Lindsay Lohan Does Marilyn Monroe Again
You know, the last time Lindsay Lohan got naked for a magazine, she did the whole Marilyn thing. It was fine and I get the fact she loves Marilyn Monroe and named her leggings company after Marilyn and thinks she is a good actress like Marilyn and would probably like to find a President who would have sex with her while his brother watched, but it is really getting old. Old like Hugh Hefner who says that Lindsay's Playboy spread reminds him of the classic Marilyn Monroe pictorial. Really? Couldn't think of anything new? Now that Hef has said that, this just means Dina will start spouting off about how Lindsay is the next Marilyn, minus the talent and multiple husbands.

I think with Marilyn it was not so much her acting as her presence. She glowed. Lindsay does not.
Foxnews.com is reporting that this is what Hef wanted. He wanted the shoot to be "old hollywood" Maryiln-style an fully nude. The previous one wasn't and had strategic coverings.

I don't think MM was that great of an actress, but she did improve with every movie she did. She wanted to be taken seriously as an actress and she wanted better roles, so she kept taking acting lessons. LiLo never will. She thinks she is already great! LiLo also completely lacks the allure and charisma Marilyn had.

I have to put in my two cents here, then never speak of it again. I worked with Lindsay on a movie right before she got really popular. I saw her throw temper tantrums and pouting.
After seeing Kate Major yesterday it seems like her behavior is just like her Dad. She doesn't get what she wants she stomps her feet, claims it wasn't her fault etc. I mean really have we ever seen a famous father and daughter in jail at the exact same time? So sad.
So I think she has inherited this immaturity from her parents, unfortunately she will have to hit rock bottom to change-after some time I still believe she will still have these issues for the rest of her life. Kind of like Tatum O'Neal.

Except that Marilyn herself was a role that Norma Jean played. So, in a way you could say that she was a great actress! :) But no, I don't think she had as much talent as she did presence and charisma. Maja is right too - the fact that she was trying to improve herself right there makes her 1000 times better than LiLo. It's one reason I also like Clooney - he started out as an awful actor, and he knew it, and he has worked hard to become better.
I do think that LiLo had some of that inner light that Marilyn had for a while in her teens, but she burned it out with the drugs.
girltrav - that's really interesting. I guess we all knew, given her parents, that she probably was never an angel, but we all know how good Disney is at making their "product" look like little angels. Until they go way off the rails.
i think MM was a very good actress. and unlike this repulsive dipshit, she took it seriously. she studied under the best acting teachers and she desperately wanted to be taken seriously.
i thought she was a comic genius. and then she broke my heart in 'the misfits.' (her best work, IMO.)
if marilyn hadn't died so young, i think she may have gotten more serious roles as she got older, and her acting ability would've been more appreciated. she just never outgrew the bombshell roles---which is a shame.
Lindsay is a lost cause. If she really wants to be taken seriously she needs to stop doing all these nonsense and get to work.

I am over this trick. I mean seriously. What I think would be great is if everyone would cancel their subscription or send the issue back. Put on it-return to sender. Seriously. Show that she is done. The whole family, even the half sister, want their moments of fame. They would go on a show killing some endangered species if it meant making the cover of some mag and getting a check. Just think how Hef and the rest of Playboy Inc would react to getting all of those mags back. I normally buy a playboy to send to our brother in law in Afghanistan. Not this time. The troops have been through enough without having to see her naked. Pretty soon, she will be in porn. Just saying.

Its such a shame that I now have to explain to my daughter who loved LL in Parent Trap, what has happened to her. She sees her on TV and doesnt understand why she looks so bad and went to jail. She had such promise as an actress .. this is your brain on drugs!

Taty-Not aimed at women with subscriptions, aimed at ANYONE with one. For those who would buy it anywhere else-like I do when we send care packages out. What I was getting at was that it is about money when dealing with her and her family. If people stop going to her movies, stop buying mags with ANY of them on the cover, then the industry will stop putting them out there.
