Amanda Bynes' Dad Has Blinders On
Ever since his daughter's arrest for DUI, the father of Amanda Bynes insists she did not drink the night she was arrested for DUI, but rather just held because she was emotional. He also says that she does not even drink at all. Oh, and does not work because she chooses not to work. I know that love for your child can make you blind, but dad entered Ray Charles territory a long time ago. Has dad not seen the videos of Amanda coming out of clubs drunk? Multiple people saw Amanda drink at both of the clubs she went to that night and police do not arrest you for DUI just because you are emotional. What dad should be doing instead of burying his head in the sand is thinking of a way to help his daughter who obviously has issues. Whether they just relate to drinking or not is something else, but living in a fantasy world does not help anyone.

You guys must all be confused. OBVIOUSLY what happened was that Amanda was over at Lindsay's house, playing scrabble and drinking tea, when the same people who are trying to make Lindsay look bad viciously decided to do the same thing to Amanda. These are good girls, who would never drink or party. *eyeroll*
Well, if the drunk pictures didn't alert him the freaking bubble gum pink hair should have. Sheesh
all these little girls have serious issues. and its sad.
I don't understand what the big deal is. She drinks. So what!? Everyone does at that age. It's NORMAL to go out and get hammered on a regular basis. How is this an indication that she has a problem?
Driving drunk is another thing, but who gives a shit if she drinks and DOESN'T drive?!?!
I think the "she chooses not to work" was a parental dig at the "breadwinner." How fucking sad that all of these parents are content to live off of their kids, and will say anything to keep them working. Her dad might not be one of them, but still.
I wonder what job HE has. Like Dina Lohan, neither one probably wants to go against the hand that feeds them.
Her dad is a dentist in Thousand Oaks, and her mom is a dental assistant. They are a very normal family. Hollywood can really screw up a kid, that would have otherwise had a very normal life.

I'm kind of with JayElle. So she drinks heavily in her 20s. I don't drink as much as I used to, but I've certainly gone out and gotten bombed and stumbled out of a club. I don't see this as having issues. The fact that she drove drunk doesn't mean she has issues either. It means she is DUMB.
Anyone ever notice that people don't get DUIs in NYC, Chicago, etc. It's called taxis, folks. It's a saving grace.
Her dad also said she blew a zero on the test.

I agree with JayElle and Jolene Jolene. I drank a lot in my 20's too so I can't really fault her for that. She's young and hasn't had a conventional life either (not an excuse, but just saying). I hope she learns a lesson from this and doesn't drink and drive anymore and gets her stuff together. Likely in Hollywood? Probably not, but we shall see.

I didn't take it as a dig at the breadwinner. It is her Dad being in complete denial about why she doesn't have a job, just like he is in a denial about her not being drunk when arrested.
She isn't choosing not to work. She just can't get a job.
