Nicole Richie Is Heading To QVC

Showing that she will make a buck anywhere one is offered, Nicole Richie is heading to QVC next week. The former reality star and now totally absent from every ad I have seen for Fashion Star because Jessica Simpson wanted it that way, but presumably on the show and a reality star again will be selling her third line of clothes to lucky QVC shoppers. The good news is you do not even need to use Easy Pay. Oh, you did not think I knew about Easy Pay? Please. I know all about it. There is rarely anything I would ever want on that network, but late night when my mom can't sleep, I hear those announcers voices seeping down to the basement and every once in awhile I hear my mom ordering it. She usually goes online to do so, but when she loves a particular host she will call and try to get to speak to them on the air. Whatever makes her happy makes me happy. My dad does not really tease her about it either.

I think that show is going to crash as hard as H8r did on the CW.

It looks so dumb. I am only hoping that Nicole got a couple jabs in on Jessica.

I saw one commercial for it. Jessica Simpson is as dumb as it gets, why would anyone listen to anything she has to say? Her business managers, on the other hand....

My Jewish grandma adores QVC and had the QVC credit card I think.

She gave my dad, inexplicably, a giant dalmatian dog statue
and periodically sends me tangled mounds of 'gold' jewelry that looks tackier than the costume shit I used to wear as a kid in the 80s.

You've havent experienced guilt until you've neglected to call your grandmother after she sends you some QVC shit...jewish grandma QVC guilt is the worst (shudder).

Anyway, the topic is relevant because that shudder-esque feeling induced by my grandma Lorianne is exactly what I associate with all things QVC and now that will include Nicole Richie.

Seems quite apropos to me ;-))

Jasmime, next time she sends you something, go on the website and see what they have. They acutally do have some beautiful peices and many other things.

The only thing that I really buy from QVC lately is a killer makeup kit that I can't find somewhere else, or a special config only offered there. I like to watch certain beauty vendors (Holly from Smashbox or Bobbi Brown) for tips and tricks

It seems their clothing lines sizes run a bit wonky. They tout the same size in all lines is totally bogus.

I can't really hate on QVC I have gotten some great items but I am quite picky about what I choose to buy. usually their shipping is quite high.

I bought a 14K gold ring with a huge blue topaz stone about ten years ago. It's still a beautiful piece of jewelry. Like any thing else you have to pick and choose.
Though I haven't bought anything there in years, it's not a bad place.

A few years ago I met a woman who had worked at QVC. She took the job because she was an actress trying to pay her rent and that job was as good as any. She told us hilarious stories about how she and the other hosts would lie on air all the time "I got my niece this purse in white and she looved it and all her classmates want one now!" (she didn't even have a niece) or "This goldenite necklace with diamelles will NEVER tarnish! People will think you're wearing the REAL THING!") She left the show because she said it was utterly exhausting being ON and UP and lying all the time, with the producers continuously demanding more, even though I think they only worked 4 hour shifts.

I count QVC as the one and only place to buy from(of all the shopping channels), though I did cross over and purchase a Wolfgang Puck stainless steel pan set from HSN- and it was worth EVERY PENNY.

I love to watch the beauty shows as well- though they do tend to go overboard on the descriptions and selling...they have good ideas and the prices on package deals are amazing...

On days where I feel down/blue, a good shopping channel show will bring you around- its all smiles and happy- vs news or E! channel crap. At least they are always positive.

I will tune in for Nicole, ust to see if she can talk the talk about her line, and actually "sell it". If she does well- I will be the first to say so.

Oh lord. I might pee myself if QVC ever had back-to-back Quackerfactory/Nicole Ritchie spots. It really would be Christmas in July.

I wouldn't wear that horrible shirt shown there if you paid me. Fucking hideous.

QVC not bad. Ive gotten some real nice stuff that i love, and what i dont like i return. Never a problem. Listen, nicole can make like a bazillion dolllars in 2 hours- thats why they all go on shopping channels!! Wish I had something to sell, lol

That's pretty bad, but you haven't experienced TRUE Jewish Grandma Guilt until you refuse to eat the obviously chicken based dishes your Bubbe made for you while you were at school. She knows you've been vegetarian since age 8 (and still are at age 30 FWIW), but that don't matter. You're just picky. That is serious JGG.

Cant really understand how Jessica Simpson is always making big bucks. She sings rubbish and has no real talent but for some reason is always cashing in...

I'd rather watch Nicole than Jessica. Though I won't watch it anyway. I hate all Reality shows. Bunch of fucking crap. I cannot believe The fucking "Bachelor" is still on. I want to vomit any time I see a commercial.

Jessica Simpson sells handbags, shoes and hair extensions on QVC. They sell like crazy; I dont happen to need or want the products. Anyway, that is where she rakes in the mega bucks.

I will never understand how NIcole Richie is considered to be a fashion icon. She wears and desgins some of the ugliest, tackiest, most outdated grandma-looking crap I have EVER seen.

I used to work for a company that sold gold and diamond jewelry to QVC and HSN. They are very particular with what they purchase and the mark-up is not very high. I used to offer to get jewelry for one of my aunts at below wholesale and instead she would buy it on QVC. People get addicted to shopping at QVC.

Lol Principessa!!!

I feel your pain soooo much. Try having your dad put extra horseradish on your matzah cracker during Passover (cause his mom did it to him when he was a kid and he wants to pay the misery of eating horseradish on top of the apple Charoset to you!!!)

LOLOLOL omg, Im literally rolling my eyes AND laughing/snorting at the same time- didnt know I could do that ;-O

Didn't she put Lauren Conrad down for having a line at Kohl's 'cause her line was more "boutique"? (nothing wrong with Kohl's or QVC, of course)

Christine! OHMYGAWWWWWD! Love my Wolfgang Puck stuff! Trust me, get the rice cooker Worth every penny! They have a mac and cheese reciepe that is to die for!

Ureally *snork* Now that would be a great lineup!

Astrid she did. (totall mean girl BOO!) I love the look of LC's stuff, very soft, very girly but not over the top girly.

The best part of QVC was Mike Rowe! He blew it out of the park when he was on that channel with the nun doll! I still crack-up when anyone mentions QVC because of him.
