A friend of mine once slid down an escalator handrail, fell off onto the escalator stairs, did head first somersaults all the way down, and ended up looking like he'd been mauled by a tiger.
While he sat on the floor of the mall covered in blood, in shock, his glasses broken, and 911 on the way, all he could say was, "My jeans are ripped." He was severely, severely injured and taken to hospital and was left with permanent scars.
Please people, do not slide down escalators!!

Escalators, if abused, are monsters that will chew you up and maim you for life. Oh Enty, you and your "Fail" videos. I love your site to death, but can't watch those. People getting injured or worse, facing death due to incomprehensible stupidity stresses me out! Even if people are stupid, I don't like almost see them mangled.

No, as the child of a firefighter and the friend of EMTs and the mother of a firefighter -- all of whom have told me horror stories about escalators, I find this not funny but horrifying.
I'm just glad no one got killed or maimed doing this.

Thank god for all your comments. I was hoping I wasn't the only one who found that totally moronic and useless. Mostly just wanted to punch the face off of the giggling camera punkette.
I did this once when i was 7/8 messing about with my brothers, i ended up getting to the top and was stuck, i started crying like a baby, it was the most embarrassing thing ever.
