joke. The Earth Mother types are all, "it's normal it's beautiful it's wonderful and you'll have no problems if you eat macrobiotic free range organic sea kelp from the Great Barrier Reef and call my vegan doula for help." No, she's sick and needs to be left alone for a while.

I wonder if it's more than morning sickness just because the Prince is cancelling engagements. Honestly, when I was hacking up my insides due to being preggers there was nothing anyone could do for me aside from let me sleep, leave me alone and allow me my General Hospital and various trashy TV programs. I'm sure the royal staff is doing all the day-to-day drudgery that we normal folks do on our own. I can't stand invasion-of-pregnancy stories. Drives me bonkers. She's probably feeling awful with the whole nurse/DJ thing as well. I know that would make me feel terrible even though there's nothing you can really do about it.

If the paparazzi keep being so aggressive in photographing Kate while she's quite barfy, "splashed all over the news" may soon have a very different meaning!

If there's going to be a newsflash every time she pukes, this is going to be a looooong pregnancy.

This is not regular morning sickness--it is a serious, debilitating illness that some people have actually died from. It won't happen, but everyone should leave her the fuck alone.

Maddie M. said...

Wow. Some of the comments on here and elsewhere are pretty ridiculous. Um, no, Catherine does not have "regular morning sickness." She is suffering from a debilitating disease called Hypermesis Gravidum. My uncle, an OB/GYN, told me that he only sees about 3 or 4 cases a year, and that it is a horrible thing to go through, MUCH worse than regular morning sickness. In fact, it can be fatal for the baby and the mother if not treated. So the next time you complain about the Duchess going to the hospital again or William canceling an engagement to be with his seriously ill WIFE, think about what could have happened if they were not so careful. To all the mothers bragging about all the morning sickness they had, you did not, in fact, have HG. I'm sure your experience was very rough, but HG is not a disease where you can simply "suck it up." It's just not. Do some research before you act all high and mighty, because otherwise you just sound like jealous, sad people.

She looks about as anorexic as her would-be mother-in-law. She probably hasn't eaten anything in weeks so they have to stick an IV in her.

^ they how is she fucking puking, Einstein??

save your troll comments, we aren't interested.

Also, she won't just be suffering from the nausea & vomiting, her muscles will be so sore - anyone else remember how your stomach felt last time you vomited? They will need to really make sure there is no damage to her teeth or eosophagus from the acid. And, this is played out on the world stage with no privacy. You couldn't pay me enough to be famous.

Anna V. Xol said...

Exactly! I think the little girl in most women flipped out when they got married because of the whole princess thing. But it doesn't mean anything to me. All hail Alma, royal queen of toilet brushes and snot-wiping.

Celimene said...

Hyperemesis gravidarum isn't normal morning sickness. I gave birth four months ago after suffering through HG. On a good day, I'd only vomit 10 times. A bad day would be closer to 25+. It's difficult to stay hydrated because even tap water made me sick. I couldn't work for most of my pregnancy. I wanted to throttle anyone who recommended ginger ale or any other "normal" remedies. Hospitalization plus anti-emetic drugs normally reserved for cancer patients worked for me - and I didn't even have a particularly severe case of it.

Point is, what Kate has is no joke. As Maddie M. said, it can be fatal. It's a horrible way to spend your pregnancy, but now that I'm a parent to a delightful little girl, I'd do it over again in a heartbeat. I mean, hell, there's only a slightly better than 50/50 chance you get it with future pregnancies. I'm totally willing to try my luck again.

I feel for her. I don't have kids, but I've seen someone who had HG and, um, wow. Beyond words. Just the look on Kate's face when she left the hospital--so pale and queasy. Poor thing.

Hail Alma. You're a queen in quite a few worlds.

Hyperemisis is not typical morning sickness, so please, spare the 'I don't get the fuss' comments. It is very real and it is HORRIBLE. I had it for the entire 9 months of my first pregnancy, and took medication for it up until my 8th month. The first 4 months I was in and out of the hospital, so this could continue for her for a very long time, poor thing. The low point for me was developing carpet burns on my elbows and knees from crawling to and from the bathroom to throw up - I was too weak to walk.

Sorry to rant, but I get so angry when people label her weak or claim she's asking for special treatment - I wouldn't wish HG on anyone.

And good for him, choosing to be with her. As horrible as it is for the mother, it must be agonizing to be the father and be totally helpless to help the mother of your child.

@auntjess- lol. I was in walmart last summer and I saw a very pregnant woman pushing a cart with 2 kids inside. She had a red t-shirt on that said "I should have given him a blow job". I was so shocked. I should have taken her pic for the people of Walmart web site. I couldn't believe she had that shirt on. Her kids looked old enough to read also.

Zeeky_Boogy_Doog said...

LOL, I teased a bit above, but that's only because the overzealous ones in the media need to back off. The ones that get too close, it'd be a great display of karma if she got sick on one of them... except they'd probably make millions off the story and photos. She can't win.

Zeeky_Boogy_Doog said...

Also, I really hope that HG subsides for her... that sounds dreadful. I can somewhat relate, I have IBS and it got so bad a few years ago my weight dropped below 90 lbs. Everything I ate "prison-rioted" its way back out. After not that long, malnutrition gets you, and you get so weak you can't function.

Hope hers gets under control very soon. It's her first baby, she should cherish this time instead of spending it severely ill.

Lioness70 said...

HG is nothing to joke about. Friends of friends who had it all wound up in the hospital to stay hydrated.

I didn't even want to go out with run-of-the-mill "morning" sickness. I never threw up, but I felt like I was going to, all damn day. I can't tell you how relieved I was when I was past the 1st trimester.

Leave this poor woman alone and let her recuperate. This is serious shit, pap and general public douchebags. Damn.
