From $15M To $750K
Greed got the best of Oksana Grigorieva. She was not satisfied with the $15M she was supposed to get in a settlement with him so ripped it up and went for more and ended up with $750K. After legal bills, she will probably end up with $300K tops which she will probably blow through by the end of next year. How does anyone think they are going to get more than $15M? Just because the guy threatened your life does not mean you are going to get more money. Instead of living comfortable the rest of her life, apparently she wanted to live like a billionaire or something. This has to rank up there with one of the worst decisions ever made.

The $750K is over 5 years too. Ouch. I'm concerned for the daughter around Mel. Has he had any parenting classes or help after all these abuse allegations?

Seriously. Fuck her AND Mel. ALL I care about is the kid. I kind of hope that one of Mel's older teenage daughters will feel sorry for her half-sister and keep an eye on her.

She's an idiot. I'm sorry for what happened to her and she certainly didn't deserve it but...I've always thought she was shady.

Mel is no prize, but I'm not sure what she thought she would get in the end. Should have taken her $15 million and ran!

I read it was divided up thusly: $250,000 on 8/21/11, $250,000 on 9/15/13, and $250,000 on 1/1/16. Mel repairs the home as needed and, when Lucia turns 18, the house is sold and the funds deposited into a trust for her.
To quote TMZ..."She should have taken door # 1."

Since she and Mel will share custody, I bet he doesn't have to pay child support to Oksana as long as he pays for all of Lucia's expenses directly.

@Layna - I forget where I read it, but apparently it had already been settled that Mel does in fact pay child support for Lucia. He pays the same amount for Lucia that he pays to Robin for their (remaining) minor son.
The $750k is a settlement strictly for Oksana.

Gosh, she might have to...uh...get a job! And work for a living! And budget her income! Live like the common people! What a damn shame!
I honestly think that, given 3/4 million, I could manage to live on that for the rest of my life quite well. I live on a helluva lot less and don't feel really deprived.

Have always been on Team Mel since hearing the tapes which were so obviously doctored. Yes, he seems to be a rotten person, but she was trying to blackmail him and it backfired.

And yeah, I think those tapes were doctored, too. Mel's a jackass, but why bother trying to blackmail him? Press charges, take him to court--fine with me. But don't go as low as he would.

She is not hurting for money. She is getting paid by Timothy Dalton for their son. She just got played. Shoulda taken the 15 million. But, I could live very good on what she is gonna get. I'd still use my coupons and shop the sales.
I'm not so much Team Mel as I am anti-gold diggers, lol. For the abuse he heaped on her, she should have taken the 15 million. She was straight up attempting to extort Mel and completely failed. THAT is what I find humorous in this situation.

Passion of the Christ netted almost $500 million. Her lawyers took one look at the $15 million and thought she easily could get 10 times that if not more.
I think this is pretty much confirmation that Oksana was a golddiger / extortionist.
I am sure Mel has issues but in this case I am convinced he was played to exploit those issues. Myself I wonder the decision to turn down $15 Mill came from the Russian Mob.
