With just a couple of months until Elizabeth Taylor's jewels go up for auction, the jewels are on tour for everyone to see. I personally think they all belong in a museum. These are some of the most famous jewels of all time and I hate to think of them just sitting in some rich person's house and never seeing the light of day.

I never noticed this before but in the very last photo Elizabeth looks like she had a nose job. I know she had plenty of work done later on, but I didn't think so when she was younger.
That daisy necklace has always been one of my favorites. I would love for it to go to a museum so i could see it in person.
I'd love for them to rotate between large city museums and the money generated go to her AIDS charity. I'd pay $20 to see them.

They really are so over the top you would need a body guard to wear them....that said...I love emeralds.
The problem with them being in a museum is that then they wouldn't ever be worn. These jewels need to be WORN!

I'm old enough to remember when she first wore that diamond as a necklace on the Oscars. She had a tan and was at her most beautiful. She was spectacular. And everyone that night saw the proof.

You all should get Taylor's book, "My Love Affair with Jewelry." It's fantastic! Lots and lots of big color photos of the pieces, along with stories written by Taylor about when she got them, from whom, why, etc.
Figgy, while I do think Taylor was beautiful, I don't think she was as gorgeous as everyone else seems to think she was.
Even though I called her a slut the other day I think she is stunning. But a Liz Museum and the $$ going to AIDS would be grand. I am sure if that is what she wanted she would have called out for it in her will.
I like Terri's idea best. I'd fear that someone would lose them or they'd get broken if they were worn.

My grandmother looked so much like Elizabeth Taylor when they were both older. It always makes me smile to see pictures of Elizabeth.

I think she was stunning but am saddened to see she had such short, stubby fingers, I guess no-ones perfect LOL
That horizontal one in the bottom picture looks just like my engagement ring, but with platinum band, not gold.:)
