Jonathan Antoine Is Amazing

The producers at Britain's Got Talent, know how to sucker in an audience and get them watching. They have taken the formula before of using someone who you would never expect to be amazing and then have them deliver a jaw dropping performance which then makes them a crowd favorite and has everyone tuning in. Jonathan Antoine is that person this year. Amazing. Spectacular. Watch it and share it with your friends.

I am sitting here sobbing. This kid - fat, not popular - and Simon Cowell gives him a standing ovation. It can't get much better than that.

I'm tired of being manipulated by the BGT producers every year. This video is blocked from appearing on sites other than YouTube, so thank you producers - you saved me the bother of watching it.

@Seachica, it's on Celebitchy, too, a post from yesterday.

it's an obviously ploy for ratings, but not any different than manipulation in any other 'reality' show, contest or not.

that said, what a talented young man!i hope he goes far. i find him much more endearing, engaging, and easy to connect to as opposed to susan boyle, talented as she was.

Beautiful.

THIS is what's missing from America's version of these talent shows. A true talent that does not fit America's standard of beauty. We are soooo obsessed with the Britney's, Rihanna's, Beyonce's, that we would never give someone with true talent who is not an American ideal of beauty a chance.

And so more people fall for this crap, as proved by the post and comments above.

Please get a grip on your lives.

Unfortunately Jonathan's friend Charlotte didn't get much air time. She's excellent singer on her own right. Here's a video from Jonathan's Youtube channel where they sing a duet from the Phantom of the Opera. These kids are unbelievably talented.

Since this video is blocked and I'm too lazy to put down my rice krispy treat to do a search, could someone please tell what exactly the video was?

It's like angels singing, it's so beautiful. Could you imagine if he was on The Voice. They would have all fought for him, for a chance to work with that talent.

Ok...not to be mean, but he needs to get rid of Charlotte. She has a sweet voice, and it's not horrible by any means, but it's not even close to the level Jonathan is naturally at. Charlotte is also sings a little flat and off in some places. Jonathan needs to dump Charlotte. He blows her away and is too overpowering for her. She's like a little gnat in the background, distracting you from his amazing performance. Put Jonathan with Susan Boyle...now that's a great performance.

I was able to watch this on YouTube w/o any problems. It just can't be embeded into a site.

The boy is amazing. What makes me mad is the rolling of eyes and faces people make when they walk onto the stage. Really people? Grow up. Haven't we seen enough to know that looks aren't everything?

I was manipulated and also felt something in my eyes. That Jonathan has a resonance similar to Pavarotti. I love him. I felt a little sorry for the girl.

Also, I don't know why I like Simon because he can be so mean but I still do like him.

I cried too! I'll admit, I did feel a little manipulated as they did the audience shots of people first reacting to Jonathan, then continued to flash between his performance and their shocked reactions- that part was annoying.

HOWEVER- stuff like this shows perhaps the best thing about reality tv and talent competitions like these. Seeing the heart of a person and who they truly are underneath- no matter what they look like on the outside- and exposing that talent for all to see is truly a magical (and much needed) thing.

Good for this young man for showing more people that fatism needs to die a slow painful death and looking beyond one's own narrow minded ideals of beauty is an important thing.

The ugly duckling / swan arc will never go away.

Yes, the producers saw a good story line and yes the cuts between judges and audience response were typical to help build that sense of cynicism, but I also think that this young man has experienced being judged and written off many times before this. What's wonderful is his talent and the break through it created. I think that is what people respond to more than anything.

And perhaps Cheryl isn't as talented as he is, but I somehow hope they can find a way for the partnership to work.
