Three Narconon Deaths - Three Lawsuits

In the past year, there have been three deaths at a Narconon drug rehab center in Oklahoma. Narconon is the Scientology arm that supposedly finds a cure for drug addiction by using the written technology of L Ron Hubbard even though he had no training at all. Oh, and they also use saunas. You know, because no one wants to ever use drugs again after being in a sauna. Despite this world class technology, three people have died in a Oklahoma Narconon facility. Yesterday, the family of one of those people who died filed a lawsuit against the facility. Now all three families have filed suit. The latest family says their son died after complaining of headaches and being ill from being in a sauna all day. Another person overdosed. The families all say that Narconon tries to hide its Scientology tie ins and that the company also said a doctor is on site 24 hours a day when in reality one comes by once a week. I really hate Scientology. You know, if they want to "audit" someone using a 50 year old lie detector, than that is their business, but when you start talking about the lives of people and their deaths, that is a whole different thing. (Thanks Jennifer)

How is that place even allowed to exist? Doesn't something like that have to be certified by some sort of medical board? Doesn't the State think something is weird???

Shame on them for exploiting and killing addicts. And the cos fall from grace(?) continues.

It's four people dead in the last two years but three in one year sounds (and is!) a lot more.

What happens to all of the members when Co$ falls? They're so brainwashed - I'm actually a little concerned for them.

We discussed this about 6 weeks or so ago. . .I know Frufra posted several links. There's been quite a bit of coverage in the OKC and Tulsa newspapers here. . .and yeah I hope Co$ finally gets held accountable.

Yeah....my cousin's husband is currently there for an alocohol addiction. I only learned that a week or so ago. Apparently they (cousin & husband) practice Scientology. Scares the crap out of me to tell the truth. I too am an Okie and grew up in the major town south of where this rehab is located.

Most low end treatment centers only have a doctor visit once in a while. They all rely on 12 step indoctrination and/or cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and regard addiction as undifferentiated by individuals or the substances used. There is zero research on other theories or methods.

WHEN will the critical mass of damning information FINALLY be reached that brings this dangerous cult/scam to its end??! Come ON already!

Tommy Davis is no longer associated with CO$ /Miscavige. Not sure if he is looking at the new version of CO$. (Marty Rathburn.)

I posted on the Scientology Rodeo site about my friend's recent experience with an agent, Mike DePalma trying to get her son into Vista Bay Narconon... She called me and I gave her several links of the fails of Narconon.. Thankfully she told this guy where to go. This guy continually called her several times in one day, said Narconon had a 76% success rate, told her their legal team would help her son with his legal issues if he left the state to go to this facility in Calif. and wanted 34K for the services.

Scientology, it's worse than you think.

Sorry, that was glib, wasn't it?

I just watched "The Ex Files" documentary last night. Scientology is way bad juju.

Doesn't a religion have to prove they actually are a religion to get a tax break? COS is like Lindsay Lohan...they seem to get away with absolutely everything. And they are out of their minds.

Yes, they are under new ownership and he wanted to go. Nothing nasty (that I know about)! He is also writing a book about his adventures in CO$. I am a long time fan of not only him but of his many knowledgeable readers who comments re CO$ are quite revealing and sometimes heartbreaking.
