Prince Harry Says No To Photos

Prince Harry is in Los Angeles for Thanksgiving. Taking a break from his helicopter training, he is here and has already been visited by David Beckham. Do you think he calls him Harry or does he have to bow or something first. Anyway, there have been three people that I know of who have run into Harry in the hotel and tried to get their photo taken with him or at least of him and he would not let them. He also said to one of them that he was not allowed. Why? Is he going to melt if he takes a photo with someone? To say no to one person, I would put off to a bad moment, but it keeps happening and the excuse that he is not allowed seems kind of shaky. Who is not allowed?

Sounds like plausible royal protocol to me.

Happy Thanksgiving Enty and everyone who celebrates. :)

I agree, these are not like you and I or even celebrities. They are royalty and a certain level of respect is expected towards them, even from uncouth Americans who don't know any better.

In all fairness, it may not be his call to make; his family may have strongly urged him not to pose for photo ops with "civilians" (for want of a better term). Perhaps they're afraid that if he gets the reputation for being willing, he'll be completely overrun, with disastrous consequences? Considering what happened to his mother, this may not be mere paranoia...or there may be some other security issue we don't know about. I'm going to chalk it up to safety concerns rather than snobbishness, and leave it at that.

Oh, and happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Could it be because he is on military training? Either way, good for him.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Gobble until you wobble!!!

Here's an even better theory.
It could be it's not really Harry, but a double, covering for whatever Harry is really doing.
Right, Enty?

Happy Turkey Day, everyone -

I think it might have something to do with that Halloween party he went to a few years ago and was snapped in a nazi uniform, not the brightest move on his part. I'm sure the Royal family gave him hell for that one and laid down the law about pictures of any sort.

I'm not mad at him for that. I mean, the royals aren't even supposed to be photographed eating in public so I wouldn't be surprised if this was part of protocol. Plus, I bet even MORE people want pics with him than many other celebrities, so if he says yes to one person he has to say yes to everybody or he looks like even more of a jerk. Prince Ginger, keep on keepin' on.

Lord knows what crazy rules he has to follow. If it was anyone else I would roll my eyes, but since its Harry I think he's being legit. Give the guy a break.

I can just imagine some porn stars posing with him or something like that.

@Robert I agree with that and then they can turn around and sell their story of their "steamy night of sex with Harry" all based on one photo with him.

Royals aren't having any of that.

I'm thinking this is totally a military thing and not a Royal thing.

Now that I think about it, I've seen very few photos like that of William either. There are a very few of him with the Middleton family at their graduation from St Andrews, but other than that, I cannot recall William and his buddies posing with arms around each other and stuff like that. I really think royals are just not allowed to pose for photos unless its an official function or something. Maybe that's why the paparazzi are so anxious to get pictures of them.

When you take pics, you usually snuggle up the celeb or put your arm around them. It is a severe breach of protocol to touch a royal. Look at the brouhaha that went on when Michelle Obama accidentally touched the Queen.

Many years ago at my workplace, we had a visit from Prince Andrew. There were many, many hours of negotiation around what photos could be taken of him and with whom. And this was a sanctioned visit. So I can see this being protocol driven.

Yes, I agree - not his call. He's owned by the Corporation, or whatever the Queen call it. Kind of like being born into luxurious slavery- easy living on the most part, with ridiculous rules, and not really master of your own fate. Probably thanks God every day he's the spare, not the heir. And gives a short prayer for Will's health. Still, Dayum is that man a hot Ginge or What?

Harry got in to a lot of trouble after he went to Cowboy's here in Calgary. He took pics with lots of people and made out with a really sleazy cocktail waitress, who told the story to every person and media outlet that would listen (http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2007/06/08/prince-harry.html) I think he learned his lesson the hard way.
Although I have seen clips of the "younger royal" (William, Kate, Zara etc.) doing the lean in for a picture thing with people when they are doing walk-abouts.
