Antonio Banderas Loves Women Beaters
Last week, Omar Shariff slapped a woman in public at the Doha Film Festival. The woman wanted Omar's autograph and was being too pushy for his liking so he slapped her. It did not even seem to bother her and she stayed until he did give her an autograph. If a guy does that to a woman in public think about what he is doing to them in private. Has anyone heard an apology come from Omar about this? I have no heard one or seen one and apparently Antonio Banderas does not seem to care either as this was him yesterday giving lots of love to Omar. I wonder if Omar had slapped Melanie Griffith across the face if Antonio would be this happy and joking like this. Of course he would not, so why is it ok for Omar to slap some other woman and Antonio is great with it?

i dont know every single thing that my friends do, let alone business colleagues. how on earth is standing next to someone condoning their actions, esp when there is no evidence he even knew about it? like if he were hugging mel gibson, chris brown or roman polanski, thats different. omar isnt exactly tmz, front page news worthy anymore
unless Antonio held the woman back while Omar slapped her, I dont see a problem. Very possible he doesnt know, anyway.
additionally...its a slippery slope logical fallacy to assume that because he slapped one lady in public that he beats women in private...
Au contraire, I have the feeling that if Omar slapped Melanie, Antonio would be shaking his hand and buying him a martini.
the women's arab leauge demanded an apology but from what I know of he hasn't.

If Melanie had let go of Antonio when she was told to, Omar wouldn't have had to smack her off him. Silly cow!
Not to be all un-politically correct... but I thought this was pretty accepted in Muslim countries, the whole slapping the woman for misbehaving thing. I think they are kinda making a big deal out of it because I heard they half-heartedly told him he couldnt do that, but I think that's why this is pretty much going nowhere - no one cares there. Which is probably exactly why the woman that got slapped not only stayed, but continued to wait to get her photograph. Don't you think if this was so wrong, she would have complained?
This post, and especially the title, is absolutely ridiculous. Antonio Banderas probably didn't even know that Omar had slapped a lady - I mean it wasn't exactly the cover of CNN or anything! I don't see what this has to do with Antonio at all, and claiming that he loves women-beaters because he was photographed with someone at what looks like an award-type show is preposterous and stupid. Boo.
It's disappointing that Omar Shariff would slap a woman like that - no excuse, but I don't think Antonio is condoning it. I surf the gossip sites quite a lot, so I know about it, but no one I know does, so I don't think Antonio would know about it, either.

Good Muslims do not slap their wives. It is technically permissible in the Quran, but I'm sure it's also permissible in other religious texts. Id say over 99% of muslim men do not slap random woman. You are not allowed to touch females unrelated to yourself so @Princess I hope this clears up your confusion. Omar is just a dumb*ss.
Oh and the woman is probably psycho If she stayed after being slapped. I'm also sure IF she complained, it would've been dismissed quickly. Pretty unfair over there.
Pusssykatt - thank you for taking the time to put together that timeline. I knew about the valet and had thought there had been other instances of Sharif's bullying behavior. I just don't think he's a nice man at all - no matter what his cultural background may be!
I think it might be a bit of a leap to say Banderas condones that behavior, personally.
