Elizabeth Smart Gets Married In Hawaii
Elizabeth Smart is one savvy and smart person. She knew there would be a media swarm around her wedding so she moved it. She told everyone it was going to be in Utah in the summer and then moved it to Hawaii in February and was given privacy and a media free day. Well, she did tell People because they don't really count as media. They are more like a PR service that has somehow convinced people to shell out $5 a week for press releases. Congratulations to her and hopefully she can live life without a lot of interference and the next time we will see her is when Kneepads buys her baby photos.

She's awesome, without a doubt, but ITA with Bitch Next Door, she does look 45 in that photo. And it's not like it's her fault, just bad lighting, bad angle and bad on Enty for posting that one instead of the thousands of pretty photos of her.

Regardless of how she looks, Elizabeth Smart has come through everything like a star. I hope she and her husband have a happy life together.

Absolutely, Elizabeth's been thru HELL and back. As such, i worry about her future mental health because it seemed like she bounced back too quickly. Hope she has a good therapist (non-Momon) on speed dial.
Given what she's been through, she's entitled to look 45. Poor woman, I hope she lightens up on the makeup and starts looking her age soon. Much happiness to you and your new husband, Elizabeth. You certainly deserve it.

I won't criticize her looks or attire. After what she went through she is entitled to wear whatever she feels makes her happiest. The conservative look works for her.
Dixie, I think Enty's just making the assumption that at some point Elizabeth and her husband will want to have kids, and when that time comes, Kneepads would want the photos.

Not to be rude, so pls bare with me ... but when ES passes away, say 80 yrs from now, I pray that she has as big as a funeral that Whitney had because in my eyes, ES truely deserves to be on a pedastil. Congrats to the newlyweds.

She's wearing far too much makeup in this shot, and it looks as if this picture was taken in the glare natural sunlight -- two factors that can dramatically age anybody. She's naturally a very lovely girl, and I agree that Enty could have probably found a more flattering picture.
And who gives a shit if she married a fellow Mormon? She probably *did*, considering how she was raised in the church, but good for her for being able to actually have a trusting relationship with ANY man. She endured a legitimate nightmare, STILL has to deal with the nosy media, and is braver than most of us can even imagine. I hope the rest of her life is blissfully boring and uneventful, honestly.

Thank you for simply calling her "Elizabeth Smart" in your heading. I am tired of seeing her always called "Rape Victim Elizabeth Smart" or "Kidnap Victim Elizabeth Smart." I wish the media would just call her by her name or, at this point, just call her "Survivor, Elizabeth Smart" or "Advocate, Elizabeth Smart." We know who she is.
I hope she is having a happy life. She deserves it.
Smart met her now-husband while the two were on their missions for the LDS Church. I'm certainly no fan of that church, but I wish her every happiness in future. (Regarding the heavy makeup, is it possible that we're seeing shots of her taken before/after television appearances?)

There are pics out there of her and her (now) husband where they both look incredibly young (she's 24 and he's 22) and so happy. The makeup and that suit were for court appearances. In case contact with the criminals would upset her, being pale or flushed or upset wouldn't be apparent under the inch-thick stage makeup.
I suspect they've been engaged for a while (since they returned from their mission in France) and (as Enty pointed out) announced an August wedding to deflect coverage. Good for them, and God bless them.
