This Will Make You Angry

20 guys are on trial for taking part in a months long gang rape of an 11 year old girl and videotaping it. The trial has got underway and one of the lawyers for the a-hole above says the 11 year old girl is to blame for all 20 guys raping her because the 11 year old girl lured the men like a sipder lures its prey into a web. Uh huh. The f**ker really said it. He also said that since the girl told all the guys she was 17 that she must have really wanted to have sex with all of them. Yep, he said that too. Now, the girl has always told police that it was consensual. When an 11 year old girl is having sex with men as old as 27, nothing is consensual. Apparently this was all only discovered because of the sex tapes.

Ugh...sickening....at least these boils on the ass of humanity have a shot at being convicted and tossed in prison, unlike the multitude of pervs and rapists in hollywood.

They should remove themselves from this Earth. How could someone live with themselves after committing an unbelievable act like this? Disgusting beyond belief.

Real men wouldn't do shit like this. That poor girl had sex with monsters. I hope they all accidentally die in prison.

I thought sex with an 11 year old would be considered rape no matter what the circumstances.

What's even worse is that an attorney is going along with this crap. Shakespeare said it best: "First, let's kill all the lawyers."

parissucksliterally said...

Unbelievable. I hate people who are lousy excuses for humans. Do any of these guys have little SISTERS? How would they feel if this happened to her?

Their mothers must be very proud, and I'd like to commend them on such a fantastic job of raising them.

UGH.

jax said...

if she is saying it was consensual then i think they would be charged with unlawful sex with a minor, same as Polanski. Stat rape only applies if the age is close together. I think.

ForSure said...

I love to see that Shakespeare quote about killing all the lawyers taken out of context time and time again. The quote pertains to taking away the rights of the masses and amassing power, so yes, killing the lawyers that protected and fought for those rights was essential.

A good defense lawyer makes the state prove its case. You can usually do this without making an ass out of yourself and saying stupid things. Actually, having sat on two juries, I can tell you that the best defense lawyers say as little as possible. This guy got a very bad lawyer. Doesn't matter, if there are sex tapes they will probably be convicted.

Hopefully, that girl is in very intense counseling.

LottaColada said...

I'll never understand what makes people do shit like this. 20 guys and not one of them had any COMMON SENSE that this shit is not only wrong but disgusting?

Revolting...what kind of "men" have sex with an 11 year old?!

Amartel said...

Gross x 1000000000. BTW, isn't this statutory rape? Open-shut case, no? No excuses, no blithering on about 11 year olds "luring" people. Maybe the trial's in a state where there's no statutory rape? Odd.

Also, it's an attorney's job to defend his or her client. If you're ever charged with doing something hideous (that you never did) you don't want your lawyer holding his nose and pretending not to know you. That being said, this is a piss-poor defense. (But then that's what I said about the Casey Anthony lawyer so maybe now juries have gotten so stone stupid that you have to come right out and tell them what to think rather than imply it thru questions.)

Cudos on that achievement.
This question is directed at the asshat who made that statement - got kids? Got a daughter? If she were the victim, would you try that argument?
Or would you be the first to try and save the taxpayers some money and handle the issue yourself, Dirty Harry style?

I wonder if this is gang-related? It would possibly answer the question of how could 20 guys do this. I could be some sort of initiation.

totally disgusting, BUT at the same time I can totally beleive an 11 year old consenting to this. I've first hand seen little girls, with crack heads for parents, run around on the streets, and do anything for the attention. My home town has an epic underground underage prostitution ring.

Its so sad to see the product of these careless parents, that goes for the scum that were involved, and the poor little girl who obviously didnt know any better...

@FS, you beat me to defending lawyers. Thanks.

By law, 11 year olds cannot consent. This was rape.

Amartel said...

This friggin' stupid website!
The trial is over. The defense lawyer did not present any evidence or witnesses but, apparently, was allowed to argue the ridiculous "luring" thing. Probably due to the fact that all the defendants were black and the victim was hispanic and the community felt there was racism in play. Forget about talking to the hand on that one; converse instead with my fist. Nice community. The main guy, the ringleader, fled the state for a while but was duly rounded up, and was convicted and sentenced to 99 years in prison. The other adult defendants cut plea deals. The juveniles got 7 years each.

Amber said...

@Amartel - Was any motivation for doing it reported? Or were they just like, "Hey it's 11 am on Tuesday, what should we do today? OH I KNOW! LET'S FIND AN 11 YEAR OLD TO RAPE!" I'm just trying to figure out how something like this even comes about.

CrazyCatLady said...

If I'm not mistaken, this guy actually fled during the sentencing portion of his trial...not sure if he's been found. Because of his sentence, most of the other men plead guilty without a trial.

Part of the problem with this case has been the town itself. It's a very poor, undereducated town with many people blaming the girl for what happened. Apparently her parents did not supervise her and let her just run around (I would like to assume most parents wouldn't let an 11yr old out of their site) which led to her being lured into a shed by alcohol.

CrazyCatLady said...

I thought this trial was long over! Just wasn't sure if they ever caught the main guy.

Some of the things these little girls do shock me, theyre doing things I would be mildly apprehensive to try.

"Not even a mature 11 would pass for anything beyong 14."

I looked 18 when I was 11/12. I remember getting hit on by a mall Santa when I was 12. It took years for me to realize he was actually hitting on me, though.

I'm not defending these "people" in any way. Just giving my history. That said, they knew she was 11. The most unbelievable part is that the majority of the town was on the rapists' side.

Mame Dennis said...

@Vicki Cupper, how do you know the mall Santa thought you were 18? Do you know that's what pedophiles say when someone calls them on it? Oh, but she looked 18!

When I was 12/13, older guys all the time told me I looked older. I really really didn't. It's a ploy to make younger girls think it's "ok" to fool around and act older.

cinephreak said...

@Mame -
scuze yourself, thats NOT what I was doing, I was simply pointing out that there are in fact little girls who do this shit on PURPOSE and that its SAD.
Im not trying to "paint her into some little vixen who instigated this"

Im just saying its sad that the generation of kids that a bunch of fucked up people had are finally growing up and showing what all that absent parenting did.

I was stating an opinion/and observation that has to do with the case, Im not talking about this specific girl, I said I could see a young girl going along with it, because they're too young to understand/too fucked up in the head to care. And its something I've personally seen.

get it right.

Maja With a J said...

This is vile and disgusting and I hope these men get what they deserve. But cinephreak isn't wrong. It's no excuse, and I don't think it can be considered "consent" under any circusmstance, but there are some pretty advanced 11/12 year olds out there. The reasons why they are is a whole different story and probably as horrific as this one, but not all children get to retain their innocence, unfortunately.

Mame Dennis said...

@ Maja. With a J., I agree that there are little girls who don't understand sex. But, seriously, when someone says, "Oh this is disgusting... BUT..." it is not helping the issue that rape victims are often accused that it was their fault.

Just say "It was disgusting."

gadfly said...

I rarely comment, but since I live near where this heinous event occurred, I may be able to clear some of this up.

Yes, 20 male defendants were charged - to date, seven juveniles received probation and six adults plead out and each got 15 years in prison for their deals. The a** in this story - his trial just ended and he was found guilty. He has not been sentenced. He will face 25 - 99 years in prison. He is only the second in the remaining group to stand trial.

The girl victim in this case was and is a mess; she did testify that she was a willing participant, though we all know an 11 year old child cannot consent to anything legally.

With regard to the attorney, as vile as the "defense" he presented was, it really was his only choice as the entire incident was captured on numerous cell phones. Not much to work with but play the "blame the victim" card. Notably, this defendant did not tesify, nor were any witnesses called.

Hope this clears some things up.

I don't know who you THINK you are, but I'm not a rape apologist nor was I excusing these men. I merely said that it's a totally disgusting story, but That I've seen young girls in similar situations before and they 100% consented. This means I've witnessed a 13 year old relentlessly hit on a 25 year old. It's not ok but it happens. Would you have been less offended by my comment had I started a new thought? This is real life, girls really are doing shit like this, sorry if the truth offends you.

SecondCityKid said...

Doesn't matter what the child does, it really doesn't. Doesn't matter if she was tall, attractive, dressed "sexy"...ITS STILL RAPE. They raped her in every which way possible. She was 11. ELEVEN. 11. Mmmkay? Do we all understand that? A few of us do, the rest are trying to victimize the VICTIM, AGAIN.

Mame Dennis said...

@cinephreak, I'm just having a conversation here. I haven't attacked you. You seem to be very aggressive and upset.

I know there are girls who are messed up. My point is... why bring it up in this conversation if you agree that it has nothing to do with this situation?

Simply bringing up little girls being sexual in a conversation that's talking about how disgusting blaming an 11-year old victim is, yes it will seem to some like you're implying blame on the victim.

Because in the situation you just gave as an example, the 13 year old coming on to a 25 year old, I'd say if he raped her it was 100% his fault. 0% hers. Always. Every time. Without question.

ablake said...

It was disgusting.

BUT
Between the media hyper sexualization of tweens and lack of good parenting, I can see where a little girl lost would say 'yes'.
Any attention is good attention, no?

But yeah. Disgusting and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that these idiots knew she was so young, no matter what they say.
They saw their chance to take advantage and get their rocks off.

I agree about hoping she is getting intense therapy. No reason for that little girl to be broken like that. Bless her heart.

Amber said...

I don't think anyone was saying it isn't rape. I think people were commenting on how unfortunate it is in today's society that there are a lot of little girls out there who want to act like they're grown, and end up in adult situations because there are sickos out there that take advantage of them and then say, "OH BUT SHE SAID SHE WAS 18!" (or whatever the legal age of consent is in the area.)

Snapdragon said...

Yes, whether or not young girls are precocious beyond their years (for whatever reason)--the law is the law and it's very clear it was broken here. Pretty clear cut, no buts.

Amber said...

It makes me so sad that, from what some of you have posted, the entire community is basically blaming the little girl. I hope she can get taken away from there, and go somewhere where people can love, protect, and support her. Pipe dreams, huh?

fordellcastle said...

If it was a gang-I mean Crips/Bloods/Aryan Brotherhood-she may be saying it because her life and that of her family may depend on it. I live in a smaller city with access to lots of interstates (drug trafficking, murders, etc.) My grandson is in 6th grade, and there are gang members in his class.

SecondCityKid said...

@Amber, its a really nice pipe dream tho. :)

fordellcastle said...

No way would I blame the girl, ever. A child-and she is a child-who is over sexualized at a young age has no doubt been a victim of relentless sexual abuse. I still have a hinky feeling she may have made a bargain to save her life. She lost it, anyway. No way will she recover from that. If anyone needs witness protection, it is this kid.

Mame Dennis said...

@fordellcastle, I had that feeling too. I mean how many adults think rape is consensual because the woman didn't fight back (usually out of fear for their lives)? Many rape victims report that much of the time, the first question people (not just cops, but parents, friends, etc...) ask, "Did you fight back?" As if the answer is 'no', then it wasn't really rape.

"My point is... why bring it up in this conversation if you agree that it has nothing to do with this situation?"

my opinion had everything to do with the situation, and thats why I brought it up. You were the one who didnt like the way I structured my thoughts. How I added my "BUT"

which I notice you didnt slam the other person who said this is disgusting BUT...

I strained my eyes I rolled them so hard when I read that petty little comment. Such "drama" indeed.

Mame Dennis said...

@cinephreak I'm sorry if you were offended by my comment, BUT you know a lot of people do perpetrate victim blaming by adding in BUTs when discussing rape. But my BUT has nothing to do with your comments. A completely different topic all together that I'm just mentioning. For no reasons at all related to my thoughts on the topic.

mykickapoo said...

God these disgusting child rapists make me sick! I hope they receive the same experience in prison. I hope they convict these pigs. I feel so badly for the girl, she was used and abused terribly. And the people in the town that blamed the victim should just shoot themselves.

cinephreak said...

Anyway, the only thing I was trying to say is now a days its not so unusual to see sexually active KIDS, and with hardcore porn being so easily accessible, I can see where kids would think running trains is a totally normal thing.
She says she consented, and I agree it DOESNT make it okay, those men should have known better, and they totally deserve their punishments.

The only thing I was trying to say is, its not unheard of (for me at least) for a preteen to be getting sexual with older guys, completely by her choice.

Furthermore, I have known of at least 2 girls aged 15 who allowed trains to be ran on them so they could get in with a gang. A lot of females these days DONT CARE, they all wanna be 'bad bitches'

trust me, Im 20 and I come from one of the gnarliest and dirtiest parts of California. I can think of at LEAST 5 girls who are under 18 and bona fide prostitutes.

The value of being a good parent and raising kids with morals are gone.

THATS the only thing I was trying to say

cinephreak said...

Im sorry for getting so snappy and if I offended anyone, I just felt as if my words were being twisted into something I did not want them to mean....

Of course these men are scum, and of course this poor girl is a victim. I didnt mean to take away from that.

Mame Dennis said...

@cinephreak, I'm being serious here. Not jumping on you or trolling or trying to stir shit.

I didn't twist your words. This is what I responded to "totally disgusting, BUT at the same time I can totally beleive an 11 year old consenting to this." Can't you see where that comes across as putting some blame on the victim. Because an 11-year-old can NEVER consent to sex. There is no understanding of the act, so she cannot legally consent to it.

Maybe you didn't say it the way you intended to, but how would I know that?

My first comment did not attack you. I was polite, maybe you didn't like what I said, but I was polite.

Mitchellaneous said...

Let me just put this in perspective. I just asked my son, who is ALMOST 13.5, if he would ever kiss an 11 year old girl. He said, "Ew. Mom. No. 11 is a kid. A KID! You're gross".

cinephreak said...

well I meant I can believe an 11 year old doing the deed with grown men, not that I can believe that this specific one would with these specific TWENTY men.

Cuz I mean if you go on to read the rest of my comment I go on to explain why I believe that someone of that age could find herself in that situation by choice.

And legally I suppose that she cant consent, all Im saying I have seen a whole lot of girls 11-15 say and do a whole lot of the stuff they supposed to not understand.

AND THEN turn around and try to blackmail the guy she slept with to get something out of him, Ive seen this. Seriously. I dont doubt the integrity of this victim, Im just saying there are many a little girl who cry rape, who demean it for the real rape victims. BUT im NOT saying this particular girl did.

My point was, in this day and age kids ARE understanding what sex is at such a younger age. Shit I understood sex at a young age, just BECAUSE porn was so readily available on the internet and I was so curious.

So I mean yeah legally she cant consent, but whats to stop her from consenting? Its not like just because its a law young girls wont be having sex with partners that are obviously (to us) taking advantage of them. Its up to the men not to take advantage of a stupid girl looking for love.

katie said...

Mame Dennis said...

@Sis Cesspool, I don't disagree with the sentiment, but this really wasn't digging too deep. One of the defendants was found guilty ONLY today, so it's hitting the news sites today.

s. said...

obviously, a child cant legally consent, but in the real world, where even infants are used for sexual purposes, its not uncommon for a child to say yes to rape, to go along with it, to exhibit learned signs of pleasure, even to initiate, because that is the only expression of acceptance or love or safety some children understand. this girl is only one of them, and she is one of the lucky ones.

The fact she says it was consensual is perhaps the scariest part.

I'm speculating here... I'll bet she had a bad homelife for whatever reason, and one of these guys started grooming her. Probably showed her attention and love, and gradually coerced her into it. Same kinda stuff that happens to runaways that get pulled into prostitution.

The Cleveland gang rape is in Texas. Specifically Liberty County Texas. Here is a story posted today http://www.khou.com/home/Second-Cleveland-rape-case-trial-under-way--181080821.html

Bubbly said...

I read CDAN every day, but have never posted before.

I live in the town where the trial is taking place. The crime turned Cleveland (north of Liberty, the county city) topsy-turvy.

It is disturbing that anyone thinks an 11 year old can consent to any sexual act. Texas state law states she cannot. Period.

My uncle was the jury foreman on the first trial in September. He said it was gut-wrenching testimony, but there is clearly only one verdict. And yes, the defendant was found a couple of weeks later holed up at a relative's or friend's apartment in Houston.

Our town of about 10,000 people has been inundated with media from Houston and national media, as well. Last summer, the first day a group of the accused appeared in court, I went to eat at a small restaurant across from the courthouse for lunch and sat at a table next to press from USA Today. That's crazy, y'all.

I'm a rape survivor myself and my heart breaks for this girl, her family, and the families of these boys/men.

I am at least grateful I have been able to protect my kids as best I can.
