Today's Blind Items

What celebrity who lost a bunch of weight supposedly off her diet program and never stops talking about it actually had surgery to achieve her amazing results.

  1. I hope it's not Jennifer Hudson?

  2. Jesus Dogshit.

    ALL of them?

Methinks this is a superlame cop-out blind.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Jennifer Hudson's weight loss is dramatic, so it may be her.

I hope Carrie Fisher keeps on track, she's looking good.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I hope it's not Jennifer Hudson too... but I think her weight loss was a combination of diet, exercise and the trauma of what happened to her family.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I am betting it is Jennifer Hudson. Weight Watchers has never been that successful. I wish that these celebrities would just be honest.

    ReplyDelete
  6. "her diet program" as in one she owns? That would be Kirsty.

If it means the program she chose, some contenders would be Jennifer Hudson, Raven Simon, Carrie Fisher.

But who never stops talking about it? I'm back at Kirsty.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Kirstie Alley has a diet she is trying to sell.

Jennifer Hudson was quoted as saying her weight loss is more valuable to her than her Oscar.

Either one of these wouldn't surprise me.

    What about Valerie Bertinelli?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Marie Osmond....she will do ads till the cows come home.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Haven't we seen his blind before? Don't think it's Kirstie Alley...she lost weight right before our eyes on DWTS. I'm going with JHud.

  11. I thought Kirstie attributed alot of her weightloss to DWTS???

    ReplyDelete
  12. I guarantee you it's Jennifer Hudson!
And I despise that she's been allowing others struggling with their weight to believe she did it with dieting and WW.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Valerie posed in a bikini. Is she had surgery there would be an obvious scar. Plus, I think she chronicled her weight loss while it was in progress.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I like the Marie Osmond guess too.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Jennifer Hudson is the popular guess, and yes this has been a blind before. I can see why so many would think its her but I have my doubts because she is lacking the odd looking head that so many who get surgery seem to end up with (like Al Roker and Star Jones).

    ReplyDelete
  16. Maybe Carrie Fisher didn't have surgery, but what on earth did she do to her face? I just saw her new commercial (where she shows she lost 49 lbs.) and her face and mouth are just weird. Bad dental work maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  17. This is an old one that came out months ago. It's Jennifer Hudson.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Those ads with Marie Osmond really annoy me - she has such a fake smile - I always get the impression she doesn't really believe what she's saying so I vote for her as the subject of this blind.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Jennifer Hudson looks too thin for a former fatty. Michael Musto even had a comment in the Village Voice back in January 2011.

    ReplyDelete

Patty, no, she wouldn't have a scar. Lap-bands are done through the belly button. No scars.
My $ is on Jennifer Hudson. She lost the weight way too quickly to have done it just through WW exercising.

A celeb having surgery for weight loss? You don't say! It's not a big deal. It's their body and their money. They can do as they see fit with both. And if we regular people are still falling for these 'real' life' celeb weight loss stories, then that's us being naive.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I thought Jennifer lost her weight over several years and maybe the last pounds came off rather quickly but in general, she was loosing weight for quite a while.

I think, I could be wrong...

    ReplyDelete
  23. I don't think it's Jennifer Hudson, simply because I don't believe that Weight Watchers would fall in with that type of deception. It would be devestating to their brand name.

And for what it's worth, WW does work. I've lost 25 lbs since May STRICTLY from following their Points Plus plan. I say straight up that I hate exercise and don't do it. It's been all about looking at my portions and what I am eating. And I was turned on to WW by my mother who lost 20 lbs 6 years ago and has continued to keep it off using WW. So it most certainly CAN work for those who are dedicated enough.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm on the Jennifer Hudson train. Remember when she was on Oprah talking about her weight loss and was being super cagey about divulging just how many pounds she lost?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Layna Day: It's not about the fact that she had surgergy, it's about the fact that she SAYS she's lost it all by Weight Watchers and excising when in fact it's from surgery. There's a diff, no?

It's J Hud. Her skin is far too loose to have lost it from exercising hard. Sometimes you can just tell. And that's my very scientific observation. :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. As per my usual unpopular guess: I'm going to with the Bravolebrity, Patti Stanger. She looks absolutely amazing lately. Promotes the powder sprinkle on food thing. Admits to a breast reduction surgery that dropped 15 lbs. During that surgery the Dr. could easily have slipped in a lap band? I do not believe in some powder diet magic dust! Ah la Trimspa babeeee or the quick trim Kardashian scam.

If this blind is JHud then WW has a huge problem on their hands...

    ReplyDelete
  27. Just an observation incase y'all haven't noticed....Valerie's re gaining her weight.

On the other hand this blind is obviously about dumb ass Scientologist Kirstie, who constantly tweets these days. Now if she's truly had a bypass she can look forward to regaining her weight within 4 years. All people with surgical intervention, both RNYs & Duodenal Switches, regain most of their weight....I know I've two friends who experienced such. And of course there's Roseanne & Carny Wilson, two prime examples in the entertainment industry who've regained massive amounts.

  28. Those ads with Marie Osmond really annoy me - she has such a fake smile - I always get the impression she doesn't really believe what she's saying.

She doesn't believe what she's saying because she's a ROBOTIC MORMON STEPFORD WIFE just doing what's expected of her. Didn't she just remarry her abusive ex husband?!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm going with JHud only because she was all of the sudden skinny and then started hawking WW. Valerie B. actually did show a gradual decrease and you can see it in her commercials.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Jennifer Hudson was " cagey" on OPRAH re the exact #pounds lost because her handlers, from WEIGHT WATCHERS, would NOT ALLOW it. However, THE OPRAH got to the bottom of it (80 lbs) as NO ONE TELLS THE OPRAH NO.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Weezy, I think it's the teeth. I watched her one woman show on HBO and also when she and her Mother were on Oprah. It's hard to get past how weird she moves her mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  32. If it's a reality "star", my guess is know-it-all Caroline Manzo from TRHONJ. She claims to have weighed 145 lbs in her overweight days (ha! more like 170!) and is believed to have a lap band. Either way, for someone who has struggled to lose weight, she was very unsympathetic to her chubby daughter (who is sweet and gorgeous, but Caroline openly favors her sons).

    ReplyDelete
  33. i hope it's not carrie fisher...i think she looks sensational w/ the weight loss.

  34. Anonymous11:37 AM

Bitch Next Door, it's not true that all people with surgical intervention regain their weight. You only cited bypass procedures, not lap band. It's true that many people with bypasses gain back their weight, because they simply keep eating like they did before their surgery and just stretch out their "new" stomach to the same proportions as their "old" stomach, over time. However, people who are banded are physically incapable of overeating. If they do eat too much, the food will come back up -- the dreaded "food dumping." I'm having a band done in about 6 weeks after 20 years of dieting, exercising, doing everything I can to lose weight on my own. Nothing worked long term. My mom's the same way. We both began putting on weight in our mid-20s and nothing we did could stop it. Lap band is my last hope.
Jennifer appeared to lose the amount of weight (75-90 pounds) I was told would come off easily within the first six months with the band. She did it in about 6-8 months. That's why I think it's her who had the surgery. Also, you aren't supposed to have plastic surgery to remove excess skin until you have arrived at your goal weight, which may account for the "loose skin" referred to above.
Obviously, I have no problem with people using whatever safe methods they want to lose weight. I don't consider surgery "cheating." What does bug me is when people lie about how they lost the weight.

Layna Day: It's not about the fact that she had surgery, it's about the fact that she SAYS she's lost it all by Weight Watchers and excising when in fact it's from surgery. There's a diff, no?

IMO? No. Is it deceptive? Yes. But not a tangible difference. But I've come to realize that believing too much about most celebs is not a worthy endeavor.

Not sure it's J-Hud, anyway. There's several celebs this could be, many of whom promote diet pill and weight loss programs. It could be anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  36. JHud all the way. She's the highest profile person to shed that much weight recently and she's been talking about it a lot. It isn't surprising that Weight Watchers would have her endorse them- she's visibly shrunk and other women will want to believe whatever she says she did to achieve those results. A no brainer!

You think all those women promoting L'Oreal products actually colour and wash their hair with it? Half of them wear wigs, weaves and extensions- black and white- so these deceptions have been happening for a long time

    ReplyDelete
  37. @ MacVixen - I meant no disrespect to those who have made WW work. It has never worked for me or anyone else I know. Congrats for the weight loss! My husband is going to get the lap band as well Texshan. He has been overweight his whole life and it has been life changing for people we know who follow the rules afterwards. Good luck to you and hope the results are all you want and more.

    ReplyDelete
  38. To piggy back on The Adventures of and the celebrities touting hair color, I remember reading that technically, they have to have just one hair colored with the product to then make the broad and inferred claim that they use the product. Deceptive? Yes.

And mascara adds are required to put at the bottom of the add whether they have used fill in lashes (read fake sets) to create the "full" look in the picture the product is supposed to give you, without the fill in lashes. Yeah, makes a lot of sense...right?

    ReplyDelete
  39. That should be mascara ad's, not adds...

    ReplyDelete
  40. agree with the jhud guess. i always thought she lost weight too quickly for it to be natural, and this is coming from someone who lost 60lbs on their own by counting calories and exercising. i think the reason she doesn't have "the head" like star jones is because even at her heaviest jhud was not nearly as large.

i also agree that that isn't to say she doesn't USE weight watchers. it just seems like she can't credit the entire weight loss to WW alone. deceptive yes, but through careful wording, for example "ww helped me lose weight" etc. its not saying she uses WW and ONLY WW so its not necessarily a lie either.

kirstie's weight loss was obviously DWTS. she woudlnt' have been able to compete had she had surgury, even the lap band which is minimally invasive. i've had friends that got it and they still needed to take it easy at first.

  42. I would have to agree with everyone who guessed Jennifer Hudson. Somehting about her face, it has a new harshness to it that comes from very rapid weight loss. Now, you can lose a lot of weight on WW (or any other diet cult), but in her case it just seems to be a little too much a little too fast, you know?

    ReplyDelete
  43. JHud. She just gave ANOTHER interview last week saying her success was greater than her Oscar win, or something like that. Really??

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hmmm, to pose another option I'd say Rachel Ray who has been pimping these supplements because she lost 30 lbs in just, un can't remember - 3 months? Or less. There are ads all over google. That even come through my Adblock, ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I tried Weight Watchers as a teenager and actually put on weight, even though I followed the diet religiously. Everyone needs to find what is right for them. Some of us are just meant to be bigger.

    ReplyDelete
  46. @ Bitchnextdoor: Comments like yours are very inaccurate. You might as well have thrown in a friend of a friend's cousin had the surgery and died too because we've all heard the same stories right? Obviously the two people you know didn't do any of the other work needed to make weightloss surgery successful. You have to work on your brain too. You have to figure out why you were eating the way you were and how you are going to make changs. The doctors only operate on our stomachs and not our brains.

@ Texshan: I wish you well on your upcoming surgery. But I'm going to throw something out to you. Lap banders don't dump on foods and only about 30% of those who have gastric bypass surgery (gbs) dump. I am one of those that dump on surgars, fat, anything fried, etc. My husband also had the surgery and can eat anything without any issues. And yes those who have had gbs can stretch out their pouches, people who have the lap band can still gain their weight back by grazing (just as gbs patients). I researched it all and was originally going to do the lap band because I thought it was safer, but after doing all of my research I found out that the band has a lot more opportunities for complications down the road (like band slippage or erosion). GBS patients can hve issues with not getting in the vitamins but typically if you take the required vitamins daily and have your blood levels checked you should be okay. Also GBS patients tend to lose far more of their weight than lap bands.

And yes I do have some knowledge on the above subject. I had gbs surgery almost 2 years ago. I was 300 lbs. (at 5'2") and I have maintained my weight between 125 and 130 for the past 9 months.

  47. My guess is Marie Osmond, cause I can't imagine her eating that Nutrisystem stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  48. There are only a few options here. I'm not sure who, but I just wanted to say that it might not be Jennifer Hudson because I have three friends & one relative that have all lost 60 lbs. plus on WW so it is possible she did it that way. She may have been so unhealthy in the past that changing her diet & exercise dramatically yielded the results we see now.

Thanks, BlueBonnet! Best of luck to your husband, as well!
New Life -- no, many lap banders do dump. With the band, you only have a small amount of stomach above the band. If you eat too much for that space (about 1 cup at a time) too quickly, there is nowhere for the food to go except up. It's not as bad as it can be for some bypass patients, but it does happen. I have talked to many people who have the band about this, as well as several doctors. You just have to be very careful about how much you eat. And they will warn you not to eat anything with white flour because it supposedly "gums up" the small opening and gets stuck, but you are correct in that everyone is different. I know people with the band who can't tolerate bread and pasta, and others who eat it w/o any problems. Regarding grazing, I'm lucky in that I was raised in a house where snacking was forbidden, and that's ingrained in me. I just don't do it.
Finally, congratulations on your weight loss!

  55. My guess is J. Hud bc those WW commercials are so. annoying. And it seems like they come on every commercial break.

And to all of you who have lost weight, congratulations & keep it up!!!

    ReplyDelete
  56. ^^^Wow, sorry about that! So annoying, thanks iPad!

    ReplyDelete
  57. You know, I would hate for this to be JHud but it DOES make me recall the behind the scenes Oprah episode where JHud was the scheduled guest. There was a really odd controversy where JHud would not say the exact # of pounds she lost due to Weight Watchers and Oprah just could NOT figure out why. Eventually she did state the number of pounds but in light of this blind I'm wondering if in JHud's mind part of it is due to Weight Watchers and part is due to surgery so not giving all credit to WW may make it seem to her like she's not lying.

    ReplyDelete
  58. J Hud.

She recently got into a twitter fight with someone who asked her if her weight loss was due to WW plus surgery. Instead of just answering the question she started getting angry and threatening them. She was so proud of herself that she bragged about this twitter fight on the radio two days later.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Weight Watchers DOES work. I lost 65 pounds over a year and a half. Over two years on the program, my husband lost 150 pounds. So, I know that dramatic weight losses are very possible using only the program. I kept all my weight off for ten years, and then after my dog died I went through something of a depression and gained back about 25 pounds. I'm going to be starting the program again to lose the weight which I know will be a lot harder now that I'm not 29 (like when I first lost the weight) anymore. Good luck to all those who share my struggles with weight loss, and to ALL the ways of losing it!! (Other than coke, of course!)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Losing weight is not easy no matter how you do it -- surgery or counting calories. I have a friend who has been really successful (lost 175 lbs.) and one who died. It would be nice if these celebs were up front and honest, like that's gonna happen.

Me, I'm scared to death of surgery, have no insurance and can't afford it anyway, so I'm low-carbing it. I don't care what I look like, I just want to paint my own toenails again. I wouldn't mind getting my legs up over my head, either.

So far, three pounds down. Hey, it's a start.

    ReplyDelete
  61. JHud fo sho! WW + gastric bypass = super effective!

    ReplyDelete
  62. I don't think it's Jennifer Hudson. WW would drop her like a rock if that were the case.

I lost all my excess weight on WW in just a few months and have kept it off, and I know a lot of other women who have as well. With just a little exercise you firm up pretty well - no magic tricks except being more active and watching your portions.

    I think it's Kirstie Alley.

    ReplyDelete
  63. @The Bitch Next Door & Chasing Heaven - I saw that episode of Oprah (I rarely watched her show) and I thought it was super weird that JH and the WW rep were being so secretive about the number, too!?

    I hope it's not her....

But on the flip side if it means I never have to see another J-Hud/WW commercial again I'll be AAaaOK with that.

    ReplyDelete
  64. If you google "Jennifer Hudson Amazing" you come to her website, which is titled "Amazing Woman | The Official Jennifer Hudson Site".

Don't all blinds have a clue in them?
    First time posting, btw. Hi!

    ReplyDelete
  65. what about patti from millionaire matchmaker? she's suddenly all over sensa weight loss products. on the program, tweeting, even at the beginning of her videos (people are complaining that the videos are mostly ads). she lost about 30 lbs. VERY quickly. and she obviously had over work done too, so she's not afraid of the knife.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm gonna go with Jordin Sparks. Or Khloe Kardashian.

    ReplyDelete
  67. It is NOT Jennifer Hudson. I have worked with her for over 2 years and watched her work really hard to lose the weight and keep it off. In fact, because of her adherence to her regimen a couple of us on her glam team have lost weight.

    ReplyDelete
  68. And for the record, Jennifer got "super cagey" about the number of pounds she's lost because WW didn't want her to day. They want people to lose weight to be healthy, not to achieve a number, apparently.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Kirstie Alley did NOT lose all of her weight on DWTS. She lost about 60 pounds prior to doing the show and then another 30 on there because of the increased activity. It took her a long time to lose that 60, I don't think it's her.

    ReplyDelete
  70. My votes for Kirstie, not JHud. Speaking of Oprah, did you see the show where KA was still fat and swore that she was going to lose all of the weight she had put on and more? She claimed she had figured out how to lose weight with some magic Scientology potion or something. She swore she was going to come back in something ridiculous like 6 weeks and be a new person. Her eyes were crazy and Oprah was like 'sure'. I kept an eye on KA after that interview and she actually got fatter. She is definitely crazy enough to flat out LIE!
Weight Watchers works! I lost my extra weight with the WW points plus app on my iPhone. I can't imagine having to write everything down the OLD WAY and probably would not have been successful. The trick is you really need to be honest with yourself and mark down, size up and calculate EVERYTHING you eat. And exercise! I must mention that I have hypothyroidism and hashimotos disease. Not an easy task to lose weight with that double whammy, but this program helped teach me how to eat and be active and healthier then I have ever been. Who knew fruits and vegetable could be so much fun!

    ReplyDelete
  71. you don't lose 15 pounds from breast reduction, as Patti Stanger apparently said. I went from a DD (or HH, depending on who you ask) to a B and I was SURE that each of them weighed 8 pounds. I lost FOUR pounds. That's it. Patti would have to have had size MM breasts to lose 15 pounds.

    ReplyDelete
  72. @Seattle - you can lose 10 lbs in fluid just from having a surgery, any surgery, but it comes right back on. So she may technically have not been lying, but only for a few days.
