Bubba Watson And His New Baby
If you did not watch The Masters or even care who won (Bubba Watson) this story will still probably interest you. It is one of those things that tug at your heart a little and then you go damn. A nice little smile to start the day. Anyway, for four years Bubba Watson and his wife, Angie who played pro basketball have been trying to adopt a baby. Four long years and they said they were rejected a few times too along the way.
Anyway, on March 22 they were approved to adopt a boy and three days later went and picked up their son in Florida. The thing is they have to stay in Florida until the adoption process is complete so Bubba had to leave almost as soon as he got to Florida and travel to go play in The Masters where he won the thing. Brand new dad, wife having to stay in Florida and watch it on television and then Bubba making some incredible shots and it all just came together. I know this is going to be a movie. Not a movie movie but some kind of made for television movie. The kind where Tori Spelling thinks she has a chance to get the part of Angie. Hopefully the producer does not feel like he owes Tori's dad a favor from a long time ago or else then the movie becomes a disaster and what was a heartwarming story becomes Dean & Tori instead of Bubba & Angie.

Never heard of Bubba and have no idea who or what the Masters even IS, either!
i was so happy when i heard about this a few days ago. idk the first thing about bubba, but his wife is a sweetheart. she was an audience guest on a client's tour date last year, and the girl is the sweetest thing ever. very cute, bubbly and charming. she's 6'4"--an entire foot taller than me, and we were both in flat sandals that day...it made for funny conversation...i am so happy they have their baby...it couldn't happen to a nicer girl. yay them!
I don't ever watch golf, but I turned on the TV to catch 60 Minutes and it was still on, so we watched it for a bit. We read that for the first time ever televised, the South African player hit an albatross on live TV. My husband and I were concerned for the albatross, until I learned it is a golf term and not a bird.

They were talking about it yesterday on the radio station I listen to so I watched him win on Youtube. Almost made my eye start leaking.

My favorite part of the masters (not a huge golf person) was listening to the Brit announcers say "Bubba." And the fact that he seems to be a real-life Happy Gilmore (has never taken a golf lesson, doesn't analyze anything). I might have watched that movie a million times in high school.
Em, omg me too!! I loved it when he and his caddie had to be broken apart by his mother. I love underdog stories. Also, can't hate on a guy that's named Bubba if he's not a toothless skinhead.
Bubba was on the UGA golf team when I was a student there. It's great that he won suge a huge tournament in Georgia, where he has a devoted fan base, which includes myself. And the first thing he said when he put on that green jacket, "First off, to all my fans, you gotta say Go Dawgs!" He's a class act.

It was a great tournament. The tie breaker between him and Oosthuizen (sp?) was actually exciting. For golf at least. I enjoyed it! And he cried like a baby at the end. It was so sweet. People really seem to like him. My dad and brother said they're never seen so many players be there at the end to hug and congratulate the winner. They really love him.

I didn't know the back story here but did catch the last 20 minutes of the masters. It was a real treat seeing him win. Glad to know the back story is as sweet as his win was!

I love golf and was so excited to be able to attend the PGA tourney last year...Bubba is just such a unique player to watch. I haven't enjoyed someone so much since Payne Stewart (he wore old timey golf knickers in NFL team colors - for non golf fans). Had no idea about his wife - or their struggles to have a baby. But even if I hadn't liked him before, hearing that his wife told him that she wanted children but couldn't have her own - and he loved her enough to say you matter more just means the world to me. Not all men - or women - can handle that. I think golf has found their new fan fave! One thing I love about golf is how family oriented the majority of these men are! Yes, I have seen plenty of cheaters - but for every Tiger and Greg Norman - there is a Bubba Watson and a Phil - who supported his wife and mother during their cancer struggles at the same time - also winning one of his Majors during this time and his wife who was still ill, managed to be there at the end. Heartwarming for sure!!

Bubba is class personified. His win was lovely and his personal story is as well. I was hoping Phil Mickelson would get his fourth green jacket, but it was wonderful to see this win. Congratulations on the baby and the win, Bubba and Angie!
My husband made me watch a segment on him earlier tonight b/c he'd been rooting for him in the Masters. Love the self-taught, underdog side of the story, much like everyone else. With a Masters win and his new bebe, I guess it's a good time to be Bubba. ;)
